I'm trying so solve an implicit differentiation example but I keep getting bad solve variable error This is my example:x^2+y^2=25
Hello, How to extract for example the 13th element from below?
I am upgrading an old application server and would like to know if there is a way to migrate the current version of Flexnet License manager 2016 along with my MathCad licenses on to a new Application server.
Helloi am having issues with units when i use the solve function. I have never had this problem before but it seems like whenever i use the solve function, some of the standard SI units are deleted in the process (the unit isnt bold blue anymore, which is what indicates that it is a unit). This is very frustrating because i need to copy the whole solved equation down and solve it again with a standard = then it comes out in the right unit, but i have never had to do this before, and in most cases i also need to define the units again in the copied solution... i attached a png of one of the times this has happened - and now it is happening in all my new files
Initially posted in this topic Hi all, i can understand this for single dimension vx and vy, but what about 2 dimensions Mxy and Mz? Could anyone explain what cspline() returns and how interp() works? Thx in advance!LertNote: i use mathcad 15.
I am computing phasor values of voltage & current waveforms at each sample point along the waveforms. I want to plot all of the resulting phasors, aligned to a-phase voltage. To do this I simple need to multiply each phasor by unity at an angle that is the conjugate of the a-phase voltage angle at that point. Is there a way to create a polar shift operator 1@-arg(Va)? See attached Prime 8 file for how I'm doing it now (multiplying by the conjugate of Va and dividing by its magnitude). thanks, russ
Hello! I've been a MathCAD user for 5-6 years now, but this last subscription cycle I told myself would be the last. Instead, I wrote a prototype application that just barely meet my needs, but shows an example for what cloud CAE could be. I would love to see PTC adopt something like this into their offerings, implementing storage, global variables, syntax highlighting, autocomplete, and hooks into Onshape. The graphical nature of MathCAD is neat no doubt, but I think the future is plain text with a super simple syntax. It's free, so please check it out if you're interested!https://fa.rad.cm
https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Transformer-Energization/td-p/450548 I want to access the worksheets, but they're in pdf format. Can you provide the worksheets in Mathcad format?
Hello, I want to see a variable from an equation. But I did some practice, and I couldn't get any solution. Can you help me I attached the file. 🙂
Hello, I have this vector: I want automatically to eliminate duplicate elements, and to retain only those elements which are not duplicate from the vector: How to do this?
Hello, In Mathcad prime, when a value is looked up from an Excel sheet, the output will be placed in a square bracket , I assume it is an array. When I use the looked it up value and compare it with another value, it gives an error saying it must be a scalar. What do I need to do to the looked up value to make it a scalar? Thanks,Sam
Hello, I tried to calculate the Steinmetz coefficients as it was shown in another thread "Curve fitting", and I would like to know how to do a log-log plotting of the power density vs magnetic flux density.I would like to see how accurate is the formula from my calculations and how well I can match with the graph from the datasheet. Thank you!
Hello, How to count for how many duplicate elements (excluding the original element) exist in a vector and a matrix? So, as example if in t1 vector element 2 is present for four times, then element 2 has 3 duplicate (four times - 1 time for original element = 3 duplicate).
Hi, I'd like to reuse a variable's content in other worksheets. For this, I use a reference to this sheet. However, I'd like not to read the entire sheet, but only a specific variable. Does anybody know of a way to achieve this? Thanks in advance Raiko MathCad 15 on a 64 bit, win10 machine
Hello,How to draw Nyquist Plot in Mathcad Prime? For example: (Last 2 images are the same) For more info about Nyquist Plot: https://lpsa.swarthmore.edu/Nyquist/NyquistExamples.html
I have 28 years of hourly measured data and I need to extract the maximum value of each 12 month period from the 1st of July to the last of June. The data is in an Excel file. The first column contains the data in the form of YMD e.g. 2023-09-18. The second column contains the hour e.g. 01:00:00. The third column contains the measured parameter e.g. 18.9. Is there an "easy" way to extract the maximum of each 12 month period, using Mathcad Prime? I have the latest version. Kind regardsBjörn
This is for Mathcad 15 although I would like to apply later to Prime 8.0. My goals are for all of the boolean variables to be active for all portions of the sheet. I want to defeat the top-down, left-right programming in the sheet. See attached.
So i had to do some work in laplace. I used matlab instead because mathcad couldnt figure out the answer. My matlab script does it no problem and returns the equation in this attached sheet. I have removed the numbers for simplicity. This is the time domain inverse laplace equation. The answer is correct. When i input the number i get what i expect. the problem is, i need this to be in mathcad to go with some other work. When i add it to mathcad, it does not like the units. The sheet i have attached is just doing the math with the units to show where the problem is. Mathcad is upset because in a certain part of the equation its multiplying Volts by ohms This is just a fact of what the inverse laplace is. The answer of the equation should have units of seconds. I have no idea how to make this work. Im sure there is some trick to this. Can someone lend a hand?
Hello everyone, I encountered problem in solving the equation which is in format of >=.I wrote the equation but there are two problems:1. the equation in format >= doesn't give straightly answer for the result of deltaP. (attached in the picture)2. there are issues with the units as the software doesn't generates units automatically which assuming it's related to the first issue mentioned in 1 as it's not giving direct answer for delta P. Please kindly advise to resolve this I attached the Xps file of this in this context.Thank you
I apparently do not understand how to use a function defined in a solve block to get results for a range (vector) of variables. It works for a single input, but not a range of inputs. Any help is appreciated. Note; the attached file is Mathcad 15. You will need both the xmcd and the xlsx files. They are attached. Thanks again.
In 1988, the International Mathematical Olympiad was given the task B3: If for integers x and y the term (x^2+y^2)/(1+x*y) is a natural number N, then N is a square number. The solution does not require advanced mathematics, but is very challenging. I have attached a German language file MC14. I saved myself a translation into English because the solution should be self-explanatory with little translation help. Examples are included at the end of the file.In the solution, a recursion is constructed based on starting values that have yet to be found. And that's my problem. My programming knowledge is not sufficient to find starting values and apply the recursion described in the solution - I therefore ask for help.
Dear colleagues, I have used the attached "Outlier Rejection procedure" for over 20 years to detect outlier data from acquired thermo-structural tests. I have tried, unsuccessfully, offering the procedure to AEDC (Arnold Engineering Development Center) because I use one of the two Outlier Detection Methods but they have not shown interest. Therefore, I am donating it to the PTC Community. The method is a simple average of the of AEDC's and Chauvenet's Outlier detection methods criteria resulting in the formula: C_ABC(n) = (C(n)_AEDC + C(n)_Chauvenet(n)/2 Where "n = sample size" .Ultimately, entered the numerical results into TableCurve 2D resulting in the formula provided in the attached workbook. I have successfully used to determine the outlier of: Bolt torque (n < 16) in a pipe-to-pipe flange assembly. Metal temperature around turbojet engine inlets, n < 24. Metal temperature around turbojet engine nozzles, n <
Hello, What to do in the case of blue rectangle if someone wants to solve this differential equation using laplace?
Hello Everyone. From : To : Any ideal else for solve , x , fully ? Thanks in advance for your time and help.Best Regards.Loi.
I am getting error this value must be a scalar what is wrong with the worksheet.
