I am creating a document with multiple excel files embedded. My fifth excel file is not showing the correct information when I exit excel and return to Mathcad. Whenever I am in excel it seems to show the correct information but it is only when I exit does it revert back to a random tab. Out of the five excels embedded, this is the only one doing this. Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it? View from Mathcad with excel closed: View from Mathcad with excel open (this is what I want to show all the time):
Hi all, Can anyone tell me where is the small button to update the browser page? Or, maybe, it automatically updates, unlike the previous one in which there was the update button? Thank you
At the top level of (for example) mathcad there is no date and time information about the posts. All we get is this: If we look at the post, the only information is "2 weeks ago": We are a bunch of engineers and scientists, and could do with a little more precision than that. Is it possible to change it so that we see the actual date and time of the post, and preferably on the home screen?
Why, can only upload video with MP3 or MP4 extension? Those with AVI extension are forbidden ....? In short ... Every good software should have a comprehensive guide or help.... it is not possible that when you encounter a problem you have to interrogate ..... the oracle .....

This is an introduction to the topic, not devoid of errors. Indeed, if someone, very kindly tell me, simply by writing the equation number, I will be very grateful to him.Thank you for your attention and kind regardsFranc
by Mathcad StaffAbout this worksheet:Calculates the force and stress on connection jointsUsed in truss design, joints, and bucklingIncorporates in-line programming and error checking (with the “if” function)This worksheet using PTC Mathcad helps you to calculate the force and pressure on a connection joint within the specified dimensions of the joint for a particular material, and under particular trusses and weld lengths. Given the geometry of the connector and the material properties, this worksheet demonstrates how to determine whether the force on the joint will cause buckling. You can modify this worksheet and adjust it to fit your own needs by entering:The connection yield strengthThe diameter of the baseThe diameter of the riserThe height of the riserThis worksheet includes step-by-step instruction on how to calculate for the force on the joint, the pressure on the joint, and the allowable pressure before buckling. All formulas are included along with an example and solutio
i have a permanent license for MC Prime 3.0 and temporary one for 4.0 and both versions of prime are installed. when i locate and apply the temporary 4.0 license to prime 4.0, my 3.0 installation also takes this temporary license. when i apply my 3.0 license in 3.0, it modifies the license applied to 4.0 rendering it unlicensed. can i apply different license files to side by side versions of Prime??
Dear All,I am new to both MathCAD and the problem in hand, so have some novice questions and also hoping for some general strategy and where-to-go-from-here guidance …I’ve derived an equation of motion for a mechanism, which is a 2nd order, non-linear ODE. It’s an M-C-K type equation describing both angular and linear motion. I’ve rewritten it with all angular terms re-defined as linear terms which has made it quite cumbersome. I want to solve for displacement and time.I tried using Odesolve, but couldn’t make this work with the full ODE (smaller chunks tested the syntax as OK, but seems it can’t cope with the full equation). I’ve now manually re-written it as a 1st order equation and use rkfixed which seems to work. It's probably not the most elegant/efficient approach so will appreciate any suggestions for improvement here.I stripped all units out while trying to make Odesolve work, and haven’t yet attempted to reinsert them, is doing so advisable with rkfixed?
Dear All,Has anyone encountered the error "The requested file is not a valid MathCAD XML worksheet" when trying to open a previously OK file?I've lost a couple of days work to this now over the last month so would appreciate any suggestions! My machine spec if relevant is:W7 enterprise, SP1, 64 bit with Intel X5680 CPU @ 3.33 GHzThanks in anticipation,Standish.
recently upgraded from Win7 to Win10. Prime 2 installed and activated fine. after opening a new sheet. i get an error for any function i create.even in the expression "x:=5" gives the error "this variable is undefined..." see attached.maybe a setting somewhere??
Hi everybodyI usually use Combo boxes in mathcad 15, bu t the problem is that if you choose something in there even after you save your file , the combo box selection will back to the default when you open it again ( because of script behind it)for example in below image what should I write in script to keep my choose before last save?any help in this regards will be highly appreciatedThanks
HiWe use MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) exclusively for reports and use OLE to insert Mathcad 15 objects into documents since they must be achieved in a Laboratory Information System database which would not know what to do with a Mathcad document or how to view it. Looking at migrating to Mathcad prime 4.0 and there seems to be no OLE functionality natively in the product. Is OLE some feature that needs to be enabled or an add-on that needs to be installed? I did see some sort of add-on for Excel OLE download, but have not tried it. At first look I already hate Mathcad Prime 4.0 due to the totally new UI, but could get used to that if I had too. If it does not natively support OLE with other Windows programs it would appear to be totally useless in the real world, where Microsoft Office is a standard. I am hoping that PTC has not made the marketing mistake of not making Mathcad Prime OLE compatible and instead offering the free Mathcad Express version hoping their
This is in relation to the product idea: Switch Statement in Mathcad Prime, that for some reason I cannot vote for (nor against), possibly because I have no active maintenance contract with PTC...The switch statement is not needed. Here's an example of the same functionality (in Mathcad 11, bet it works also and likewise in Mathcad 15 and Prime):Note that Mathcad (Prime alike) normally works with reals, possibly complex, or even vectors and matrices, rarely with integers. The only occasions where integers are required are in indexing vectors and matrices. It doesn't even require integers with the summation operator:So instead of the switch statement, formulate your problem using an array.Luc
I have created a Creo model using a Mathcad Prime external analysis that calculates a parametric Bezier-curve based upon Creo parameters. I am using the Bezier-curve to create specific geometry inside my model. The trouble I am having is that I always need to update/ regenerate my model twice for the geometry to change based upon the Creo parameters changing - the first regeneration updates the Mathcad analysis, the second one updates the geometry. Is there a way to force Creo to update/ regenerate the model until no further changes (neither Mathcad results nor subsequent geometry) occur. Thanks for any hint you might have to alleviate this issue.Kind regards,Carsten
One question! Can we get answer here ln(100m)= ?Yes, if we have ln(100m)-ln(1m)=How see please ln(100m/10m)=...Second question! Can we get answer here e^(100m)= ?Yes, if we have ....What is it ...?
How can I further simplify to display less cluttered output.
The display of an imaginary number lying on the negative side of the imaginary line is incorrect when set to decimal. The negative sign seems to be omitted. (General, Scientific, and Engineering all display correctly)
Hi all,I am getting error as 'This value must be a scalar in polyroots function'.Please can anyone help me.I attached my mathcad code below.
Hi, I made a spreadsheet that are applicable only for 2 or more inputs . As you can see, when I have a single case my spreadsheet the error ask the value must be a vector. What should I add in the program, so that the spreadsheet will compute even if I have a single case only.
I am using MathCad 15 and am working on some simple calculations to get used to the MathCad environment and syntax since I am pretty new to using MathCad.Unfortunately I ran into a seemingly small problem to which I can't find a satisfying solution:I defined a function f(t) which I wanted to plot in a 2D-XY-diagramm. Since t is predefined as ton (t=10^3 kg) I get an error trying to plot my function f(t) over t.Is there any way I can redefine or erase t so I can use it as a variable to plot my diagramm? I know I could use any other variable, but it just bothered me that I cannot use t for time.Thank you very much in advance!
I can input - and 2- as subscripts. But not +I have not find + as superscript hereSolution?
The power of Mathcad in solving complicated design problems is very well known. This worksheet will show the design of a coaxial gapped core fed from a central straight conductor. The primary current is 500 A. and the power transferred is 50 KW. This can be used to charge battery vehicles and could find other applications as well.I did my first WPT since 40 years ago using high power valve oscillator but this one is based on inductive coupled coils.I hopw you will enjoy reading it.Kind regards to all of you.
Is there a way to copy the plot properties from one plot to another like the format painter function in MSWord? I have a ton of plots on numerous sheets, each with multiple traces that need to have certain color scheme, trace thickness, etc. duplicated on all of them. This is too cumbersome. Hopefully this can become a standard function in Mathcad (15 or Prime).Another cool feature would be a direct link provided on the help menu for "feature search/request" that would let the user browse through the existing feature requests and add a new one if was not already there.Thanks.
Help please to solve this ODEs task. The first try (Prime 3.1) in attach
