I’m having an issue with trying to get a User defined parameter PIPE_DESCRIPTION from the linestock to the piping start part parameter DESCRIPTION.This is so when creating a pipe solid, each pipe part will have the PIPE_DESCRIPTION parameter value added to the DESCRIPTION parameter.Then I can bring this into my table BOM, along with all the other fittings and parts which have the same parameter.Is this possible or is there another way?I'm using Creo Parametric 10.0.4.0

Hi there, is there a way to deactivate "auto check in" in Windchill or in Creo 10?The thing with check in comments is, that our engineers tend to be lazy, when it comes to make "meaningful" comments.I tweaked the "custom check in" dialogue on the Windchill side to run some test on the comment, before it is accepted ( e.g. minimum length where "bla bla" does not count). But since there is this "auto check in" button in Creo, those lazy engineers can easily circumvent those tests. I already asked a similar question herehttps://community.ptc.com/t5/Customization/disable-quot-auto-check-in-quot/m-p/358999#M7254But the "solution" was not working for me. My hope is, that from Creo 3 to Creo 10 (and from Windchill 10 to 12) some things have changed ( and improved 🤞 ).

Is there a document that explains all of the trail file functionality in depth? I can only seem to find top level information but looking for something that actually describes the details of functions

Hi All,What I am trying to acheive is to create a text string and symbol to be used as an item from the sketcher palette. The scenario is this. I want be able to create sketch palette item which has a cavity number id reference # and the part number.However when I create the sketch for this and want to add text, it does not give me the option to add the parameter it only gives a text option. If I add the parameter name in the text box and save this to the sketcher palette. When I call up this sketch from the sketcher palette in a part, I do not get the part number from the parameter in the model, I just get the text ( &part_number).The part number is a parameter in my start part and subsequent modelled parts. The only way I can get this to work is to insert this sketch from the palette and then edit the inserted sketch by selecting the parameter.Is there a way to add the parameter to the sketch in the palette section, without the need to do a secondary edit. Any

Good morning everyone, i'm using the java j-link kit asynchronously to automate some task of Creo Parametric 9.0.7.0 (Java11).Is it possible get the window of Creo Parametric and convert to an HWND in JNA? My purpose is to move the windows of Creo Parametric in the screen and later resize them, i haven't finded a way to get the pointer to inizialize the HWND. How do you move the location where the note starts in a mm drawing template?  In our inch drawing template the note starts where we want (in the upper left corner).  However, in our mm drawing template the note starts in the lower left corner.  It isn't hard to move, but we want it to start in the same place everytime. Thanks!

I am developing a custom IFX fastener library. I want to build some fasteners in plastic material. I can easily change the parameter "MATERIAL" so that the string parameter would have any value, but I can't find a way how to actually set the model material in generated instances, so that the weight would be correct. So far i've tried:- assigning material in the source file that the instances get generated from- doing the previous but also adding a line to .dat file "MATERIAL NYLON66" (note that this material is currently assigned in the source part *.prt file, i haven't just used random name) However, the generated instances still get material "10_9" and density of steel. How could I set the plastic material in generated instances? @OliverGräbner  - you have been helping me on another thread with IFX, but since this is quite different topic I thoght it would make more sense to start a new thread. Thank you!

I'm looking for some documentation on how to install Creo 8 with Corretto (JRE 11 ).  I've searched the PTC website but I'm not finding it.  I'm looking for installaing a new setup, as well as converting an existing setup to not use Java, and use Corretto ( JRE 11 ).  If you can point me to a document I'll be happy to read and try it out.    Anyone able to help point me in the right direction.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks.

I didn't find any interface related to the Create_balloons function in my API wizard. I use Creo Parametric 4.0 version, I am trying to use VBAPI to create balloons by view automatically . Is there any interface can help me with that? Or other ways to take me there. 

Hi there, I installed the student version of Creo 8.0.4.0, I know that I do not have a cutting-edge computer to run some of the extensions of creo such as creo simulate live, creo render studio and others... that is why I just installed CREO PARAMETRIC. However, when the installation was done, I got the message INSTALLED WITH ERRORS, I opened the message to see what the error was and it showed: your computer doesnt support creo simulation liv ( I said it doesnt matter because I did not installed that extension) as I said before I just installed creo parametric. Therefore:1. I opened Creo to start getting familiar with the software, I clicked on CREATE NEW PART, then I scrolled up and down on the drop-down menu to select a TEMPLATE (I think it is for units selection) BUT I could not be able to select the template I wanted, it automatically asked me to select a template again, I TRIED to select a different one but nothing, then I DECIDED to click on and selected EMPTY and it worked,

I m struggling to find a way to create a single draft entity line on a drawing sheet.   Looking to create a line at 0,0 and go to 1,0 (x direction) or from 0,0 to 0,1 (y direction).   Can someone point me in the right direction?

I tried wrapping OTK C++ to create a dialog. What I learned is that it is possible to manipulate the user interface of CREO when setting the style of the dialog to uifcDIALOG_STYLE_PARENT_AND_MENU_MODAL. At the same time, when you open the dialog interface of other creo, the dialog created by OTK will be closed. In general, there are no exceptions as follows the sample code. LIKE：uifcCreateDialog, uifcActivateDialog, uifcExitDialog and uifcDestroyDialog return 0 andno exception is thrown.But I get an exception when I call the function uifcActivateDialog in a function that is rewrapped. I'd like the "T" shortcut to permanently be mapped to a command, not a map key. So I click on the command option. However, whenever I restart Creo, it forgets my selection and this dialogue box appears again. How do I make it remember my selection by default (automatically)? I am running Creo 10.  

I have CAD ( step/PVZ) models with parts which are composed of Facetset/Facet entities.I want to export the geometry as well as material data for these parts.I have got the API's to get the geometry data for them.I did not find the API to get the material/appearance properties of these kind of objects.There is one API ProSurfaceappearancepropsGet to get the appearance properties of the surface entities.But I did not get the similar API for the Facetset/Facet entities.Can anyone help me for this?

i am now trying to initial a function to get the dimension of pattern feature member, i can get the pattern member dimension of dimension pattern, direction pattern, but not point pattern.i'm not sure what the problem is ,maybe it is the handle that i'm using is wrong.for now i'm using:status = ProPatternHeaderGet(&pattern,&pFeature); it can successfully get the pattern member dimension for dimension pattern and direction pattern, but not point pattern.as the snapshot below, the dimension of pattern member is stored in sketch, now i don;t know how to get the sketch feature here.i tried ProPatternLeaderGet() function, it doesn't work.what is the difference between ProPatternHeader and ProPatternLeader, what function should i use to get the handle of the sketch for point pattern.many thanks for you all.
