I am looking into the new IoT Streams functionality for ThingWorx 10.0 https://support.ptc.com/help/thingworx/platform/r10.0/en/index.html#page/ThingWorx/Help/Composer/DataStorage/IoTStreams.html%23   As it seems like the streams are configurable for Kafka or Azure Event Hub.   We are using Redis as a caching option for several other use cases. Can the IoT Streams be integrated with Redis directly as well?   Alternatively we will need to implement the Redis JDBC driver and create a subscription that will push new data.

Hi Community,   I want to design a mashup where Products are shown as columns and Machines as rows. Inside the cells, admins can add or remove “Errors.”   Example mockup:   Both Products and Machines are dynamic (number of columns and rows can change). Question: What’s the best way in ThingWorx to implement such a dynamic mashup layout?Which widget should i use for this approach?     Additional info: My datashape contains infotable type productStations (machine) field in which we can add more then one machine to one prod and in this infotable we have then another infotable error to save more then one error in it.   Datashape results 1) 2) 3)     Thanks for any design suggestions!  

Hi Community,   I have an InfoTable with several fields, and I would like to use one of those fields as the source for a Dropdown widget. The issue is that this field can contain duplicate values, but in the dropdown I only want to show distinct values. Right now, the only way I see is to create a separate service that takes the InfoTable and returns only the distinct entries.    My question: Is there any way to achieve this directly in the mashup (e.g., via Data Filter, Query, or some built-in option) without having to write an additional service?   Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Hi, I'm facing a problem. I have a dashboard mashup with some charts, but when I hover over a series, the tooltip that should appear next to the bar is instead showing up at the top of the page.I believe this might be a bug, and I’m not sure how to fix it. To help you understand, I’ll share some screenshots.The red square shows my example, but this also happens with the orange squares. I don’t know why, but it doesn’t happen with the bars inside the blue square.Now I’m going to show the configuration of the first chart. 

Hi Community,   I am working on ThingWorx 9.3 and would like to use the ThingView widget in a mashup to visualize PVZ/3D models    However, I cannot find the ThingView widget in the widget list inside Mashup Builder. From the documentation, I understand that the widget should be delivered with the Creo View WebGL Extension, but I do not see this extension listed under Monitoring → Extensions in Composer.   My questions: Where can I download or find the Creo View WebGL Extension for ThingWorx 9.3? as i have read in docu https://community.ptc.com/t5/ThingWorx-Developers/For-use-Creo-View-widget-in-Thingworx-I-need-a-Pluging-for-my/td-p/512396 and its mentioned here that The ThingView widget is delivered with the Creo View WebGL Extension, which is automatically installed as part of ThingWorx Apps.   Are there specific installation steps I need to follow to enable the ThingView widget?   Does having Creo Illustrate must inst

Dear Developers, we have a database in Azure and need to connect thingworx with the database.we cannot use a SQL local account for the connection due to security perspective. we have a service principal and confirmed we can connect with the database via the service principal. I want to know how to create a thing which can connect with the SQL by using the service principal. what thingtemplate do we need to use ?what connection string do we need to use to specify the authentication mode ?is it ok to put client ID as user name and secret key as password ?  

I am using ThingWorx Platform Release 9.2 and DatecodeSP12We had an issue in one of the production site where we are unable to write the property of one thing which has been created to communicate with the kepware server and updating the kepware tags.Please assist us further on this case and it is impacting the production as well as business application.We have attached the error snapshots which was captured from the thingworx application logs and script log while we are trying to update the property.

Hi Community, I have a use case where: I open a new mashup from within another mashup (e.g., via Navigation). In this new mashup, the user should enter some values. I would like one Text Field to be automatically focused when the mashup loads, so the user can start typing right away without clicking into it. Has anyone implemented this? Is there a recommended way to achieve auto-focus on a widget (e.g., via binding, service call, or JavaScript) in ThingWorx Mashups?   Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Is there a good event or alert included out of the box in ThingWorx that is only triggered when the platform starts up?  I would like to subscribe to it and send a notification to platform admins when the platform starts.  If there are any events that are reliably triggered on shutdown, I'd like to subscribe to that as well. I found this article which discusses creating a new Thing but would like something already present if possible. https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS230700 

Hi Community, I am using the Grid Advanced widget to display data in a tree structure (with expand/collapse for sub-entries). In a normal mashup, it works fine: I can open and collapse the sub-rows easily. But when I place the Grid Advanced inside a contained mashup, the expand/collapse buttons do not appear. Setup: I pass an InfoTable into the contained mashup through Mashup Parameters. When I do not specify a DataShape on the contained mashup parameter, it works. But when I add the DataShape to the contained mashup parameter, the expand/collapse buttons are missing. It almost feels like a ThingWorx 9.3 bug (since the behavior changes depending on whether a DataShape is set on the parameter). 👉 Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a known limitation/bug, or is there a recommended workaround for using tree structures in Grid Advanced inside contained mashups? Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm currently working with the GridAdvanced widget in a ThingWorx Mashup and I’ve encountered a behavior that I’d like to improve.The grid is populated correctly, and I’ve set the DefaultSelectedRow property to 1, so when the mashup loads, the first entry is automatically selected — which works as expected.However, here's the issue:When I select a different row, make some changes, and then refresh the grid (e.g., by re-binding the data), the grid resets to the default selection (row 1) instead of staying on the row I had selected and updated.This causes a disruption in the workflow, especially when users want to immediately view the changes they made to a specific entry without having to re-select it again manually.My Question:Is there a recommended way or workaround to preserve the selected row in the GridAdvanced widget after a refresh, so that the grid does not jump back to the default selection?Any advice, workaround, or guidance would be greatly appreciated!Thanks in a

With ThingWorx 10 and IoT Streams + Queue Provider, is it possible to off-ramp the property data to Google Cloud?  There is the "Google Cloud Managed Service for Apache Kafka" offering and was wondering if anyone had any experience in the Google Kafka broker or other experiences with IoT Streams in general.  This looks like a great new feature and would eliminate a custom extension that integrates with Google Cloud and I'm seeking any thoughts, advice, experience in this area. Thank you!

Hi all, Our client is running ThingWorx of version 9.3.4. They want to upgrade to higher version. Previously, when I did the upgradation, we faced various discrepancies related to extensions and mashup widgets. And also after consultation with fellow developers and Thingworx experts, I was suggested not to directly upgrade to the latest available version, but to a stable lower one. Hence, I am seeking support of this community, and asking to suggest a stable higher version of TWX that you haven't faced any issues after upgrading. Thank you.

Hi, I am trying to set up a Connection Server and stumbled over the following question, which was not really answered via the HelpCenter:   Can I use a Connection Server with offline storage capability? In case ThingWorx goes down, does the Connection Server persist data and synchronises it once ThingWorx is up and running again? During the ThingWorx outage, the Thing itself is unable to send data to ThingWorx. I would somehow expect, that the Connection Server would be able to take the data and pass it on to the ThingWorx server at a later point, once all services are up and running again.   Thanks, Michael

Hi, Thingworx version : 9.6.1 I am trying to set blinking of red color on thingworx grid based on a value for a particular column value.I used State definition to achieve the same.I created style definition using media entity and for media entity I used GIF for image. But GIF moved to label the to an extent that it became invisible. I have uploaded GridBlink image which shows red color but it is actually blinking and CSS from developer tools which shows the label inside column when width is reduced to 5%. But when this css is used directly as custom css, It is not working. Have uploaded css also. My requirement is to have blinking red color for a grid column and the label value should be appearing while blinking. Kindly suggest me how to achieve this

Hi, I’ve parsed an Excel file on the client using SheetJS and now have a clean JSON spec of the UI (fields, checkboxes, etc.). Next step: generate a Mashup XML from that spec and create the Mashup in ThingWorx automatically.   Results after parsing excel are as below. It gives complete results like how many widgets in one row and then width and height of that widget with all requried details which would be very helpful to now generate a mashupXML       What would you recommend? that how can i now write a file and upload it in thingworx. should i upload this as extension the parse excel code  and then get that results in mashup somehow and then bind it to another extension may be in nodejs to do this job for me to write xml and upload in thingworx.. I have confusions about it like how can nodejs create a file and then upload it in thingworx as extension. (i know how NODEJS can create file but in thingworx context i have confusions)   Thank you
