Mathcad

I'm using MathCAD 15 in Windows 7 environment. I'm trying to create a vector using a range variable or at least that's what I think I'm doing. I thought I could set up a similar command sequence in user defined function as below:But as you can see in my user defined function, MathCAD is not happy with me or range variables don't work the same way in a user defined function as they do in the regular environment.

Hi, I have a problem with using solve block find function multiple inputs, May I know what is the problem? thanks

In the attached Mathcad Prime 3.1 single page worksheet (with pdf print) I am attempting to find the centroid of multiple distributed loads on a beam. The equations work for a single distributed load but I am attempting to make them work for as many distributed loads as the user would like to enter into the worksheet. The Azz vector is changed so that there is not division by zero. The error on f(x) is that it must be an integer. I have attempted to use the vectorize to get around this. Is there another way to make this work?

Dear all,I have a problem with the 3D iteration. Firstly, I construct an initial jxk matrix. Then, I try to iterate the matrix and to build up a nested matrix. I don't understand where the problem is and I am wondering if there is a better way to program this idea. I have attached the file. Thank you very much for your kind help!!

Hi there, I have a couple of calculation sheets and I am trying to incorporate them into a summary sheet. If I include sheet 1 first, it returns the valves from that included sheet. However if I include sheet 2 below it some of the values are failing saying that the variable is undefined, however it clearly is.  (Summary 1) If you look at Summary 2 however I have reversed the order of the included sheets and the opposite happens ?????Has anyone got an idea as to what the issue could be?? Its annoying because it says that there are errors in the worksheet but there isn't. I am actually trying to summarise 6 sheets, these are just two of them .Cheers

I am trying to use rnorm to create a vector of random numbers.The vector should have (density) units of lb/ft^3.  For some reason when I attempt to give the sigma and mu values units of lb/ft^3, the numbers come out incorrect and without the desired units.  Where should I look to fix this?Thanks,Jason

A while back, I did a post on what software my students wanted to use in a graduate class on technical math.  They unanimously chose MATLAB over Mathcad because they perceived (correctly, I think) that MATLAB is pretty much the standard for technical computing.  I warned them that there was definitely a learning curve, but that MATLAB is extremely powerful.  At the time, they primarily valued the universality of MATLAB and weren't worried about ease of use.Fast forward to the last exam of the semester.  I wrote the exam solution using Mathcad and it was a very simple task, but they tried to work the exam in MATLAB (it was a take home exam).  I inadvertently wrote a couple problems that were easy to solve in Mathcad, but very hard to program in MATLAB.  By the end of the week, they were in my office asking if it was alright to use Mathcad.  Basically, the ease of use won them over.  Good news, indeed.I'm finding that the biggest practical barrier

I'm using MathCAD 15 and Windows 7. From this statement in the help files regarding Nested Arrays:Most of Mathcad's operators and functions do not work with nested arraysAm I correct to conclude that I can't build a nested array using assignment statements? For instance I have test data that includes long periods of quiescent data intermixed with events of interest. I want to strip off the quiescent data and return a nested array of columns of varying lengths (time) of the event data to get around MathCADs limitation of only returning one value or entity from a program.

hi...I want to have a table in mathcad that for example when  variable b=3 then open a  3*3 table with no data or I can edit its data,is it possible in mathcad 15?

Mathcad M040 does not like my file. Is there a better way of doing this?

Hello everyone! I'm still struggling with with my problem. Let's say, I have to solve this. I need at least 7-8 first solutions of this equation. I could use given/find, but I would like to change parameter Bi in the future and then I would have to change guess values as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance I was trying this method (there's different Bi, that's why soultions don't match the first photo), but I'm not sure, if I can get anywhere with it.Thanks in advance and cheers,Peter
