People have been asking for this since at least 2013. Case in point: https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad/Setting-default-units-in-Mathcad-Prime-3-0/m-p/59447#M23559 This seems like a pretty trivial thing, so it kinda just blows my mind that eight years later we STILL cannot modify the default units for results in Mathcad Prime, like we were able to in Mathcad 15. To make it clear what I'm talking about: I understand that I can set the default unit SYSTEM, (to SI, USCS, or CGS) which is great and all. However, let's say for example I'd like for all pressure calculation results to have units of KSI by default. In Mathcad Prime, this very simple feature is not included. The program displays all USCS pressure calculation results in PSI. I can then manually change the units of the result to be whatever I'd like, of course. But imagine doing this over and over again while doing a series of lengthy calculations. This wasted time adds up, my workflow is impacted, and the resu
Hey, how did you do it ? I need to convert .xcmd to .sm urgently

Hi thereI want to exclude some values from d when it is bigger than the width .... I want the program to just exclude the values that do not fulfil the condition, I used this program ,but it shows strange error ...I'm sure both of them have the same units How to fix this ?
Hello guys, I have few simple short questions regarding MathCAD if you can answer them.. Is Conditional Formatting avalible in Mathcad sheet? If yes, how to access it?Is it possible to lock the coding of Advanced Input/Output Commands separately without using the Area Box`s Password Protection?I`ve been using plots from a long time and now I need my graph to display X & Y coordinates exactly at the plotting point. How to do that?I have 50+ worksheets from the Legacy Mathcad (xmcd.) and currently, I`m using Mathcad Prime 10. When I try to convert those files, I`m getting errors in the equations where there was "multiplication" involved. How to solve that?Just as the function of MS Excel`s 'vlookup', I want to use the "if loop" that mathcad has. How to do it? (Example: Consider that, I have an excel sheet data where if I use the data of one column, all the other column data should also get updated. I can`t be able to access it.If, I could get answers for all these, I`d be very m
I have an expression that needs to evaluate sin (x)/x for x =0. I was doing this with simple program with if'sBut Luc suggested I use sinc I know these are the same and even checked by evaluating them numerically. But if I use the sinc expression, it must mess up something later in the worksheet because the results are completely different. (And it is the form with the if's that I know is correct.). I cannot figure out what is happening. Since I have a version that works, maybe I should just ignore the issue and move on, but, if someone can help, I would like to know what is going on. I have posted the worksheets in MC14 and MC11. Both contain the expressions for PHI but evaluation is disabled for the sinc form. Results are given in graphs at the bottom of the worksheets.
I am just trying to get my solve block to work. I wonder if I am inputting anything wrong. I know what the answer should be; it's a very simple calculation. However, I just want to get my solve block working. Attached sheet. Error on the last page. sheet attached.
I am trying to create a solve block to calculate the value of alpha as per the below equations:I have never used solved blocks before so hitting a bit of a stumbling point. I have found through manual iteration my required value of alpha as below:I am trying to put this together into a solve block, but not sure where I am going wrong: I've attached the sheet pictured above also.Any help much appreciated, thank you. This will probably be a very simple solve and it is just my lack of understanding of the program hindering me!
When I try to export a mathcad worksheet to PDF file, all the green (no error) boxes are also getting exported. Is there any way to hide then or switch it off when I export from mcdx. to pdf.? It`s a bit annoying when any of my clients see it that way with green boxes rounded off at random places.
Consider that, I have a data based upon the below image and I`d like to integrate that data with Creo so that I could sync up both. Now, "Number of Active Coils: Nc:=1" is assigned as input and the "Diameter of the wire: dw:=1mm" is taken as output. The issue I`m getting is that, I`m able to change the value of output as many time possible, but once if I assign a value as an input, it indirectly gets locked... Changing that value is impossible. What could be the reason for this? Am I missing something, or is there something wrong with the settings of my workstation..? Please clarify.- Srikar
I am trying to calculate the Jacobian (for a Newton Raphson scheme). At this point the problem is simple enough that I can derive it by hand but I want to make sure the two approaches agree (especially since my hand-derived result is nearly singular). What I am doing is not working - I get a "pattern match" error. Worksheet (in MC11) is attached. Thanks for any suggestions.
I purchased a student license for mathcad prime, but when I download my activation file and activate prime 11, even if the license manager says to be activated successfully, the program opens with the express version and says the release is not supported, version 10.0.1 works well.
If I use the Include Worksheet function in Mathcad Prime 10, will the worksheet called within the Include Worksheet function path then open and fully run, when calculate is commanded for the primary worksheet? If I use the Include Worksheet function to call multiple worksheets throughout the primary worksheet, will each of the included worksheets be opened and fully run in sequence when the primary worksheet is calculated?
This feels like a silly question, but I have not been able to figure out how to find and replace text in Prime 9 from the help or other posts.
Hello. I came upon an interesting case: singularity function defined in my particular case as < r - r_o >^0It is also said that if r < r_o then the whole function is equal to zero. Do we have any means of evaluating this function in Mathcad, such that, if I plug inn any values of "r" and "r_o" into the function, it will return to zero (of course if r < r_o)? Otherwise this function is always 1 (if r > r_o and if we ommit the case when r = r_o). Best regards,Sergey
This variable is not defined. Check that the label is defined correctly. The variable is defined, redefined, calculated, recalculated, but it still shows me a red error when I include the variable in an equation.
Hello! Does anybody know how to change the units (from m to mm, m^2 to mm^2) in the chart component graph? Please, take a look at the attached file. Best regards, Sergey
The error is - "The value must be a scalar"
Good morning to all, for my calculation I've to deal with badly conditioned matrices. The matrices includes terms with its own unit of measure. The bad conditioning is coming (also after some simple numerical tests) from the very different order of magnitude of the terms and it could be reduced introducing, new, custom unit of measures (such as for example MegaNewton for example). I know how to introduce custom unit of measures in input. BUT what I want is that for an entire spreadsheet (or even a region) a custom unit system is used; said differently I want that the results are in the custom unit of measures: how can I do? Many thanks in advance
This month’s challenge is based on magnetism. Create a Mathcad worksheet to answer any or all of the following:Basic Challenge: What is the magnetic field strength of 15 Ampere current in a wire at a distance of 0.25 meters? How many turns of wire will be needed to create an electromagnet capable of lifting 1 kilogram of ferrous material if the current is 0.25 Amperes, the lifting face of the magnet is a circle with a diameter of 5 cm, and the length of the coil is 0.1 m? Assume a relative magnetic permeability of 750. What is the total magnetic energy of the Earth? (Assume a magnetic field strength between 0.22 and 0.67 Gauss.) One resource for the equations to solve these problems is NASA’s Magnetic Math ebook. Graphing ChallengeCreate a 3D plot of the force generated by an electromagnet as a function of electrical current and surface area of the lifting face of the electromagnet. (Choose any values you want for the other parameters of the electromagnet.) Creative har
A sample of a variable name containing a superscript and subscript in the math formatted region is provided in the attached Mathcad Prime 10 file. I would like to edit the superscript to make a new variable name. I can edit everything except the superscript. Please advise on how this can be done? Please see attached file for more information.
I wanted to play with the advanced control Button Example with python script. I have different versions of python on 2 computers:My next step would be to download a newer verson of python onto the computer that fails and see if the problem with the control is resolved. But: how do I know which version Prime needs/uses? There doesn.t seem to be any documentation in Prime 11 other than a statement along the lines of "Prime will register python and enable python scripts".
Hello, anyone knows how to change the background color of mathcad prime 1.0 sheet.thanks in advance for your help.
I solved a statics problem with Mathcad Prime 10 like this:Can any member suggest an elegant method to do this?
Afternoon,I am using the Mathcad Prime 10. I'm fairly new to Mathcad so there may be an obvious answer to this. I have a few graphs like this, and am needing to determine the value of v for each curve (green/blue) that gives a Y value of the red line. Is there an easy way to do this? Also, unrelated and mostly a formatting request, the Y-axis is Pressure, and will only display in Pa, I would prefer psi for this situation but cannot for the life on me figure out if I can change it. Any ideas? Thanks for your help in advance.
