The transparent model (red) is a copy of the same gray color cabinet in IsoDraw7.1, we can remove the ProE 3D transparency in 7.1 but how do we make an object (gray) transparent? ProE to PVZ does not import to 7.1 with parts that contains transparent properties, but *.ASM will import transparent part in 7.1. IsoDraw 7.3 does not import transparent object, the part will import color, ASM or PVZVlad? Help?BTW, PTC support forward most of our concerns to a developer department (black hole). We can also crash 7.3 and Creo Para 2.0 on demand.
Curious does PTC offer any standard stamps for Creo View? Seems like there would be a starter pack available. Thanks Larry
A number of people have complained to me that they can't specify a mapped drive to install the software on. The Creo installer will not let them do that. The hard drive in my laptop died yesterday so I'm now working off a loaner laptop while mine is getting fixed.I went to install Creo locally using my scripted install and it only installed Creo View Express and Creo View, it failed with it got to Creo itself.I opened up a command window as my normal self and copied the first line of the Creo install into the window. It didn't do anything, just came back with a prompt, and no errors.Thinking maybe this machine is going to require me to run as admin. I opened up a command shell as admin and copied the same command into it. It couldn't find the mapped drive. After searching on Google I found that elevated and non-elevated accounts are not linked, so they don't share the same drive mappings. There's a registry setting to make them linked.[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre

It would be nice to be able to create a detailed view in Creo Illustrate. It could be done in the same way as detailed views work in Creo Parametric or it could be done with a kind of magnifyer tool with two circles connected by a line.
Could be useful make BOM annotation by option OFFSET from explode line. This is not possible automatically: This is possible automatically:
Hello,Can anyone tell if it's possible to put an Index table (callout number and part numbers) in the graphics window, so it'll be exported to another formats? JPEG or PDF for instance.Regards,Ana
In Isodraw how many contour sets can you have. I add two sets, give them different shades of grey. And only one ever shows up.Bryon
I want to create a revolved surface rotated 90 degrees, the starting point is on one plane and the end point is on another plane. How can I create a revolved surface with the top going between these two points. I've added a picture to try to illustrate what I'm trying to do. This is probably very simple, I just haven't used ProE in a while. So the axis of rotation is the highlighted axis A1. The points are the two closest points point 1 and 2 I believe. So the revolve will go from the point 2 to point one which is a 12 inch drop while the axis will stay the same.
If you have lost your licence due to a longer break, such as lunch, 2h-meeting,... you only have the possibility to "Retry", "Save" or "Exit"-ProE/Creo. Retry only tries to pick a new licence of the batch that you have picked during program start up. If during the meantime all licences of this package are under use of colleagues, why isn't it possible to chose a different licence package, if company has some? So I mean to change the "Retry" into a "Renew". I mean, the software knows the different available licences during startup process and the software can know the licence package information. So in a very comfortable version, Creo can propose to chose between the packages, with all necessary licences including. This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. When I try to open one particular ".c3di" file, it sometimes comes back with an error message "This file could not be opened. It may be in use by another user."That file is in a folder of ProE parts and assemblies with several other c3di files. The rest of them work fine! The subject file is no larger than any of the others. I even tried copying the file and naming it something different - no change.NO OTHER USERS HAVE THE FILE OPEN!This has me stumped!Any ideas?Tom Burton
Our tech pubs folks say that they like to sometimes visit the figures and spin them around a bit just to see but they find themselves often making changes when they do not really want to make changes. Some way of configuring the tool to require a decision to instantiate any changes for a figure would be a benefit in their opinion.
I am wondering if anyone is using Creo View 2.0 with PDMLink 9.1? It is supported with PDMLink 9.1 M050 and later, unfortunately I am on M030 for a little longer. I am considering using it anyway, but wanted to see if there are any other rebels out there and what problems you ran into. Thanks everyone. Andy B.
Playing with creo view on ipad, not talking about pc version.
Hi alls, I need to exchange some 3D models with one of my clients. So, he needs software to do so. I'm working on Creo and have to share 3D model files. The simplest solution is to use Creo view (freeware version). However, he also wants to make some simple models just for explaining ideas. So, I'm wondering what would be good software for them to buy. I thought about - SpaceClaim - Alibre (a little bit too simple, perhaps?)- Creo Direct (seems to be the most compatible with Creo, ofcourse. However I would prefer not sharing native files but just Neutral,Iges or viewing files)- Probably some other ones??? As an abstract, I could say that we are looking for cad software:- That can read Creo exported files (not native ones)- That could make simple models- That doesn't use history tree Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks,GB
I want to create a callout in Creo Illustrate that shows the Description of the object as the text in the callout.I can see the description property in the pvs file in Creo Illustrate but I cannot get it to populate the callout.I have added the following snippet to the CalloutTemplates.xml file :<annotation id="ship-description" hasLeaders="true"> <name locid="DEFItemNumber-SHIP"/> <description locid="DEFItemNumberDescription"/> <tooltip locid="DEFItemNumberTooltip"/> <thumbnail url="ship_note.png"/> <leaders> <line-style weight="1pt" color="#000000" halo="false" dashes="Solid" start="none" end="none"/> </leaders> <label canEdit="true"> <text font="Arial" size="10pt" color="#000000"> <useproperty category="PVS File Properties" name="Description"/> </text> <shape type="rectangle"/> </label></annotation>Did I reference the property value correctly.I have another (Creo Parametric based) example that
Hi, I having problem creating this feature I have attached some pictures to help illustrate what I am trying to achieve. I have started with a Chamfer tool with the following settings: 45xD Set Chain 1 – Standard selected 3 sides, I have also tried Rule based and selecting Partial loop but the model fails to generate when I exiting the sketch. Hope you can help with some pointers please as I am new to proE coming from a SW background. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hello everyone Actually I am preparing a presentation of clutch asm and its working , which is to be explained in college classes later. So I want to create an animation video to add in it in order to make more understandable and illustrative. I have created the asm and here is the link. http://communities.ptc.com/docs/DOC-3014 In animation, I have 2 requirements • It must contain section view in between the working so that I need not to hide any component. • Clutch discs must be triggered to rotate and stop while CFD (clutch friction disc) touch them or separate. I have defined collision detection between some parts and it doesn't complete the 2nd requirement. Therefore any constraint or mechanism feature may be required. If any constraint requires modification for these purposes , please tell and add the updated model. There are many videos on youtube but I want to prepare by Creo parametric. Till now I have made this animation too. http://communities.ptc.com/servlet/JiveServlet/down
I need to modify the callouts (change line thickness) in our isodraw template, that I can do. How do I go about changing the illustraions that we have already done?Bryon
1. In the Item List menu in Manual mode, if I select a .PRT item (a part) and then click "Annotations" and select the circled number with a line, I get exactly what I expect. But if I select a .ASM item (an assembly)....... I get nothing at all! Is there a way to do this? If I select Automatic mode, it automatically annotates EVERYTHING in the view - in this case, hundreds of items - in which case I have to go through and "delete" many items, one by one, and renumber all of them laboriously. Not satisfactory!\2. Some of the .PRT items are used in different functional assemblies. If I select several instances of the same .PRT, the Item List uses the same annotation number and increments the Qty number. This prevents me from renaming each of the .PRTs with their specific functional usage. Again, any way around this? Thanks in advance!Tom Burton
I've created a figure with an associated Item List. I've "Renamed" the "Item Tags" to descriptions that will be more usable to our service people. Now for some questions (in order of increasing importance!)...Is there a way to change the column heading "Item Tag" to some other heading of my choice? The "Item Tag" column seems to have a fixed number of character spaces available. Any way to change this? How do I get the Item List out of Creo Illustrate? I assume there has to be a better way than selecting all the entries and copy then paste into a Word document! How to I get the figure and its associated Item List out of Crea Illustrate? I'd like to have the figure and Item List on one page. I'd also like the figure to be in an editable format that retains coloring from Render Mode, rather than being forced into a black-and-white line drawing. (From "cgm", I can get to an ai or eps format in which lines can be changed in thickness and/or color, etc., but cgm automatically is black and white
Hi All,is there any best practice to reuse any FRA files coming from Creo Parametric for instance in Creo Illustrate?First question, is it possible??Thanks in advance for your help,Best Regards,Jérôme
I'm running Isodraw 7.3 on Windows 7. Under Preferences/Redraw, the 'use buffered drawing' radio button is not available (greyed out) so I'm unable to display cursor info (snap, element, etc) - any suggestions?
Files (templates, "new" drawings, etc) all open in a "windowed" state and have to be maximized manually. Is there a preference i can change somewhere? Also, it would be nice if all drawings opened in a "zoom extents" state....
Hi All,is it possible to show in an animation the turn of a part from phantom state to normal state?I cannot figure out how to do that...Thanks a lot in advance for your help,Kind Regards,Jérôme
