Mathcad

Hi, everybody.I met with an issue on solving for flue gas temperature which is the upper limit of an integral within an equation.but when I deleted some items in the equation, the answer can be given by the solver block.I m confused with this for a couple of days. Is this caused by the unit system? It seems that using dimensionless numbers takes effect, but this is not very convenient.The attached file is in mathcad 15 format.Does anybody give any suggestion on this problem?

I am solving a system of ODE's. Solutions look good (I am checking against plots in a book) except when I plot two of the output functions against each other to get a phase plane plot. Changing range of axes does not seem to help. Range of axes does not correspond to range for the individual functions. What am I missing?

MathCAD Prime 3.1 crashes on activating "Text formatting" font style dropdown-list and typing in the font name.  This depends on whether I have opened an existing document or a new untitled document. Hello everyone.I'm having a problem solving a tiny equation with units and hope you can help me find where I go wrong.As you can see on the picture I get the right answer if I isolate Alpha myself, so I'm guessing that its how I do things that is the problem.Sorry its in danish, but its says "Angle acceleration under breaking of a flywheel and axel"The values on the top are defined further up in the document."I" is inertia.

We are a hole group of students in Denmark, who wonders if the calculation service in the program can show the equation with the specific numbers used in the equation? The new policy rules in the Danish education environment demands numbers in the equation, but we can't find the specific settings to change this problem. I have a program that uses the Find(x) function to solve for the allowable length of a beam whose design is based on a series of moments and shears.  The file attached is a very simplified version of what I am trying to do in the actual program.  One of the constants (in this case y) is a vector of fixed values.  I want to solve the system of equations for x using the three different values of y and store each of the results for x in a new vector.  Can someone assist me in developing the correct notation to get the desired solution?Thanks,Derek

Hi All, does Mathcad provide any GUI/control for us to implement this kind of basic calculation? It is easy to do in the equations, but am not sure if it is feasible to be realized in a GUI or a control panel? I attached the worksheet for this question as well.Thank you!

Hi All, I have a question about judging a value to meet specific criteria, would anyone advise how to implement it? I attached the example in this thread.In this worksheet, we have the radio button to choose an X value. Y is defined as a function of X. We want to search the proper X, by which the  obtained Y value will be closest (but smaller than) 200. How can we implement this and let MathCAD return the proper X value? Thank you!

Hello,I am working from a Naval Architecture book which gives a problem to which I want to use MatCAD Prime to go through the problem myself (as the book has no explanation).The initial expression is:KM=0.5T+B^2/12TWhere the expressions are:KM is a naval arch term which represents the distance from the Keel of a ship to the MetacentreB is the Breadth of the ShipT is the Draught.The book gives a plot of the above expression for a ship with a breadth (B) of 15 and shows how as T increases KM reduces to a point.The book goes on to state that you can find the draught (T) when KM is at its lowest value by differentiating the above expression with respect to T and equating to zero. It then gives this as:dKM/dT = 0.5-B^2/12T^2and states in the example of a ship with B of 15 the answer would be 6.12.I however cannot work out how this was derived or how to use MatCAD to solve such a problem.Any advice warmly welcomed.Andy

My home computer is a Mac.  I run Mathcad 14 in XP inside VMware Fusion.  About all I do inside XP is Mathcad.  I am considering upgrading XP to Windows 10 (ok, flushing XP and buying a copy of Windows 10).  Will Mathcad 14 work under Windows 10?
