Mathcad

Hi all,This is my first post on the forums and I wanted to ask a general question on gaining proficiency in Mathcad.In a nutshell, I am an experienced Project Engineer by profession (mainly mechanical & structural bias) but in order to widen my skill set, I have recently been training part-time in Finite Element Analysis, which I enjoyed immensely. To complement this, I asked my colleagues which packages would best complement my new skills in FEA and ANSYS software and Mathcad was one which came highly recommended. With all of this in mind, I wanted to ask if any of you can offer advice and hopefully point me in the right direction (ie. training courses, PDFs available online) so that I can work on Mathcad from the ground up. I am completely self-financed and so I am looking to do this on a tight budget, but I am motivated and can devote more than enough time to making this happen. Hi......I am attempting to create a single vector from a two column array. The fist column contains the values  and the second column the occurrences associated with each value. I have attached a worksheet , in MathCAD 15,  that shows what i am attempting to do. I can solve the problem by performing each row of the array separately but hit a snag when trying to program the same. Would appreciate help in solving the program error I have.Thanks in advance for helpDick Cunningham

In the attached worksheet there is a plot error (Plotting failed. Replace complex values and NaN by real numbers.) I've tried using failterNaN to remove the NaNs. Is there a way to remove the complex results?

Dear PTC experts, i would like to ask your invaluable pertinent to the attached file. In this problem, i am evaluating Zpq for a frequency (f:=2.45*10^9), the value of Zpq turns out to be complex and i have seperated the real and imaginary parts. I would further like to evaluate Zpq for a frequency range i.e., from 2.2*10^9-2.6*10^9 with step size of 0.5*10^9. Moreover, i would like to plot Zpq against the mentioned frequency range. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated. Many thanks

hey lads, attached is my picture again. I cant post the sheet due to certain calculations. And my main problem is that I am using global assignment for definition as I needed to show a summary of checks from the back of the sheet at the front page. My main problem is if I could global assign the angle that I used the FIND function to calculate. The blue highlighted area are the parts where I have to manually input the angle. I want to global assign so that the next user does not need to manually insert the angle.

Hello, Recently i had to bring back the initial settings on my computer wich delated all the installed software. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. "What's the issue and how can i fix this problem? My operating system is windows 10 64bit.

I'm not sure whether this question should go under "Electrical Engineering", "Algebra & Geometry" or "Mathcad Usage"...I'm fairly new to MathCAD and I would like to learn how to plot a PQ Generator Capability Curve and RX impedance diagrams, similar to what is shown in the attachments, using both - formulas and data points. Can anyone recommend any reading material that explains how to create these types of graphs in MathCAD? If this is simple enough, an explanation in this thread would also be great.I have both, MathCAD 15 and Prime 3.1, and would prefer to learn it in Prime 3.1.

How can I centrally align the letters on the x-axis of a chart with the grid markers? At present the letters get shifted to the right of the grid markers. I would like them to be centrally aligned with the markers.

Hello, i'm new in using Mathcad, i just need to solve 8 equations with 8 unknowns(sound simple),but i don't know the right syntax to get the output, i tried several ones that i found in the help and tutorial but none is working, some syntax gives me my initial guess as the output and other syntax does nothing.still the problem isn't only the syntax, i have no clue what should be the initial guess the solution is either very large or very small ( Pico or Giga maybe larger or smaller even), so is Mathcad able to solve such thing?below is the attached worksheet. I am trying to export my worksheet information into a MS Word document.  I am using Win7 OS, Prime 3.1, and MS Word 2013.  I only see options to work with MS Excel.I did a Snipping Tool but the background is gray/green in color, not the same as the page format of Word.  This won't work for my customers who expect a clean report.In older versions of MCAD I could copy and paste but this version doesn't seem to allow the paste feature.r/

Normally recursive function can be evaluate symbolically without problems, likeBut it looks that the symbolics has troubles with the sum - I get the "generic" variable-undefined error at first hand and when I trace, Mathcad moans that "This function refers to itself inconsistently".As far as I remember this effect was discussed here quite a while ago in the good old collab days, but I was unable to find that thread.Is there any explanation for this effect and does an elegant workaround exist?The only workaround I could find was to replace the sum by a self written summation loop, which I don't consider elegant.Writing a user function sum() in som way could be an option, but would slow down calculations which, when evaluated symbolically, take very long anyway.RegardsWerner

What is the proper way (in Prime 3.1) to create an if statement that compares the values of a vector to a single value? Please see the attached photo for a better description.
