Hello everyone,I have Windchill PDM Link 11.1 M020  I am try to download folder content from windchill server using REST API in java but, I have triedfrom Article - CS346406 Windchill REST API but it wont work. What should I do can someone please suggest me another API for this or another way to get folder content to download at the local storage using REST API  

Greetings Windchill people.We are just starting to plan the use of an mBOM from our eBOM.Our eBOM contains many COTS and Standard parts that will not be revised and should only be in an mBOM view.We plan to assign all these wtParts as our mBOM view. These COTS and Standard parts will be displayed in the eBOM structure with a view filter that displays both eBOM and mBOM view parts.For engineering parts that we control the design we will Duplicate with Propagation so that each eBOM view of the part has a mBOM view (green check). Question.When another assembly is ready for downstream mBOM view creation and uses the same COTS / Standard parts that are already in mBOM view, we would expect the equivalence link icon to be a green check mark?It is currently the yellow triangle (equivalence does not exist on any iteration).We can manually select the same part in the upstream and downstream and establish equivalence but would expect to not have to do this.What do we need to fix?Is there a

We use the Multi-level Components Report a lot for getting consolidated quantities in a single sheet. And then today, I ran into a case where it's telling me I have no quantities of a part on a BOM when I'm in fact looking at the part on that BOM.  Is this a bug or am I missing something obvious?  

After upgrading to Windchill 12 Audit Log Purge Management page stopped showing purge results. Does this mean that this page really stopped working in showing purge job results after Windchill 11.2?   

The default clipboard size is 250, the models my company generates are far larger (average 5k, however, 15k files is not out of the realm of possibilities). Inside a change notice anything after 1000 causes massive delays if it ever completes. How else do I add the items to the Affected Items box or include them as part of the change?

This is not a question but a share, one of the features I miss about the old community platform. Not everything is a question.  A while back I added these custom WVS Publish actions to my system which appear in the Search Results toolbar: Windchill PDMLink : An example of customized WVS Job Scheduler Methods... Recently, I enabled a Thumbnail worker to publish representations on PDF documents. Now, how best to find those PDF document and batch publish them? I could create a custom search looking for "PDF" file format and just click that action but I want something that shows me what's left. Enter the Report Template. I created a report that returns document that have no default representation.  Now, I can run this and select a bunch of documents to publish until they are all done. I do not want to overwhelm the publisher since its day time but I can throw a few hundred every now and then till search comes back zero. Easy.     

Hi,     I am new to PTC Windchill tool and Reliability calculations. I have been trying the Try out version of the tool. I want to find the FIT rate of some components in my BOM. I need to configure OIR for change activity to have two lifecycle templates based on the value of an attribute. the attribute is <Attr id="change_owningChangeItem"/> and it's value can either be "Change Implementation - xxxxxx"  or "Change Notice - xxxxxxx" where xxxxx number is generated by system. if the value is "Change Implementation - xxxxxx" then LC needs to be "Change Implementation LC"if the value is "Change Notice - xxxxxxx" then LC needs to be "PLM Change Notice LC"     

I am looking for Windchill 11 vs Windchill 12 modules comparison. Is there any kind of report from which i can compare both?

PTC is not going to fix this but I can't see why not unless it has something to with WTPartUsageLinks getting all messed up. If to preserve history,  I can let that stuff go if it means I can clean up old iterations to remove holds on stuff I want to delete. The image below shows that MFG view was created off A.7 which means you cannot purge this or anything after that unless you delete A.- (yes, this is how downstream view versions looked back in the day). Seems like there should be a job or preference to just shift the branch point to the latest iteration A.8. I know there a SQL hacks and I could probably write something to fix

What actually is Replica server ? this is same as actual production server that has application and copy to another physical servers?then what is replica vaults? how the connection is made between Main site and the replica server?I am just confused between Replica server and replica vaults. can you please explain me in detail.@BenLoosli Or do you have any document that has the details of replication configuration and precisely explain the Master site and replica site?   

Has anyone had any luck setting up the Solidworks 'Design Library' to work with Windchill? Searching the Windchill Help Documentation doesn't seem to yield any results.   It seems like Solidworks 'Design Library' setup files need to be on a local or network folder. I would guess Windchill wouldn't like this (ghost objects, possible publishing problems, etc.).   Note: the Solidworks 'Design Library' is not the Solidworks Toolbox (which has a Windchill help page for how to configure with Windchill).    

Hi,   Has anyone come across the below scenario. I would like to understand more on this.   We use the OOTB Promotion request Workflow process for an object and after raising a Promotion Request, in the Approvel Promotion request task when the approver sends it back for rework the primary object goes back to Inwork state. At this point in time, we need to restrict the users to create another Promotion Request for the Primary object, as the ACL would let the user to create a Promotion Request. Can this be achieved through any of the OOTB options or should we go only through the validator route and write a piece of code?   Thanks in Advance!   Amarkarthi.

Hello all, I have added an action to anonymize a user from Windchill and LDAP. I have also added the action in the pop up menu on the Participant administration page. However, I want that the action should be performed even when the user is not selected. This is similar to the OOTB delete action already implemented by PTC. I'm working on an event handler that will check when a part has it's 'Common Attributes' updated. Has anybody figured out which event those actions trigger? I've tried a handful of those out of PersistenceManagerEvent but they don't seem to be the right ones.

Looking to implement the XPLM Integrate2 Client software that integrates Altium Designer to Windchill. We have implementation in our Test environment that partially works when creating Windchill objects from Altium/XPLM. XPLM is able to successfully create the WTPart in Windchill with auto-number generator for the PCB Part with no problem but fails to create the Schematic and the Project documents with an error stating that the auto-number generator failed with the following error which, of course, should be correctable by updating the OIR : "PlmError: Unable to generate next number for CAD document. Please check number generator configuration in Windchill" Problem is, we do not know which Windchill Type and OIR is being referenced/called by the XPLM Integrate2 Client. Does anyone else have experience with this? I am trying to work with XPLM Support but so far I have not been impressed. We're going to try enabling every DEBUG logger we can on the Windchill side

OOTB, the CR only waits on the Change Notice completion if the user acknowledges their creation of the change notice. Functionally, the process continues since the the change notice is created and the user can proceed one. I know its a training issue but the CR workflow is halted until the user completes a task and could impact resolution dates. Do others have this problem and how have you solved it?  

I want to find out what Windchill offers in terms of using the OSLC standard?I’d like to explore how to program the libraries/APIs to use OSLC. Can you get this information to me?Basically, I’d like to probably just come up with a simple application that performs a get and put using the library. Ultimately, I'm looking for a simple OSLC application that programmatically pulls data from one application and deposits it in another application. I'd like to use Windchill and/or Cameo to accomplish this.Do you have a program for me that does this? The following videos do not demonstrate how to communicate programmatically. They also rely heavily on the "Advanced REST Client" and "Jazz Services" which I am not concerned with at all!My Main Questions are: Can you tell me where the library interfaces are? Can you point me to any examples? What languages are available for the libraries? How do I compile the examples straightforwardly?What else should I know or be asking? Thank you

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.1 and Datecode with CPS 12.1.0.0I created a new Subtype of the WTPart Object in Windchill, called 'Design Part'. With that I created a simple BOM with about 4 empty Objects, simply to test it out.Now I am trying to change a BOM in Design view to Service view, however whenever I try to create a new downstream view of it, in the Service Associative Part Structure Browser, I get an error saying: ATTENTION: Downstream cannot be created. There is no valid relationship constraint between parent type 'Design Part' and child type 'Design Part'. And it does not work. When I try to do it with a WTPart, then it works just fine.
