After all of these years, PTC has still not aligned the Creation Wizard for Promotion Request and Problem Report / Change Request / Review (Design or Peer).  Does anyone know if PTC have any plans or is there an EASY way to add the Select Participant step to a Change Object or the Add Attachments step to a Promotion Request?  (I am sure it can be done by customization but didn't want to go down that route.) I wanted to use the Peer Review but it is not user friendly for the originator to receive an initial task just to set up the participants when it could easily be part of the object creation wizard as it is in the Promotion Request.  So, I decided to configure my own Peer Review using a Promotion Request instead.  But, now I am reminded that you can't "Add Attachments" to a Promotion Request in the create wizard.  So each option only gets me 90% of the way to what I want.

When we have a top level folder displayed, there are 3 areas that we can use to filter/search the results. In the upper right, Windchill will search the entire system. On the left is a Search in selected folders box. Both of these require a wildcard (*) before and after a string to return results. On the right is a Search in table box which does not require wildcards to filter the results.  We had one user who swears on an older version the Search in selected folders did not require wildcards but in Windchill 13.0.2.0, it does. Any insight as to why the one search works without wildcards and the others require them?

Like many of you out there, we are approaching a CMMC audit and certification. Windchill is a big piece and I would like to think we have things well in hand. I was thinking last night, wouldn't it be great if there was a document/checklist that was tailored for a typical Windchill install that aligned to each of the NIST 800-171 controls? I do not expect PTC to hand this out as a standard download, reference document since there are so many varied ways Windchill can be deployed. "Wouldn't it be easier if it all just blew away?" I could see this being a good, collaborative topic for possibly the Fed A&D working group or even customers in general since much of this is just good security and best practices. Hi PTC community.We’ve recently discovered a behavior of the wcadmin user related to Describe by document update.1. We created a Doc Part NMBP-G1 with Releasable Describe by document NMBP-ICT for its first version.2. Upon release, it has the “NMBP-ICT” releasable document and a Releasable Report (parts list) linked to it. This is normal behaviour and what we expect to see. 3. Then I revised the Doc Part NMBP-G1 to version 2.2 via a CN and replaced the “NMBP-ICT” document with a “NMBP-SVD” document as the describe by document. 4. Then This Rev 2.2 of the Doc Part NMBP-G1 and “NMBP-SVD” document were then released.5. For some reason, We updated the previous describe by document NMBP-ICT and released on a separate CN. Upon release of Rev 2 of the “NMBP-ICT” document, wcadmin user adds the Rev 2 “ICT” document back in as a describe by document automatically to the original Doc part NMBP-G1 without notification. and also rev up the Doc part to version 2.3. &nbs

I have created a custom change notice and change task workflow in my Windchill instance. The two workflows are based on the OOTB configurations for change notices and change tasks. When my change task gets to a state of "Implementation" the user can respond to a task put into their workspace with a vote of "Production". This will set the state of the change task to a state of "Production". The workflow for the change task is "Executed" at this point. The workflow for the change notice stops at the "Set Change Notice Resolution Date" task. In the process manager, this task is highlighted green and "Running". By looking at the change notice, I can see that a date has been attributed to the "Resolution Date" attribute. But when I check to see if the activity has any errors against it in the "Process Manager", there are messages saying that "Resolved is not a valid state in the Life Cycle Template". It is possible to edit attributes of a change task in Windchill. Does anybody know of a way that I can view who made changes of this nature, and when they were made?

We have our vaults set to 25K while the default is 50K and Microsoft says the 50K per folder is an okay limit. If we go back and change the limit to 50K and make the existing vaults writeable again, will Windchill start putting the files in vault 1 or continue with the last folder used and then move to the next new folder?

Hello guys, I'm setting up a new cad worker (creo parametric) to publish representations I've noticed that when Creo is called in background to publish something (eg pdf/dwg) it's ignoring my Env Var PTC_CREO_ALT_SETTINGS_PATH that points to our config.pro / config.sup on a network folder Instead it's usign the default ones in C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 11.0.5.0\Common Files\text I know that I can just replace the ones in  c:\program files\ptc\... as a workaround, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make it use the path in the Env Var Tried both the env var at system and user level, and also manually adding it in the launch script bats  (parametric.bat, that is called by the adapter, and proeworker.bat) but seems it keeps using the default ones. I know I've already faced this issue last time and used the workaround, figured this time i'd ask if anyone had a solution random infos:creo view adapter 12.0.0.0creo parametric 11.0.5wind

As mentioned in this topic.I have the same issue with the inability to identify the context type when creating a workspace from the Windchill home page. however, one of my TEST servers is currently exhibiting the desired behavior and i do not know what is different about this server. i have seen the same output in 1-2 screen shots for CS Articles in the PTC KB, but PTC TS cannot determine what is causing the context type to be shown after the name in ( ). anyone else experience this?   we are running wc12.0.2

I have long wondered this question and figured someone out there might know. I have a QML report that looks fairly simple. Even though I have a bunch of selected columns in my output, you are not able to apply sorting on all of them. In this case, I am reporting all Suppliers but the Supplier name is not available to be the default sort. What gives here? It even shows a blank column which is strange.

A CAD Document "Test.prt / C.3" is associated to "test(Design) / C.3" part with an owner link and is also connected to "test(Manufacturing) / C.3" part. Now when a user iterates CAD to C.4 and checks auto associates while checkin, the design view WTPart is synchronized with the latest iteration of CAD Document, but the Manufacturing part is unsynchronized and still has C.3 CAD associated to it.When I synchronize it through BOM transformer, manufacturing part get's synchronized with metadata, but the CAD document is still the older iteration C.3.Question: When an engineer, checkin his CAD document, how to make sure the CAD is synchronized with design view and the manufacturing view automatically?

Am I correct in saying that the only difference between setting an attribute's visibility to "Value Hidden" and "Read Only" from within "Type and Attribute Management" is that the "Value Hidden" setting sets the display of the attribute value to "(Hidden)" and the "Read Only" setting sets it to "(Unassignable)" in the form for the operation the settings were applied to?
