Creo Elements Direct

I am using Creo Elements/Direct for the first time.  I am attempting to do the initial quickstart project (create an interlocking block).   I am having difficulties drawing a rectangle on the workplane.  I am at the step where the following message appears in the lower left corner: specify the first corner point of the rectangle.  Clicking on the plane does nothing, and holding the left mouse button while dragging the mouse does nothing. Incorporaate making a Database to be created manually on Windows using the same Oracle tool (dbca). Having a “smarter installer” is a valid enhancement request (product suggestion). Avrei bisogno di un manuale per il formato di salvataggio dei files .mi da Annotation o Creo Elements/Sirect Drafting. Talvolta capita che riesca ad aprire il file con un editor di testo e.....con un po' di tentativi... riesco a recuperare gran parte del disegno. I was wondering if Creo Elements/Direct had the ability to open and modify native drawing ".drw" files created in Creo Parametric. Hi,     Does somebody know how to connect visual studio 2013/2015 with Creo elements direct modeling 18.1? DDE doesn't exist anymore in visual studio. We started using WorkManager in the late 90s and Model Manager since about 2005. Originally, when the files were saved, a VRML file (*.wrl) was created with the model. I know that I can use the Project 2D Edge command to copy from one workplane to another. But as far as I can tell, I have to select each element individually. I have tried box selecting elements, but I have not been able to get it to work. Is there a way to quickly select multiple 2D elements to copy from one workplane to another? (I have a workplane with over 50 elements that I need to copy.) I should also note that I know how to copy an entire workplane, but in my case my workplane already contains a lot of 2D geometry-I copied one workplane to get most of the geometry, now I need to copy from another workplane to get the rest.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hi everyone,   Beginner with PTC (or any other CAD-software), so bear with me. I am using PTC Creo Elements for a small private project. This is probably a dumb question but I failed to find a solution. I have designed a pipe with some holes and pins at either end. When I want to extend the length of the pipe, the new part is always added at the end of the pipe, while the holes/pins stay at place. However, I want them to be at the ends of the extended pipe, because this is where I want to join another pipe. Is there a way to extend the pipe "in the middle"? I tried adding a new workplane in the middle of the pipe inserting a new part but that didn't work. Do I have to create a pipe with the "proper" length in the first place? I actually want to try out some different lengths.   I have tried to find a solution using the search function without success. Probably the answer is too simple to raise a question in this forum.   Any idea is truly appreciated pbachertThis thread

Guten Abend,   kann mir jemand sagen wie ich den Zeichnungskopf mit Text füllen kann? Automatisch wird wohl nur der Name des "Parents" und die Sheet Nummer eingetragen. Ich würde gerne von einem Nullpunkt ausgehend kleine Aufbaumaße auf Kanten in Zusammenstell-Zeichnungen eintragen. Bei ME10 gab es eine Variable, mit dem man den Abstand der Maßzahl zur Geometrie auf "0" setzen konnte. Damit ließ sich beim Koodinatenbemaßen die Maßzahl frei in der Zeichnung positionieren. Gibt es so etwas auch für den Annotation-Modul in Creo-Elements? Hi Folks,   I am using Creo Elements / Direct Modeling Express. I like it a lot in some ways. But I find that I am spending quite a bit of time repeatedly fixing things that seem out of place or not quite in the right position. Parts that I thought I had snapped properly into place when I later look closely are not really in the right place. Parts that I thought had been put in place with faces at right angles to other parts, turn out later, when I look closely, to not really be at right angles. I will sometimes use the "mate" and/or "align" functions to make the corrections. That works but I am spending much time correcting these types of things. I used to use AutoCAD and I don't remember this problem with that program (or at least it was less common, to the best of my recollection). Creo Elements so far it is similar to CoCreate One Space V17, however in CCV17 there were 2 each 3D commands (Turn) would add a solid material via working geometry around an Axis and you would indicate the circular degrees and Bore would do the opposite by removing the material. I see the turn command is still there in Elements but Bore is not, or at least I haven’t found it. For instance if I had a cylindrical object and I wanted to create an O-Ring groove around the outer diameter assuming I created a working geometry at the cylindrical axis and wanted to remove that material. What would the command be? I could create a path on an adjacent workplane and sweep (Remove Material) the geometry. However that is a lot of work considering the (bore) command used to work perfectly in CCV17. Hi all,   I will be more precise. We have many computers that run Creo Elements 5 M250 and Creo View 3. On a single computer and for a single user it fails to start. If launched as a standalone program from start, programs, etc, it only runs for 1-3 seconds before crashing. It can only be monitored shortly from the task manager, as nothing actually appears. If launched as a plugin of IE or Chrome, I only get a white empty page without anything in it.   The weird thing is that on the same computer, if we logged in as different users, the program works fine. At the same time, if the user logs in on another computer the program works as well.   Unfortunaltely, I have been autorizhed to rebuild his profile on his machine, which I think could help us, so I would like to know if someone has any idea of what I could do to help the user.   I have already unistalled and installed "everything", creo view, creo elements, java, desktop integration, etc. but with no results. I am trying to move a part. The 3D copilot appears (I think that is what it is called, the 3d thing with the arrows and rings that you pull to move an object) but it wants to move the part in directions that are set at 45 degrees offset from the directions I need to move the part. I tried to see if there was a way for me to reorient the global coordinate system but could not find a way to do that. I created a new coordinate system successfully - but it has no effect on anything! What good is a new coordinate system if you can't move parts or measure relative to it????? I see no way to make it the active coordinate system. I looked through the help file and so far have not found a way to make a new coordinate system the active one.   I also tried creating a new workplane and then orienting it in the appropriate direction and then pressing F8 to show the coordinate system of that plane (which is oriented as I need it to be) but then when I go to move the part the 3d copilot is orien

Has anyone used the Dell Precision M2800 laptop with Creo/Elements Pro(WF5)? I just received two and they lock up every few minutes when usingCreo/Elements Pro. Typically it locks up when I'm trying to spin or zoom.I suspect a graphics card driver issue. I purchased this model because it was a certified system, but I'mdisappointed so far. I am going through a nine part video titled: Video: Creo Direct Modeling Express, making a clock so that I can become familiar with Creo Elements / Direct Modelling Express. I am trying to learn and understand everything the author does in the video. In part 4 of the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh9pnhNXtjo) at about 8:40 the author pulls a part from a sketch on a workplane. But the part is created some distance away from the workplane, instead of right on the workplane. Why did that happen? Am I missing something? Hi all, when in the mesh there are more of one type of element (generally tetra) we have a different color of the elements: a different kind of blue. in creo 2 we have the possibility of generate a more detailed mesh, so we can use also wedge and brick elements. But I think wedges and bricks have the same colour.     It would be nice to have the possibility of deciding the colour of each element.
