Mathcad

All I want for Christmas is a simple if / otherwise block like this:But all I'm ever able to get, using from the Boolean toolbar, is something like below. How can I get the structure like in the image above?The calculations I want to perform when the condition is true occupy more than just one line.

I'm using MathCAD 15 and Windows 7. From this statement in the help files regarding Nested Arrays:Most of Mathcad's operators and functions do not work with nested arraysAm I correct to conclude that I can't build a nested array using assignment statements? For instance I have test data that includes long periods of quiescent data intermixed with events of interest. I want to strip off the quiescent data and return a nested array of columns of varying lengths (time) of the event data to get around MathCADs limitation of only returning one value or entity from a program.

hi...I want to have a table in mathcad that for example when  variable b=3 then open a  3*3 table with no data or I can edit its data,is it possible in mathcad 15?

Mathcad M040 does not like my file. Is there a better way of doing this?

Hello everyone! I'm still struggling with with my problem. Let's say, I have to solve this. I need at least 7-8 first solutions of this equation. I could use given/find, but I would like to change parameter Bi in the future and then I would have to change guess values as well. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance I was trying this method (there's different Bi, that's why soultions don't match the first photo), but I'm not sure, if I can get anywhere with it.Thanks in advance and cheers,Peter

Is there a way of defining the number of matrix rows and columns just by say setting up a function? i.e. if I want a 5x5 matrix I can just type 5 and 5 in two functions and the matrix will auto generate

hi all,i have licensed versions of mathcad 15 (M010) and prime 2.0.  i've converted many files from 15 to prime format but a few fail.  a "failed" message appears in the status and no converted file is created.  i know that some functionality might not convert, but i thought they would be rendered as images and i would be able to fix what didn't convert properly.   however, no file is created.  i'll try to paste an image of the failed conversion window and the file itself (quite large).

In attempting to get the final function in the worksheet (under the heading "Lay Out PSO Algorithm and Find Best Results) to work, I am running into some problems.  It will take some looking into, certainly, but Mathcad is saying that I'm not giving it scalar elements for the function "StressPenalty."  If anyone could help me figure out why this is the case, I'd appreciate it (this code closely follows one that I know to work properly.  It should work as it is).

Using MathCAD 15 in Windows 7. Based on this quote from the help file regarding range variable creation:b is optional, but when used, it represents the value of a plus the step size to be used in generating the sequence of numbersI am puzzled by the values created by these two range statements:I understand the values for range variable i, but I thought j values would be 1, 11, 21. It appears as if MathCAD is calculating the step size as the difference between a and b versus using b as the step size. Am I confused or is the help file incorrect?

I have several problems with Prime 3.1:- Plots are not drawn for some parameter values. The same functions and parameters in Mathcad 15 work fine.- Number with ticks almost always overlap, making them unreadable.- I cannot use two Y-axes. This is needed to get appropriate scales and avoid very high and narrow plots.- I cannot add a caption to the Y-axis or move the legend to the left side of the graph. This means the graphs can never be used in publications.- I cannot turn off the units.Does anybody have a solution for these problems?Kind regards,Arjen Rinzema

Hi,When sketching, I have trouble defining where a line measures from. Attached is a picture of what I mean (I'm having trouble explaining it). Right now the line is at a 160 degree angle but the length of the line is defined by the distance to the x-axis. Is it possible to change it so the line is defined by the angle and just length of the line? It's possible to just do the math and figure out the distance I need but that can take a long time. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I am looking for a good book or on-line course in Signal Processing used mainly with real communication systems. Most seem to focus on the theory of the math, not the applications and techniques. Something that would be helpful to a practicing engineer wanting learn how they are used in real systems. I don't need to see every proof or get bogged down in nth-space theorems just some information on how devices in the digital world filter noise, error correct etc.
