Hello, Is is possible to make a drawing in Creo 9 of an assembly made in Catia v5? I'm making an component for a client. The component consists of two sheet metal plates that are cut and welded together and then applied a gasket. An assembly in Catia contains solids and surfaces that represent the plates and welding paths. I modeled the components in Catia v5 r28 and the customer uses Creo 9. The advantage of having it in creo would be that the client can open and edit the drawing directly. But I assume there is some loss in reliability and functionality when working across softwares like this.
HiWhen I create a section view in the drawing the hatch will create for regions that are not necessary and these regions are part of cut exclusions in standards. What should I do to prevent cut exclusions in drawing when I create a 2D draft and section view and prevent hatches on these regions?
In my company I have to draw some pieces that are similar to others. GD&T is very important so we use as reference a similar part to take those tolerances into account and to know what to annotate and what not to. Is there a way to make an automatic drawing or a drawing of a part using the similar part as reference, automatically? Even though I have to adjust some details it will save me a bunch of time.
I have a fairly simple drawing with a repeat region showing mass properties (see attached screen dump)I have one column for the total weight (part weight x rpt qty).To avoid adding assembly weights to the parts weights, I have set the assembly weight to zero and the column only list the parts' weights. The total wight of the main assembly is calculated separately and listed in the drawing head asTotalvikt = 154,02 kg.When I add the weights in the column they add up to the same as Totalweight which is what I would expect. However, when the repeat region summation does the same adding up it gives the result = 93,05 kg.I have tried various assemblies but there is always a difference between Totalvikt and the summation result.I have not been able to find any logic between the two different results. Can somebody tell me what is wrong?I am using Wildfire 3.4HELP!!
Hello,i am new to engineering and tend to get the simple yet difficult things confuse. If you ever have a parent/children drawing for updates, whats the best way of remembering it?Ex: if you have a casting drawing which is referenced on a machined drawingEx: if you have a complete finished good along with packaging and let's say a sub component in a finish good changes, will it rev up packaging?in theory, in my assumption.. if a parent is affected, all children gets affected.. if a child 1 gets affected and there are other children underneath it... the parent won't get affected but anything under child 1 will. Please help with feedback. I appreciate your time and efforts
Hi, i am Creo elements/Direct Modeling Express- beginner.I want to move the 2D drawing on the 1st workplane to other workplane, so that I do not have to redraw it.Please somebody teach me how!
Good evening, Is there a document that explains the keywords of a xml file describing the part of the ribbon of a company module (that can be found in the installation directory (eg C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo Elements\Direct Drafting 20.4.1.0\Modules\)?The reason is that Drafting used to die on my pc when I add or modify a panel on the ribbon of my module. Also, I personally think that modifying with a text editor the xml file is easier. Another question: is it possible to have several language in the same xml file, the language being automatically selected by Drafting according to the current locale (similar to the DGETTEXT system?Should be possible, since changing the locale on Drafting with CHANGE_LOCALE do change the labels on the ribbon.
Hallo are there any news on it ? Reference link Proxy error still appears after new installation on any machine manual activation for 72 hours not possible as the generated key is not valid what a paine, no chance to access my data anymore at all !!! looking forward for any good news BENNO
Hi, We need to convert a large number of old .mi drawings created with Creo Elements/Drafting 18.1.I done some research i i found 3 ways to do that. 1) Use PTC Creo, open the files and do "save as" and select .dwg in file format.2) Install Creo Elements Direct Modeling Express 8.0 and use dxfdwg.exe that is a tool to convert different file type.3) Reinstall Creo Elements/Drafting 18.1, open the files and do "save as" and select .dwg in file format. Of this 3 method there is one that is better in terms of quality(precision, quotas, errors, missing elements, etc) of the converted file ?If there are other ways to do that please le me know. Thanks for the support. Best Regards Giacomo Ceresola
Hi all.How do I create an arc length dimension and add the symbol to the dimension text?I need similar to the 250 dim in the attachment. Thanks
Ok, I'm new to Creo, but not parametric CAD. I'm a one man operation and I can do the modeling part, but I was suprised there were no drawing formats supplied with Creo. Is there a place I can get drawing formats without creating them from scratch? Even the tutorials only show importing *.dxf for creating the formats, not from scratch.
Hi Experts,In Drawing sheet i need to find the Grid location where the notes is placed. Using Vb api, Toolkit Code Or Macro. Help me to find it out. Thanks in Advances.Regards,Sujithkumar.N
For those who prefer the ribbon user interfaces (PELOOK 4), a tab has been added. I had included two xml files, one English, one French. Because I do not know how to localise.I tried po and mo files at various location with BINDTEXTDOMAIN, but that did not work. Can anyone help? To be downloaded from http://kotom.eng.free.fr/
Hi All,in the "Creo Elements/Direct Drafting DWG/DXF Translator" manual (dxfdwg.pdf), its mentioned in the appendix "Hints and Tips for Translating MI to DXF/DWG" on page 65: “A dimension with a superfix, subfix or prefix is translated into geometry.” Does this apply to a radius like “R5" as well, or are there other ways to convert radii and diameters to a dimension when exporting mi to dwg? Useful Hints will be highly appreciated!
Creo Direct 20.5.1.0For a deeper error analysis in ME10 CAD-files (file extension *.mi) we are looking for a file specification in which the individual components, especially the dimensions and tolerance segments (DTV) and the structure of an mi file, are described in more detail. Where can we find such a mi file reference/specification?
Hi, I'm looking to make Ref as qty for the part number by using repeat region or relations in parametric table - in the following below cases. 1. Standalone 2 different assemblies in one parametric table 2.Fig assemblies consist of 2 or more instance assembly in one parametric table. Please respond if you find a solution.
Multi-sheet capabilities are available in all other 2D Drafting Tools like AutoCAD, Creo Elements Direct Drafting should also get this capability at the earliest. It is a very basic requirement for any 2D Drafting Tool. Moreover it is already there in Creo Element Direct Modeling Tool, So it just has to be extended to Creo Elements Direct Drafting Tool.
Greetings In the classic interfaces mouse + tablet (-pelook 1), you can paste a "text" that is in the Windows clipboard by pressing the middle mouse button/wheel in the text line or in the Me10 editor. Is there another way to do this pasting? Reason: We (still) use the tablet, there this is particularly awkward. That means after you have selected and copied the text and are back in ME10, select the desired action with the pen; then put the pen away ; take mouse and position cursor at desired place, press middle mouse button/wheel to paste; put mouse away and then take pen again to continue working..So I'm was looking for something like an INQ-query (which unfortunately doesn't exist) that I could put into a macro and trigger from the tablet or keyboard. Is it somehow possible to write the clipboard content to a file that can be accessed with OPEN_INFILE ? I am currently doing this in a macro:PASTE_FROM_CLIPBOARD NOSUBPART Specifying a point where there is nothing else. What is then found
Cannot show thick cables in an exploded assembly drawing view. They show up as thin lines.
For those who prefer the Unix user interfaces (PELOOK 0 ou 1), a menu has been added. To be downloaded from http://kotom.eng.free.fr/
Does anybody knows what are the steps and which files generally Creo Element Drafting follow to start?Mainly I'm trying to have at the startup of the application the old original Black background in the Me10 style. Thanks!Marco
Hi, How to add arc length symbol in the drawing as shown in red loop in the attached snap. Please explain step by step. (CREO ELEMENTS) Regards,Nidhin
Is there a way to create a Variable Text Pattern? I have cosmetic text that I have patterend but I need to change each of the number values. For example, if I have an alpha-numerical text that's been pattered 3 times, such as TB1..TB1..TB1is there a way to change each number value to TB1..TB2..TB3?I can't seem to find a way to change the value of each pattern instance. Regards, -Cory R
Hi, I would like to know how a radial arc length dimension can be shown in a drawing view in creo elements also would like to know how circles or any isolated lines can be made hidden or removed from a main body surface in a drawing. Thank you.
