Hello guys, I'm a newbie and I want to ask how to read these mcdx files with MathCad. I can't get them open in MathCad.. Any idea? Original Post
Hello, I was able (with some help from the community 🙂 to solve a single ODE using a MathCAD 5.0 Solve Block but now I want to solve a system of 3 ODE's but I am getting an error (see attached file). I suspect I am making some newbie error. If someone can enlighten me as to what that error is and tell me how to do the calculation correctly, it would be much appreciated. TIA, --Doug
On the MCad15 version I used to use Combobox (Microsoft form component) linked to Excel to feed the control as database.I have noticed that Prime 7 has its own Combobox with some limited input options and does not allow import MSforms as object.Does anybody has any recommendation for this topic or it's something that could be included in new releases? Thanks in advance
This seems to be a bug. Prime 7 won't plot degree C or F on the x-axis of a plot. (Kelvin and Rankine work fine). And degree C/F seem to work fine on the y-axis. (I know degrees are technically functions and not units in mathcad, but this worked in version 4. ) Is this a bug or a quirk? any workaround (besides using absolute temp - which isn't very practical) Prime 4 file attached. open in 5-7 and refresh and you should see the error. Thanks,
How do you create dot variables? One dot on top of the variable indicates first derivative, two dots, the second derivative. I'm using Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0.Thanks!Jack SmithKaty, TX
Hello! Is there a way to change the inline division sign from this "÷" to that "/" ?I saw arguments about the slash sign can be misread to 1, but as is the division sign can be misread to +.It would be great to be able to change the operator styles as we please.Or can I find the files where the operator characters are stored, so I could override them manually?P.m. Im using Prime version. The goal is to be able to see the following: x/y, and not x÷y.
Hi. I have been encountering some odd issues while copying expressions and eqautions in Mathcad Prime. It would seem that everytime I copy an expression containing a variable it doesnt fully understand how to work with it afterwards. This has been accouring both on Mathcad Prime 6 and 7. Its quite hard to explain and show for that matter. But let say that I define a function f(x)=23x. If I were to copy this expression from and, let say differentiate it, and afterwards create an equation from the output, it would be unable to understand x, as if x now has another meaning. This works fine if I abstain from copying the expressions and instead write them manually. I have attached a small expample of this happening as a PNG. I have failed to find a solution myself, but I have a slight feeling that it might be because of the PC that Im using.
Hello! There is something wrong with the plot of the function (look at the attached file). When "x" is defined from 0 to 10 the plot looks correct. But when I define "x" from -10 to 10 plot looks like a straight line.Where did I make a mistake during the plot? Best regards,Sergey
Is it possible to use colan (:) symbol in literal subscripts for defining variable in Mathcad Prime directly ?
You may have some insight regarding an issue I have experienced with both Windows 8 an10 with MCAD15-050. decoupling taskbar items such as the "calculator". When I do so by selecting with the left mouse button, there is an empty context box that is offset from the mouse location. This box moves with the mouse but the location of the "calculator" context window is where the mouse is positioned when the left mouse button is released.
Hey I'm having trouble with the shortcut for vectorization. It says to press ''Ctrl+Shift+^'', but how do i press ''^'', when I press the bottom whit ^¨~ on, it puts ''CONTINUE'' in... i I have tried to press ''Ctrl+Shift+alt+94'', and it does not work either. hope some have a solution to my problem.
HiCould someone please convert the attached MC15 file to Prime 8 and advise if the drop down list works in Prime 8Thank you.
Hi,I'm wondering how to upgrade to MathCAD 8. Thanks, -DS
Good night, I'm having problems when performing calculations with complex numbers, the application is returning wrong values for division operations with complex numbers
Hi there- these two files are not passing through the converter. I have absolutely no idea why. I have tried removing the plot and plotting function from the soil force mathcad15 sheet but that had no impact on the conversion and its still failing. Any and all help is appreciated.
I have a set of 4 equations which are used to determine the relation between Bèta and Delta_L.Now I have to generate a list of values for alpha and through x2' and beta + y2' I am able to calculate Delta_L. For any value of Delta_L I then need to interpolate to get to the approximate solution. I would however prefer to have a direct correlation between Delta_L and Bèta without alpha (if possible of course). Thought the symbolic engine might be able to help but to be honest it's been a while since I last used it so I'm stuck. I have attached the formulas in the attached calculation sheet. Any help is kindly appreciated.
Hello all, I am having a bit of an announce with my header/footer in Prime 7.0.0. I have embedded the file name in the footer of my routines. Every time I open the routine the text block containing the file name 'resets' to a single line and part is not visible on the printed page. Is there a way to lock the text block to prevent this from occurring? It is not major but having to re-size the block every single time is annoying. Thanks in advance for the help
Every time I run Prime 8 it opensPTC Mathcad Prime 8.0 | Mathcadhttps://community.ptc.com/t5/forums/postpage/board-id/PTCMathcadHow do I stop it doing that? I am currently on Express as we work out the licensing details.
I am trying to solve for the length of a headed stud using a solve block with a constraint equation. The image below is from the attached worksheet and shows the solve block and the error message when I try to solve the equation. I would appreciate any corrections or suggestions on setting up the solve block correctly.
HiHow do I select which particular loops to skip. Depending on a condition I may want to skip loop "k" or "j" or "k" AND "j" and just get the next "i"How do I go about doing that in similar scenario to below:
Hi,I have been working for maybe a month now on my worksheets for geotechnical calculations and so far, with the support I have been getting from this community, I have been progressing very well so thank you ! Now I wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions on how I can present my data like this (see image below). I believe it would look better rather than presenting it this way (see below). So basically I wanted to create a graph that can provide the bearing capacity with respect to varying footing width sizes. I have attached the mathcad file below. You can go directly to the last page of the sheet. Thank you in advance!
Hello Experts, Somehow I am getting error in Mathcad Prime but it used to work with my 14 application
Each package gives quite different "simplifications" to a complex variable quotient. Old Mathcad defaults to a sixth order Series but Prime8 produces a shorter result that is quite different from that of 15M050.The error seems to be a function of the quotient complexity. I am careful to run both packages side by side on a new HP Envy laptop as I try to transition to Prime8 while writing a patent disclosure. This error makes Prime8 unusable for what I do.Has anyone else seen this?
Let’s face it, planetary gears are cool. They are used in all kinds of mechanisms, including transmissions, motors, and turbines. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to use Mathcad to build a worksheet that calculates the gear ratios and output speeds of a planetary gear under different configurations. The math behind the gear ratios is straightforward. But users should be able to select: The sun or planet carrier as the input; The planet carrier or ring as the output; and, The ring, sun, or planet carrier as the stationary component. How can the user select the desired component? How can you add intelligence to the worksheet to prevent an incorrect combination of input, output, and stationary? What inputs do you want for your calculator? You will have to make some choices. Your choices could include: Number of planets Number of teeth Component diameters Module / pitch Tools that you might consider include Combo boxes, programs, and functions involving strings. Here
