I have two questions to one Chebyshev (Tchebyshev - Чебышёв) linkage (see more https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chebyshev_linkage) 1. I'm having trouble entering the subscript "n-1" after "prev"  The - 1 doesn't stay with n as part of subscript. Any suggestions?  I'm using PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1

Hello, When I box select a bunch of equations, and I put the mouse in the grey area at the bottom, it just zips to the end of the file. After a few choice cusses, I put the mouse on the grey area on the top, and the darn thing zips to the top of the file. Is there any way to slow down the scroll? I tried putting the mouse very close to the grey zone boundaries, but that does not help.

Hi everybody, my question is very simple but, as the same time, a bit complicate. I would like running a Mathcad sheet over different input values. At the beginning, I solve the problem with equations in vector modus, but I need increase the calculus with several conditionals and complicate equations. Vector modus gives me a lot of problems and the number of table rows will change. I thought, maybe it will be possible runs equations on each table rows (from 1 to N) and export results to an Excel files. Is it possible? Another idea was running Mathcad sheet over different input excel files. Output results would be exported and stored to each excel file. ¿?   Thanks in advance. You are great 

I am working with another engineer.  When I open his sheets there are problems with text overlapping one another. If it were screen size I would think that it would still print out ok, but it does not. It prints the sheets with the overlapping print.   Is there a way to fix this. 

Hi, I am trying to convert an MTF of an optical system by taking the magnitude of the fourier transform. I have attempted this but the result doesn't look like it should.   I cannot see any obvious mistake.   I appreciate any help, thanks Jason

Hi all, I am looking to program a script (presumably VB) that can help automate the assessment of structural members. We have numerous structural members (with various material and geometric input properties), which are subject to varying applied input loading.    I'm looking to create a script that can read the input variables (geometry, loads, properties...) from Excel into a pre-existing MathCAD calculation. The MathCAD calculation uses the input variables to calculate structural member utilisations.   I would then like to export the MathCAD calculated utilisations to record them in Excel against the relevant member.    Many thanks in advance - Iain

I would like to read values from an Excel spreadsheet in Prime, the same way I did in Mathcad 15.  PTC support set up a Mathcad file using the READEXCEL command.  The associated Excel file needs to be in the same folder as the Mathcad file for the data to be read.  Is there away I can bind or embed the Excel file to the Mathcad file, so I don't need a copy of the Excel file I am working with in every folder?   I have tried to insert an Excel component.  Due to the size of the spreadsheet, converting it to a matrix in Mathcad Prime, and reading the values is extremely cumbersome and related to how much of the table is visible.     Thank you!

Hello, I am solving an optimization problem with the resolution block, in the solver part I got an error because the number of arguments is greater than 16. How can I correct it.   I read that to reduce the number of arguments I have to create a vector of arguments, is that so? How can I do it?

When you are on the Mathcad home page there is no indication of which subforums contain new messages since the last time I logged on (or the last time I looked at that forum - either would work). There also seems to be no way to mark threads/posts read or unread to keep track of what I have looked at. Are we goging to get these features? I consider the first one in particular to be essential.

Dear All,   I would like to create a list box. As reported in the following figure, I have two component, and if I choose one of this, I would like that mathcad automatically select the associated values.   I see that list box permit this, but I try with use it without success.   Can anyone help me to create a list box?   Best regards Stefano

Do you know? We can use (only in Mathcad 15 not in Prime) a vector or a matrix with one row as an argument of the Find (MinErr, Minimize and Maximize) function. One example

Dear All,   I need to solve a non linear equation in mathcad 15.   Input     After a physical test, I obtain the Mbase and phi value, that I use to determine mu trend (right graph). I after need to use the mu function in a non linear equation, to determine the equilibrium configuration of the structure.   NL equation   How can I use the mu(phi) function in the NL equation? if I set mu as constant I don't have any problem.   I have a problem with mathcad file attach. I've been using Mathcad Prime 4.0 daily for a few months, just a few days ago the program stopped starting up.   When I run the program, the green splash screen comes up, but a few seconds later it disappears and the Mathcad icon disappears from my taskbar. I'm running Windows 7.   I have looked through other threads where fixes have been reported (like this one and this one) but nothing works. I've removed the config file, tried reinstalling, and tried running as an administrator.

Hi everyone,  I´m currently working on a particle retention research. I work with mathcad and I´ve reached a point at which solving an equation actually became a challenge that can no longer keep for myself. Said so, I would be really thankful if someone could help me out with this. Let me explain the situation: I need to find an equation that allows me to match experimental data to the Ho-Zydney model. I´ve tried to do so by working with 4 independent variables which values I must guess, however, doing this takes too much time, as I have to adjust them (or at least try to) one by one. So, I tried to find out a way by using odsolve, but this is not helping me minimize the guess values to those 4 parameters. I´ve been Reading a paper that claims to solve that situation by using Euler´s method and some iterative process, this paper however, does not give much detail about it, so I guess I should stop trying to guess and find another way to solve my problem.
