Hi friends, I have a scenario, where BOM structure contains a part for ex: ABC 1.46 (As designed) . But the latest iteration of the part is ABC 1.5 ( As manufactured) . Basically this ABC part has 2 views. When i use the below API to query the top part QueryResult links = wt.fc.PersistenceHelper.manager.navigate(validPart, wt.part.WTPartUsageLink.USES_ROLE,wt.part.WTPartUsageLink.class,false); It always gives me latest iteration which is expected. That is, it is giving me ABC 1.5 ( As manufactured). But the BOM structure has link to ABC 1.46 (As designed). Is it possible to get the exact part linked to top part instead of getting the latest part. ( Based on views) .
Hi EveryoneI want an approver and reviewer in the project management table view. Please find the below screenshot. I found some videos in that video we can use the "Route" option to set a workflow for that task. I want that name and date in the project-plan-schedule table view. Thanks in Advance,AJ
Hi Everyone,Can't see the WT Parts StructureImage 1: I have a 3 model, 1-ASM & 2-Component. (Structure: PO_A.ASM/P1_P.prt/P2.P.prt )Image 2: I only select the main assembly & the 2nd component (P2_P.prt) to auto-associate with WT parts.Image 3: I check the data into Windchill. (CAD+WT)Image 4: Then after opening the 1st Component P1_P.prt auto-associate check in the wt part only in windchill. In Images 5 & 6: 5 image I only see the one WT part main assembly, but in 6 image I can see the part with CAD data. How we can resolve this,Thanks in Advance,Amiro

Short question: How to change the standard workspace load rule "load as saved" to "load newest" for all users?
Hello, as you know, this code checks whether a Change Notice has been opened in the Change Request and closes the task if it has been opened.I want to do the same thing in two problem reports, but I couldn't edit the code.Could you help? result = result="CREATE_CN";if(com.ptc.windchill.pdmlink.change.server.impl.WorkflowProcessHelper.changeNoticeExists((wt.change2.FlexibleChangeItem)primaryBusinessObject)) { result="AUTO_CREATED_CN";}
I deleted parts and an assembly from the workspace that was never in common space. Is there a way to recover these items?
How/where can I create custom roles and add them to local Team. Example role names:Change Management EngineerSystems EngineerDesign Release EngineerChange Control Board
I have found several PTC articles and a great PTC community post but cannot quite find the answer I am looking for. Ref: Windchill Deleted / Deactivated User Process - PTC Community Article - CS94203 - How to delete a user from Windchill PDMLink (ptc.com) Enabling a Deleted User (ptc.com) We have never deleted users and now something came up where we may have to in order to match IT Active Directory. We are not on AD yet but are trying to understand if they give us users with usernames that have already been used by previous employees, what issues that may cause and what workarounds may be available. I think my confusion are around the following questions: Historically, did this best practice change at some point? My colleague, and our consultants, tell me it at least used to create lots of problems and was recommended to not delete users. Is it really a best practice to delete users as PTC recommends? For those that delete users, do you (or rather your IT dept) h
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.0 and Datecode with CPS M030When we try change the state of dac manually, change is not reflected in part[supplier's tab -> in Qualified Attribute]
Hello PTC Community, I've been assigned a project where I need to gain a deep understanding of replication rules and document the current configurations. I'm hoping that some of you with experience in this area can provide some guidance. Specifically, I'm looking to learn: What Are Replication Rules? I'd like to get a clear understanding of what replication rules are and their significance in our environment.Documentation of Current Replication Rules: If anyone has documentation or a template for documenting replication rules, it would be incredibly helpful. This will serve as a valuable reference point for my project. How to Check Current Replication Rules: I'd appreciate some guidance on where and how to access and review the current replication rules within our PTC system. Are there specific tools or procedures I should be aware of?If anyone can provide insights, documents, or helpful resources related to replication rules, I'd be very grateful. Your expertise will gre
Hello, We are looking to make some changes to our current revision scheme, primarily to move from file/list-based to a state-based revision scheme. I’d like to get some feedback on this before trying on our dev server. I’ve attached the modified .xml that I plan to upload, our existing Series is “COMPANY” and I’ve appended my new series as “COMPANY_STATE_BASED”. The current revision scheme was customized from OotB and implemented quite some time ago. It allows numeric values as legacy, then begins with ”–“ and continues to alphabetic. We would like to update this to a state-based revision scheme with the same values, except that the numeric labels would be used for Design and Development phases and automatically switch to alphabetic labels once an object moves to Production. From what I’ve read I understand that it’s possible but not recommended to change revision schemes once in use. Questions:Is the file formatted correctly?
We are currently running Windchill 12.0.2.10 in production with Creo 7.0.10.0. The cache is in a .pdm12 folder under the user's start -in folder on disk. If we run Creo 9.0.5.0 to the same server without making any other changes, we have an issue with switching folders in the workspace. If I dlete the .pdm12 folder and all content, register Windchill in Creo 9, everything works normally. If we then run Creo 7 again, it hoses the cache and Creo 9 will not switch workspace folders until we delete the .pdm12 folder and resgister WIndchill again. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a solution? I am not too worried about it, as once we go to a new version, we seldom have need to utilize the older version again. It probably would only be me as the admin who might have a need for an older version of Creo to test something.
Hi, I have the similar case. I have a Material file (MS_Plate_5THK) created, under which i have created user defined parameter RAW_MATERIAL whose value in string is "5mm MS Plate" I want below parameters to be added in Windchill BOM. PTC_MATERIAL_NAME RAW_MATERIAL (This is coming from material name and not from Part file) I know i have to play with attributes in Windchill. What steps should i do in Windchill attributes? Regards, Jignesh
Hi comunity; I want to send e-mail in the project plan. How can I send an e-mail to the user and the administrator every time a task is closed?
Need to resize the text box dynamically.
windchill: The requirement is to update the legal value list of the classification attribute using an API/java code and the list should be available to search in the classification search. How to set the constraints of the classification attribute using code since we don't have any direct api currently available in ptc.
When I add objects to workspace, it is giving failure giving "Complete family table information is not accessible for some documents in Active workspace."and "The Object with the following key was deleted or inaccessible"I checked all the access. I have engineer access to modify those documents.
I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.7We recently updated our license file and which required some new configurations. In order to get any of my CAD authors to be able to connect to windchill and access the database I had to make them all administrators. I did have them in the following groups. Authors, WL Base Licesne, and WL Creo Data Management, I don't have any users under the WL PDM Link Perm Group. Once I added them to the organization adminisrator group they could then access windchill. However, now from the workspace the checkin button is missing. I can upload from the workspace so I can set folders I want doing that but then I have to checkin from the creo navigation not inside the workspace. Also inside the commonspace the Move command is missing. I need help setting things up correctly.
I see this often enough to want to fix it. While we do have steps in place spot internal vs external emails, the generic-ness of the system generated emails causes people to question clicking on that link and I do not blame them. Any thoughts on how we can improve this? It we train our users to expect these types of emails, it would not be hard for someone to exploit in a phishing attack.
We need to hide/disable OOTB Revise button from Workspace table & CAD --> Right click --> Revise, Since this is WGM UI, Please suggest the approach to achieve the same in Windchill WGM 12 & Windchill --> Product --> Workspace UI. Snapshots from Workspace UI.
Product Structure Export to ExcelI might have added to a thread about this, but when not sure, try again.Even this one has ptc support & R&D stumped, although you would think it be easy & OOTB.From a wtpart detail/info page, you can select actions/export & when app opens, you can enter a xls file to export to.But the excel/xls has OOTB attributes columns. You would think there would be a policy, rule, config properties, rbInfo or something file that specifies what the OOTB attribute columns are to be.You would think you could then edit that file to allow you to generate an excel/xls with your own chosen attribute columns. Somewhere the system knows what attributes to report on.But not only doesn't ptc support or R&B know how to do such a thing, they don't know even know which file controls what attributes are reported for OOTB.From the Structure Tab & Multi-Level BOM report, you can change/customize the View & chose which attribute columns will show. But you
Hello, Has anyone tried to figure out the way to be able to only download secondary content from WTDocument and prohibit download of primary content at the same time? Assuming we have this table "Primary Content" and "Attachments" - I would like to be setup ACLs in a way to be able to download Attachments, but not Primary Content. Obviously I setup already the ACLs in a way that "download" is prohibited for this type of WTDocument. But the goal is to be able to do it without changing Java code of related data utility. Any ideas? Best regards,Mateusz Walendziuk
Our notes were originally created as CAD parts, type: other. These notes show up in my \Creo-Standards\Notes folder. However, I am not able to edit the notes.I created new updated notes however they import as text files and are not visible or selectable to add to my drawings. How do I either:1) edit my existing CAD part note file?2) Create a new CAD part with Type: other as a note file in my default directory?3) Convert my .txt files to a file that is selectable for a drawing note? I'm using CREO 7 and Windchill 11.1
