I am getting an error on the PTC Community that says that a widget cannot be displayed when trying to post a new message to the Creo board:
Recently posting an idea to the PTC Creo Ideas page and was getting an error stating to check the highlighted portion and fix.. What I didn't realized is that I had to scroll down quite a bit to find the errors on the bottom right of the page below the screen window that I was filling out for the idea. Not very intuitive that the "error" is off the screen and I have to scroll down to find it. It would be better if this error was visible or if you click on the error, it show you the "highlighted" error. Thanks, Dale
On a side note, when entering my question I got the error message as below. I could not identify any "highlighted" error and had to guess that I have to select a location first. An actual highlighting of that button or any kind of hint in that direction would be very helpful. Thank you Benny
Is there an option we can toggle to permanently hide the community tip banners that now appear at the top of the boards?
After hoovering over a community members id, a pop-up shows up with (2) options: Send message or View profile. (I'll use one of my older post as an example.) If you click on Send Message, you are brought to the messaging part of the app, but it hasn't started a new message, also you still have to search and find the member id you just clicked on in order to send a message. I would think that a new message would be started and addressed to the appropriate ID.
Hello, is it possible to download the training from ELearning?
It would be nice if the signature line would be populated in the text box as soon as a message is started so that it could be modified or removed as desired, similar to how signatures are created in Outlook.
I tried to post a new idea to the Creo Cad board and received this error message: This is the first Idea post I have done in a long time.
Hello Olivier,It's a pity that customers have to fight (or beg) for possibilities to be more efficient and that you archive ideas instead of collecting and clustering them. A possible negative interpretation of that practice would be: Archiving ideas that have not enough votes after a certain period of time is a way to get rid of problems that your customers have. The suggestion would help every single user that works with family tables. Unlock quickly a full family table (instances + ge... - PTC Community
Why can i not suggest an idea for the PLM Windchill product? I work at my company with Windchill and support the colleagues with question regarding the software. I would like to suggest improvement when i see opportunity or my colleagues suggest them to me.The button is not active.
My reply via email this morning looks like its in a foreign language.
Hello, I have noticed that often people rarely use the Insert/Edit code sample in the thingworx developer forum. Either do not know how to do it (or ignore it), so I was thinking that perhaps it would be good to put a sticky post letting forum users know that the functionality exist.Or move the button from behind the three dots to the first "row" so it is easier to find.Perhaps even change the icon to just say "code" or something. Other possibility could perhaps be some type of automatic code detector(?), don't know how feasible that is though. Regards,Jens
Hi All, Can any of you point me to the key to the tags that are applied to us in the community? They look like Number-Mineral, for example I am 7-Bedrock, but I haven't found an explainer for what they mean. Thanks guys!
Obviously I don't understand how this Community works. It is not clear in the slightest
I tried updating the following document with some additional information: Creo/ProE Drawing Repeat Region/BOM Syntax...This ... - PTC Community Although I could edit it the website wouldn't let me save it and got the following error: "Message cannot exceed 20,000 characters." Yet, when I copied and pasted the contents into Word and count the characters I get 3725 characters (including spaces) When I look at the "source code" in HTML I get 80,287 characters (including spaces) Based on this I am thinking that it is rejecting my edits due to HTML being ridiculously verbose. Is this intended? Can the limit be increased? Can you have it count text only instead of HTML code? Anything else that can be done? It is noteworthy that I only added a few lines and it was otherwise as the post existed prior to me touching it today.
Anyone else seeing this? Their username randomly changing to some text string? PTC STILL doesn't have a fix for this.
Hello everyone! How do I change my email in PTC Community Settings? it seems impossible! Thanks for answering me.
I have twice this week posted email responses to posts using Gmail from and neither response has shown up in the Creo Parametric forums. Can someone confirm reply via email is working as designed?
I have a couple questions about ideas that are archived. Does the person that created the idea get notified? Does anyone that either comments on it or vote for it get notified? I happened to be on this forum yesterday when @olivierlp was archiving quite a few ideas and it notified me in the browser. However, I did not get any emails. I just might not have voted or commented on any of the ideas that were archived but that got me thinking about my questions. I was looking back at my emails I received and see I got emails for ideas I did not vote for and did not comment on. Just wanted to know how the notifications work on archived ideas.
When adding a product idea, it askes you for a series of questions about your industry and such. It doesn't ask you what your product idea is, so are you supposed to hit enter and then a new screen pops up? Maybe add a last question to the list: What is your product suggestion/idea?
This seems like a commonsense idea, no? Just let me into the system and I can have this running by tomorrow.
Unfortunately, it happens very often that new posts that have a "Creo Parametric related topic" are mistakenly posted in one of the "Creo Elements Direct" boards. This is really annoying.First you do the work to translate the content into your own language and then you notice it. Ok.But for many of these misplaced posts, you also don't realize that they are not meant for "Creo Elements Direct" because the info is too sparse. If you then try to help, answer with some effort and only then realize by the reactions what is happening, it is frustrating and spoils the desire and the will to work actively to offer solutions. What's about a security question."Are you sure that you are about to create a post in Creo Elements Direct?".
Hi, where can we find Windchill and Creo Administration information for new administrators so they support future upgrades and installs
Hello, Before the latest change to the Thingworx developers part of the communty you were able to reach the IoT Tips section.Maybe I am just blind, but I just can't find it.How can I navigate to this section now?I thought it might be through here:But can't find it.Or here:But no luck. Is it designed so that you have to use the search function? Thanks,Jens
Occasionally, there are some maintenance is done to the PTC Community and login is temporarily locked and only reading existing posts is possible. This is of course perfectly fine. Recently I started noticing that new posts and replies started to pop up, despite I was still being unable to login. I thought it was some kind of glitch, and today when this happened, I tried a "remedy" by clearing all the cookies etc for comunity.ptc.com and yay it worked! Login was instantly available! It seems like the "you're locked out" session is stored too long some how and doesn't check if the maintenance is actually finished? Using: Google Chrome, version 108.0.5359.125 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10I have my login details saved in the browser because you know why. 🙂
