Hi all, I am working on a data retrieval/CAD automation project, and currently I am using a combination of python with Creoson to extract bom data from Creo. Unfortunately, my company's CAD data is crawling with ghost parts which end up getting included in the output data and I haven't been able to come up with a good solution for filtering them out. I am able to find them manually via the find command as shown:The problem with this is that I have to manually go in and pick the parts using the feature info command or hover my mouse over to get the comp id and manually build a list that I can then use to filter the bom output. I would prefer if there were: A method to include the criteria I'm using in the find command to filter the output from Creoson's bom_get_paths function.A method to export the results of the find command with the comp id to an external file that I could read back into my python script to filter by.Or should I be working on cleaning out these gho

I am using Creo 10. I have a number of udfs meant for Hydraulic Manifold Block design ease. It is all independant udfs. I had started developing them from about 2005. It includes BSP/NPT ports, angle holes, holes within holes, cartridge cavities etc. It comes out with its own 3D note which can be pulled into the 2D drawings, thus ensuring data transmissibility. Hole tables are also creatable, with hole coordinates in each plane being measured from the centre of the block. Hi,  Our current drawings use stroke font as the default for drawings. But we need them to be with Truetype font. The reason behind it is that we need to manipulate the PDFs after Creo generating them. By simply use "use Truetype font" option during PDF export does not work well. The default Truetype font looks very different from the stroke font and also is much wider. Hence cause issues to fit into the table. Unfortunately, there is no option can change the default Truetype font. The only method is to change the default annotation font for the drawing.  The drawing default font is controlled by a ".dtl" file in each drawing. There is no universal setting that can change the font for all drawings all at once. That being said, the "dtl" file needs to be changed in every drawing one by one. I am having issues trying to open a UDF from a folder in our Windchill library.I get this error:'wtpub://PDM-PD/Libraries/COMMON CAD/CAD Documents/user defined features/90-4118-795-000' does not exist in the database.Caught exception: com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcExceptions$XToolkitGeneralError When I dig into the log, it looks like it is failing here:Exception of type com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.pfcExceptions$XToolkitNotFoundXPFC Message: pfcExceptions::XToolkitNotFound...at com.ptc.wfc.Implementation.WFCRemoteCommImpl.makeObject line: 5453 If I put the UDF "90-4118-795-000" into my working directory, it executes fine and places the UDF as expected. I have tried to retrieve the UDF in a sandbox code and get the same error, so it seems it is related to .gph files?I can retrieve .prt files fine, so I am looking for any ideas on how to resolve this issue.

Hi everyone, I'm working on automating a process using a batch file that will be triggered as a scheduled task. The steps I'm trying to automate are as follows: 1- Launch Creo Parametric (version 10.0.7.0)2- Start a tool that interacts with Creo to run it automatically in the background.3- Shut down the configurator.4- Shut down Creo itself. Parts 2 and 3 are not a problem: this tool was developed by our consultants using the Creo toolkit. It's simply a matter of invoking one batch file to start it and another to stop it. The issue is with the shutdown of Creo. I don't want to use a brute-force taskkill command to close Creo, as I'd prefer a more graceful and proper way to do it. I considered simulating keyboard shortcuts (such as Alt+F+X) to close the program, using either VBScript or AutoHotkey, but here's the catch: since this task will be running as a scheduled task, with no user logged in, none of these solutions will work because they require the UI to be accessibl

We run numerous versions of Creo (7, 10, & 11) to support various clients. The whole mapkey.pro change that PTC has made in Creo 11 has wrecked our config.pro system setup. We have a somewhat complicated setup, so without getting into that I will just explain exactly what I want to try to accomplish. I need to take the users config.pro files and separate them into 2 files; a config.pro with no mapkeys in it, and a mapkey.pro file. I need prior Creo 11 versions (specifically 7 & 10) to load the users mapkeys.pro file from the startin dir. Does anyone know a way I can achieve this? My goal is to keep all of the config.pro files neutral across all versions. I do not want to manage separate user config files for every version, this creates a admi file management nightmare for the way we have our system settings in place.

I would like to suggest an improvement in the Style module and have the Merge, Trim, Extend, Thicken Without a doubt, this would make things easier for users who use this feature. 

In PTC article CS363748 are for the various Creo main versions TOOLKIT sample projects attached.However, only the Debug configuration is preconfigured for these.   As our company is currently working with Creo 10.0, I have taken a closer look at the example project for this version.However, my statements also apply to the projects of the other versions.The Debug configuration can be compiled and linked, but in my opinion it is not correctly preset:The project setting "Configuration Properties > C/C++ > Runtime Libary" should be changed from "Multi-threaded DLL (/MD)" to "Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd)", shouldn't it?Even if this change is made, the project can still be successfully compiled and linked.However, if you then add the line "#include <string>" to the other header files at the beginning of the program code, the DLL can no longer be created and the following error messages appear in the output console:   Rebuild started...1>------ Rebuild All started:

I am using Creo 10.0.7.0.I have created a table in a Creo drawing where I want to enter values—particularly fractional values—in a specific format, as shown in the first image below. However, I haven’t been able to figure out how to achieve this formatting.I’ve tried adjusting the config.pro settings and other available options, but it's still not working. Currently, the values appear as shown in the second image. I hope you can see the difference in formatting between the two examples.

I need to start Creo, perform an analysis, create a graph, adjust a dimension value, rerun the analysis, and then output a file of the results. Hello, I need to make a toolkit that reads the information in an Excel file. I found some libraries in C that does that and I'm trying to use one of them. The one I'm trying to use is LIBXLS (https://github.com/libxls/libxls)This library doesn't give the compiled resources, you have to compile by yourself. After some effort I could compile the library using cygwin (gcc, make, etc...). At the end, I've got the .dll.a and the dll file and all the include files.When I try to use the library in a C program and compile it using gcc, the library works fine.But when I do the same thing to compile the toolkit, it doesn't work.I tryed to use gcc to compile the toolkit, but I couldn't because it depends of some libraries and I'm getting an error when importing the visual studio library libcmt. But the library is not working when I compile the program using the default cl and link from nmake file. What can I do to use the library inside the toolkit?Or there is another option t

I want to understand how difficult it would be to reproduce this functionality using the free version of JLink. Currently, we have some Smart Assembly licenses and use them for placing UDFs. How challenging would it be to achieve the same with JLink, so we can deploy to a larger group without relying on Smart Assembly licenses? Here is a sample bit of code that we use in Smart Assembly. Is it possible to suppress layers using relations or pro program?   I have a part with all of the features possible built in and I suppress the features I don't want using parameters, relations and the model pro program.    The problem I am having is when I need to add another feature to a group. When the new feature is added to the model tree in the existing group of features, the model program automatically adds an "end if" statement before the feature and the existing conditional statement after it. This essentially creates an island in the middle of the group that does not become suppressed with the group around it. On simple parts this is not a big deal as I can go in and fix it easily enough, but as the parts get more complex it gets much more complicated. Also, none of my coworkers are knowledgeable enough to editing pro programs at this time.   What I want to do is put all of the features that should be grouped together on a single layer and then just use re

How can I define a path as an environment variable for CUSTOMIZATION_PATH in the AFX module that is accepted? Currently, I have to set this option via Creo, but it should also be definable in the PSF file or via a startup script. Currently, the module does not accept this environment variable even though it is included in Creo.  

We started using IFX about a year ago and since then I have been improving and adding bolts and nuts to it. After some minor hiccups during the implementation, it works almost perfectly. All models are family table instances.But now a strange issue has turned up:After placing a sunken screw, which we don't use a lot (SCREWTYPE 60), all next screws (Hexagon, Cylinder head...) are placed "in" the material. The preview shows it already and, the distance constraint of the screw shows a strange value I do not recognize.  Accidentally I found out that the "issue" was solved by once selecting the Coach bolt. It is not even necessary to place the Coach bolt, but only selecting it from the menu, and then selecting the desired bolt solves the issue and brings the system back to its normal state. When investigating I found out that for the Coach bolt I used the "non existend" SCREWTYPE 92. But it works fine!

Hi all,I have an assembly and its associated drawing with same name. I'm trying to develop a toolkit program that replaces assembly component using interchange groups. I wanted to check if the following workflow is possible using Creo and Mathcad, and whether any customization is needed.Use Case:Let’s say I am designing a pressure vessel, where key parameters such as diameter, height, and thickness are determined through design calculations.Now, the thickness is calculated based on a formula in Mathcad, and I do not need to create a 3D model of the pressure vessel. My company is wanting to start modeling wiring harnesses in 3D. My plan was to add the connectors into the CAD model with an axis at each point where a pin would be. My current problem is I don't know what to do about the terminals and the locking mechanisms for the terminals (like the small plastic piece you shove in a Deutsch connector so the pins don't come out). I would really rather not add the terminals and locks into CAD just because there just such tiny pieces. We have part numbers for each lock and terminal, would it be possible to somehow add that information to the connectors Creo file? So once the 2D drawing is made is can pull in and show the connector the terminal and the lock when you make one of those tables? Thanks in advance 

Is it possible to establish an asynchronous connection to another host running Creo? The functions used are ProEngineerConnect & ProEngineerConnectIdExtract & ProEngineerConnectIdGet.The test with the tool nmsq.exe on another host fails:nmsq.exe -host MARVIN -queryERROR: NMS client: could not connect to the Name Server. (host MARVIN, port 31239)on the local host the tool is successful, but only if the hostname is specified, with the ip it does not work locally either 

Hi, I encountered an issue when I tried to insert a note to our drawing.  When we are using the same drawing for different project, I like to create a "stamp" like note on the drawing to indicate which project this drawing is used for. With the following code, I can set font height but cannot change the font.
