In my mathCAD sheet, I've solved this four bar linkeage for any user input of crank position, but what I'd like to do now is develop equations to describe the motion of the links (and particularly a point in question) through out the entire 360 degree range of my crank arm. This sheet uses scalar position equations and Given / Find solve blocks to solve for link arm angle, angular velocity, and angular acceleration based on the user input of crank angle, which in my sheet is θ2. I would like to make θ2 a range variable, or a matrix of values from 0 - 360 degrees so I can output and then plot the motion of the point I'm looking for, but I'm stuck. The Given / Find block fails, and then obviously the rest of the sheet fails. If I'm approaching this incorrectly from a programming stand point, please let me know.
Dear all,I got thanks a discussion chain some Mathcad macro's to read data in any worksheet in an excel file but thw woksheet name has to be known. My data acquisition system generates automatically excel data table with every time new worksheet names. Is it possible to obtain all the worksheet names of an excel file directly from Mathcad ?Second question:It is possible to read directly from Mathcad data within worksheet of Excel file and it works well.Is it possible to do the reverse, ie to write data direclty from Mathcad in specific worksheets of an excel file ?I have Mathcad 14 (will have mathcad 15 next year)Thank youP.Bujard
Hi...I have two questions as below,1. How to assign mathcad prime 2.0 output value to creo parametric as a model parameter ?2. How to integrate mathcad prime2.0 worksheet with creo parametric2.0 with output value type as a string?I have integrated my mathcad worksheet with creo parametric but unable to make its model parameter so i want to know how we can add it by relation or else.and secondly if i give my mathcad output value in string format then i am not able to make its integration. Thanks,Prashant Pandarkar
Can anyone solve this trick ? Worksheet for Mathcad Prime 3.1 is attached.
Every approximately 10 times I start a Mathcad 15 session under Windows 7 it ends with "mathcad not responding". I cannot close Mathcad, Task Manager cannot close Mathcad, but mostly I can stop Mathcad in the process window by ending the process. Does this happen to anyone else or am I a lone sufferer with some computer/operating system glitch? This often happens when I have been editing e.g. plots.Dave Snelling
Is it possible in Mathcad to write a function that provides the nearest multiple of a value without going over a particular ceiling? For example, I have a maximum allowable bolt Ø of 0.33in. Bolts come in 0.125in (1/8in) Ø increments. I'd like Mathcad to provide me with a 0.25in Ø bolt size (as 0.375in exceeds 0.33in). I tried Ceil(0.33in,0.125in) but the result is 0.375in.
I just converted over to Prime 3.0. Before I used to use Mathcad v8. The option that i used the mose was to craete an equation & then have Mathcad symbolically solve for the variable. In mathcad 8 I would do the following steps:1.) define an equation with some variables, using the ctrl+= (so I get the bold =)2.) click on the variable I wanted to solve for3.) In the top menu bar click "symbolic", then "variable", then solveThat was it ... I can not find that in the new Prime 3
Hi..I need to add one extra row in matrix or in excel component, for more detail pls see below e.g.In excel component it shows only values, but i want to show its heading also to understand it better as per shown in second snap (i.e. test1, test2, test3, test4).so please can anybody help me.Regards,Prashant Pandarkar
I am trying to create a mathcad in which the user selects one of the two options (lets say Load Case 1 & Load Case 2) in the beginning of the sheet. Subsequent to this selection, a few calculations take place in the sheet. Now when the user is lets say 10 pages down, I want him to be able to switch between these options so that all the calculations in the mathcad now reflect the results based on this revised choice. I was hoping to see something like a "freeze panes" option in excel or to see some floating region which would be visible at all times to the user.
Hi, All,I have a question about solve equation, please check red circle as below,I've defined Vop1_out at solve equation, why I need to define it again? Is there have method to solve this problem??Thank you all guys
Hopefully this is in the right spot. First off I am fairly new to MathCad.I am having a problem with getting the calculated values from a complex polynomial equation to fit my data. I am working with an aggregating protein system. I know the total concentration of protein subunits and the ratio of monomer to total at a variety of concentrations. This ratio has to be between 0 and 1. I am trying to fit an equilibrium equation to this data. I have solved the polynomial equation to equal 0 and have put in guesses for the variables and input a matrix of experimental total concentrations.I would like it to give me all of the values of alpha between 0 and 1 at each total concentration because that is the physiologically relevant root. I also need to check the variance from the experimental values. I do not understand how to get the program to calculate these things.I have attached the MathCad document here.Thank you for any help,Seth
Hi,I am fairly new to Mathcad and I am trying to do the following from the data sheet. I need to make both of these plots and haven't got a clue where to start. If anyone can help it would be REALLY appreciated.
I have some empirical formulas to enter in Mathcad 15, in which the values should be inputted without units. Is there any way to input them other that dividing the variable to his unit?Example:a=1mb=2kgI don't want to input:c=a/1m + b/1kg = 3I want something like:c = "trim unit" (a+b) = 3Note:I want to keep the units for a and b definitions.I don't want to define other variables. Thanks
In investigating an unrelated problem, I found a very useful xmcd file on this discussion board. But there is a symbol I don't recognize. Can someone tell me what the circled operators in the image below do?Also a nice feature would be to hover over an operator and for a popup to appear saying what the operator is and link to the help file for that operator.
Hi..Please can I know, How to get current time & date in mathcad ?or any way to get any unique number.I want to write file with its unique name for every saved mathcad sheet.Regards,Prashant Pandarkar
Hi,I'm pretty sure this question has been asked before but I just can't find the answer. I was working on quite a large Mathcad 15 file, and when I closed Mathcad and wanted to shut down my PC (Windows 7), Mathcad suddenly asked me if I wanted to save my file, even though Mathcad wasn't even running anymore and I already saved it. I clicked yes, and when I reopened the file, at least half of the content was gone completely and the rest doesn't seem to work (it just doesn't calculate for some reason). It also lost about half of its file size. I saved a version of that file two weeks ( ! ) ago, so I desperately want to recover some older version of this file. I can't recover it via the recovering feature of Windows 7 since I didn't activate that. I'm uploading the file so you can see for yourself (comments and stuff are in German though).I'm very thankful for all suggestions.
This is a more general question but I couldn't find the MathCAD general issues discussion group. Regardless, the PTC website makes me feel very stupid. I’m at the eLearning portal and see this:I click on the Essentials link and it takes me to http://support.ptc.com/ptcu_content/web/descriptions/EN/SAB-CEK5280-WBT.pdf which is nothing but a PDF file telling me the contents of the Essentials module. How do I actually access the training content?

Dear all,I am completely new to DOE in MathCAD, my only experiences with DOE are related to a DOE-Module contained in a simulation software (ADAMS)... and that was a lot of years ago.I am aware that there is a complete set of DOE-tools in Mathcad, I also tried to have a look at the quick-sheets, but I am not understanding how can I use this tools. I would need some kind of E-Book or the like, a "getting-started"-sort of thing.Anyway I attach an example (without units or real references, but slightly simplified from a real experiment whose results I am requested to evaluate). What I would like to do is very simple. I do not need to "design" the experiment, that was already done "by hand", so the different combinations of parameters are already given. There are a few "digital" parameters (P1, P2,... up to HV4) that can take the value 0 or 1. In my experiment they are pumps, heat-exchangers that can be on or off. Then there are a few real parameters (F1, F2, ... PT2). They
How do you clear the contents of the trace window?
Using a Given ... Maximize(f,x) solve block. The equations work correctly for a test case.I'm re-writing the worksheet to process a table of inputs I'm reading from Excel. So I need to run the solve block to find the maximum "x" for each row of the Excel data (e.g. 1000 times). I've decomposed the input table into several arrays and have done a bunch of calculations on each "row" using range variables or "vectorize" operator. What's giving me problems is that the function f has more variables - f(a,b,c,x). So for each "row", a, b, and c are fixed, and I need to find x that maximizes f. The next row, a, b, and c are different, but they are considered as fixed values for the purposes of finding a new x that maximizes f.I made an example in Mathcad 15. Oddly enough, the simple example I made works. But if I add units, the solve block fails. Even stranger, the original worksheet with a single case used units and the solve block worked.Looking
I apologize if this has been asked before as it would seem something others would have asked but my search of the blog returned nothing. In the attached file I have a simple 2nd order linear DE. I can see to extract individual values from the Odesolve output. I've also figured out how to extract the response to a vector. My question is how to know I've captured all the important content from the Odesolve output with my selected time increment of .01s. What if I was looking for the exact maximum. Seems like with my approach I'm only getting an approximation of the Odesolve output.
Electrical engineers may not pay much attention to the Driving Engine of the generator, theymight say this is a mechanical problem. The heat of the returned fuel oil from the enginemust be dissipated using, either a Day Tank or a fuel cooler. This is very important to keepthe supply fuel temperature within a specified limits for optimum engine life and maximumpower capability. However, the electrical engineer might need to know the following in a timeperiod of 12 Hrs of operation (for example), or 720 minutes (incremental time period equal 60mins) :1- The Tank Fuel Quantity in Lb.2- Tank Capacity in %.3- Mixture Temperature (Tmix-deg.F) of the returned fuel and the fuel in the tank.4- Fuel Height in the Tank ft.5- Heat Rejection to/from the Day Tank Btu.6- Temperature Change in the Day Tank deg.F.7- Day Tank Temperature deg.F.
Hi all,I am trying to use a special symbol in a variable name. To do this I have tried using the special symbol function by pressing ctr - shift - k and then typing the symbol I would like to use. This works however I seem to keep getting an error message when I try assign a value. For example I wish to do the following:I have tried both equal operators but none seem to do the trick. Any help on how I can achieve this would be greatly appreciated. I am using MathCad 15 but also have access to MathCad Prime as well so I am keen for any solution that will work.Cheers,Liam
Hello, when I look to the learning Programm, I can not see the figures in it. A screenshot is seen below. Can you please help me?
