On (2) recent topics I used the translation button on the top right of the page. The first time, the title and the contents were translated. On the post below, only the title was translated not the body of the post.
The New community site has way too many bugs. When you click on a topic it takes to you a blank page to fill in a message.Remove the 80 Character Barrier for String Parameters And the formatting of the screen is awful. Everything is way too small and too disorganized. The UI is not at all user friendly. Worst upgrade I have EVER seen.
No, this new look is more modern, but a terrible waste of real-estate. Please make sure that each topic consumes less space on the screen. And why can't I paste a picture? And how do I get the body of a topic showing? The attachment shows what I get to asee about this topic. Luc
We are aware of an issue some users are having posting some attachments. We expect a solution soon but, in the meantime, posting attachments as .zip files appears to be an effective workaround. I will post updates here as we receive them. Thanks for your patience!
Keeping our community experience streamlined and making information easy to find is important to the PTC Community Team! Until 2016, the community team would lock forum threads that were no longer active, adding a note "This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team..." to explain the closure due to inactivity. While this is no longer our practice, it was the policy across all Creo forums at the time it was implemented. Some of these locked threads remain unanswered and offer little impact as knowledge resources. Unfortunately, they still appear in search engine and community search results, which can clutter results and make it harder for users to find helpful answers. To improve the quality of search results, we’ve decided to archive these posts. Once archived, they will no longer be visible to the community. However, they will still count toward members’ statistics for badges and ranks. This archiving will only affect Creo forum posts w
I'm unsure if the Mathcad or Community Feedback board is the better place for this request. I noticed @DJNewman has raised a subscript/superscript button request for the Communities (thanks, Dave 👍). That got me thinking about a more Mathcad-specific requirement that *should* be easier to implement than MathML/Mathjax/Mathwhatever ... Could PTC please add Mathcad Unimath Prime to the Community's available fonts? Although there are several Roman fonts under the Font dropdown, Unimath is designed explicitly for Mathcad and the appearance of Mathcad Math expressions could be more faithfully rendered by having this font available. Would it be possible to add the little eye ball (i.e. show what you have typed) behind the password portion of the login to the community. So many times I fat finger the keyboard (or have my cap locks on - Creo Habit), but you cannot click on the "show me what I have typed" icon before hitting the enter key.
When you are on a page with a new post and the page automatically brings the post up to the bottom of the thread, could there also be a translation icon at the bottom of the page (for translating the whole post) from the bottom.
(Jaime Lee-Editor Note: Some community members have reached out to our moderators asking who is "Michael" and why he looks like he is providing AI generated answers. The Community Team thought we should let Michael tell us what this is all about and how CreoVerse is helping community members find some solutions to their PTC Creo questions). How and why I created CreoVerse by Michael P. Bourque With over two decades of experience using PTC's Creo Parametric and its predecessor, Pro/ENGINEER, and having served as Vice President of PTC University, I have accumulated a vast repository of knowledge. Despite this experience, I often found myself spending excessive time searching for specific pieces of information scattered across my hard drives. This frustration led to the creation of CreoVerse, an AI-driven assistant designed to streamline my workflow and make information easily accessible as part of an ongoing personal research project. Why I Created CreoVerse1.
Beginning this month, we will launch a new community archiving program that targets any forum posts over 15 years old. Why archive? The PTC Community has some content that is over 20 years old! It is best practice, especially for a technology related community like this one, to clean out this older outdated content. This way we can ensure search results aren't cluttered with old irrelevant information and prevent community members from being misled by posts that are no longer accurate. What will happen to the archived forum posts? These posts will be moved to an archive where they will no longer be accessible by community members. They will no longer be searchable or indexed by search engines. However, nothing will be deleted, and they will be recoverable. Will user statistics be affected? No. Your post count, kudos, accepted solutions and any badges or ranks you've earned will not be affected by this. If one of your posts is archived, it will still be counted. &nb
Also add a subcategory. For instance has Cero many stuff that is separated.I am using very often help regarding MACHINING/Manufactung.Now I use the Filters, but still.. much Stuff I do not need is showed there.. because I can not filter for only machining/manufacturing.So a category with all those sub-categories that are in the "Help" already could also applied here.Look here: It is all under Creo right now.. And then there would be still many subcategories..BUT if you use less than 6 phrases, it really uses an AND concatenation.if you put it into: >"this would" machining< it is looking for the exact phrase AND machining in one thread.
In January, we introduced on-demand translation to the community. Over the last few months, we have expanded this feature to more boards and discussion styles. It is now available on all forum, tips, and idea boards. Today, we are pleased to announce the addition of search translation. Here's how it works: Log in: Make sure you are logged in to your account. Select your language: On either the search page or the header search bar, select your preferred language. Enter your search: Type your search query in your selected language. Translation process: Your search will be translated to English and then back to your selected language after the search is complete. The results will also be translated to your selected language. View results: Select one of the search results. The post or article will be translated to the language you selected as well. We hope you find this new feature useful and encourage you to try it out. Let us know what you think!
We want to help our users to ask questions in a way that makes it easy for other users to answer. We are aware of a bug which prevents attaching PRT files to community posts. We are waiting for a fix from the community platform vendor. In the meantime, you can use a ZIP file to attach PRT files. We will post any updates here.
PTC Community Feedback - PTC Community
Would it be possible to add another header/filter underneath the group sub-heading? Sometimes posts are moved from one category to another and may get buried in the transition if they are 5+ days old.
https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Explode-Line-Issue/m-p/390043#M6732 THIS ACCEPTED SOLUTION IS JUST A LINK TO A POLL TO GET PTC TO PAY ATTENTION IT WAS NEARLY 10 YEARS AGO ADD A DROP DOWN FOR LABELS IF THEY HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC THIS WEBSITE BREEDS FRUSTRATION
The email asks if I would like to not receive emails from PTC Community to "click here" This website is representative of the help one would expect to receive Tired of trying to find the correct place to post this and I know the mods care more about looking like they are doing a good job over actually providing any sort of real solution. That being said I expect it to be deleted. Spent 45 minutes trying to find where to post and the frustration won, ptc won. They have received the payment and will not be taking any calls.
We are excited to introduce on-demand translation for the PTC Community! This new feature aims to facilitate multilingual conversations and bring more value to users around the world. Here is the idea: imagine a user from Japan asks a question in Japanese. Another user from the United States can translate it into English and write a response in English. The Japanese user will be able to read the response in Japanese and, in turn, reply in Japanese, etc. Here is how it works: when viewing a conversation, there are two options: translate the entire conversation or translate a single message, as shown below. Additionally, when viewing a board, you have the option to translate the titles of all conversations. Initially, we plan to offer translation to four languages. You can translate from any language to Korean, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and English. If this initial offering proves successful, we plan to expand and include addi
We should have subscript / superscript text formatting buttons for Community posts that add / tags, respectively, to a selected piece of text. This would work similarly to existing shortcut buttons like Bold and Italics. It would probably be part of the extended toolbar. This would be particularly useful on the Mathcad board.
