Mathcad

First I want to apologize as I did send the same message 30 minutes ago but as I do not see it in the message list I am unsure whether it went through. I would like to solve this equation (a*b+c*x^d)/(b+x^d)=y for x. In mathematica this went smoothly but not with Mupad (see worksheet). Could one of the more proficient Mupad users show me how I can force Mupad in giving me the same answer as mathematica?

Hi,   I tried to open today a mathcad file that I was working on yesterday but I'm getting this error message:  " The file type is not supported. Log file is located at (...)"   I only happens with this specific file. Any suggestions of what could be the problem?? I attach the file in case that helps.   Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to manipulate some equations into a desired form, specifically in the s domain, into a 'bode' form, and similarly in the z domain.   I am having no success, to the extent that I am struggling in the case of the latter to group terms by the z variable, let alone getting in terms of z^-1.  Here's what I am working with at present:     As a first step I'd like to get numerator as a poly in z.  A second step is getting into a format of z^-n (n integer), and finally the denominator as (1 - poly in z^-n) also: Have spent some time trying to manually manipulate the equation to no avail.  Any step wise instructions would be greatly appreciated.   Am using v15 (15.0 (M005 [MC15_M005_20101105]))   Example textbook forms of a discrete filter is one of either:     Regards, Jack   PS have tried to upload my working file but I am gettign the following error: The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file typ

I have been trying to get a license file for 3 days now, and PTC's support website is garbage. I can't get help let alone a simple response. I've also tried calling our PTC/Mathcad rep, and he won't answer his phone or call me back.  We have an engineer that has been unable to work for 3 days now because PTC doesn't seem to have any customer service or tech support staff. This is ridiculous. 

Hi everybody,   the integral-System I'ld like to solve do have more than one solution. Once odesolve found the right solution, but in the most cases the unphysical soltution is found. Do anybody know this Problem or has a idea how I can tell odesolve, that I'am searching the other solution ?   Big thanks to everybody who can help me.   David

Hi, I've been trying to use some solve blocks inside a program. The solve blocks return matrixes with the solutions of the equations. I'm trying to get these results inside a program, but the error "indexed assignment to a matrix element is not permitted in a solve block mathcad" keeps showing. I don't really understand what it means. I've attached the file.   Edit: I haven't put any solve block inside the program, but instead tried to get outputs from outside solve blocks.

While this topic may belong to "Community Help" I post it here on purpose to reach the right people. Some of us already made the experience that Mathcad files can't be attached directly but must be zipped before we are allowed to attach them. Thats cumbersome - especially compared to the way we could make attachments in the previous forum. I already posted a thread here https://community.ptc.com/t5/Welcome-How-To-s/Attachment-of-files-from-PTC-products-not-accepted/m-p/476440#M156 and @Tmetcalf is already aware of the problem but has no solution so far.   Now I noticed that at least two times in this forum users were able to attach a Mathcad file directly. That means that something on the user side could be the cause for the upload failing (it should not and the problem has to be fixed by Lithium or PTC) and I am curious as to what it could be. I downloaded gthe files of the people who were successful and trie to upload the very same files - no succes. So its nothing special with

It's been about 6 months since I checked in.  Has there been any news on Prime 5?  V15 is getting old, but the plot formats in Prime 4 were still pretty rough last time I checked.  Has there been any improvement?    

Hi, college student new to Mathcad here. I'm having trouble with the units of a concrete shear formula. I put units to the unit weight correction factor, lambda, but that didn't help.   Help would be much appreciated!

I am creating a table of contents on the first page of my documents, which needs the page number. as I edit the documents, the definitions tend to be pushed around and I have to update the page numbers, which is a pain. In Word, there is an automatic table of content generator, which can automatically update the page numbers. Is there a way to read the page number, or find the page number of a variable so as to use this in my table of content, so it is updated automatically as I move stuff?thanks in advance

Hi,   I am trying to run an equation in Mathcad 14 but to have it run through a loop from i=1 to i=29. I then want the output to be in an array form with each solution to the equation being output sequentially in the array.   e.g. put i=1 into the equation and run, output goes into row 1 of array put i=2 into the equation and run, output goes into row 2 of array   I have attached an image showing my manual method, where I have laboriously gone through and done the equation 29 times (only the first several are shown). The image also shows my attempt at streamlining the equation to iterate through all 29, but this only outputs the answer at i=29 (the last one).   Any help would be appreciated.

I am trying to set up a solution for a symbolic equation, but somehow the solution units are not working out correctly.  I have attached the worksheet and would appreciate any comments on what is wrong.  The result should be in feet, but as you can see, there are three variables that are not being handled correctly.   Also for some reason I get an error message that says "The contents of the attachment doesn't match its file type." Do I need to save back to an earlier version?   I am running MathCAD 15.0.

Afternoon,Have a quick question that might be better suited to the community than opening a ticket. I'm looking to upgrade four of our MathCAD users from MathCAD Prime 2.0 to 3.0. My question is in regards to the license. In the past, I've installed MathCAD 15 & MathCAD Prime 3.0 for users, where you associate the later installation with the former's license file (point to).As for upgrading from 2.0 to 3.0, I've never attempted this yet. During installation, do I point to the existing license file (2.0)? Also, do I install 3.0 and uninstall 2.0 afterwards or is there an "upgrade" option? I've look througn most of the "FAQ" documents and small PDF articles and haven't been able to locate any concrete information.Thanks,Jordan

I am new to MathCAD and am doing a simple static force equilibrium analysis. My goal is to understand the best way to do this type of analysis so that I can then scale it to more complex problems. MathCAD document is attached (prepared in MathCAD Prime 3.0) and a scan of the sample problem that I’m working on is shown on the second page of the document.   I was able to get the correct result using Method-1 and Method-3 but I’m not able to get Method-2 to work. In Method-2 I’m attempting to make the resultant loads Bx and By (the variables I’m solving for) variables within a function called B. I’m then trying to call function B in the moment equilibrium equation to simplify the form of the equation. If I could get this approach (or something similar) to work it would be great because for more complex problems it would be very convenient to write equilibrium equations as a function of reaction load [B] where [B] represents Bxi + Byj + Bzk.   Also, as mentioned, Method-3 works b

Hi all,   I am trying to generate a plot of a function P(y), where the variable y is itself a previously defined function, y(L). I have defined L:=200,201..400 and the two functions, y(L) and P(y) but when I attempt to plot P(y), I get an error about the value not being a scalar or a vector.   Is there a trick to working with functions dependent upon other functions?   Thanks
