I created new roles, but they are not Visible in advanced LifeCylceMangement. Where is my issue?

HiWe have a number of customization api's running in Windchill that take effect when promotion occurs. As this is generating a fair amount of logging I decided to put this in a separated log file.I use next configuration for this (log4jMethodServer.properties):This creates also a log file for both method server processes (javaMS.exe) and one for the background method server (avaBGM.exe). The loggers with id 21024 & 14912 are method server logs that I do not want. The are empty too.What am I doing wrong to get these extra logfiles for the method servers? I am only interested in deriving the output from original the BM method server to the CustomLogger.

Is it possible in Windchill to prevent the download of additional files pdf, dxf, dwg (see image 2.png) of a representation?I found in the support an article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/cs49421 which reports to the policy on the derived image object.If I apply it and deny the download, the representation is no longer displayed and I cannot open it with creo view.(see image 1.png) What other ways are there?Ty,Matteo.

Hi there, I recently switched from Windchill Essentials to PDMLink.In Windchill Essentials the worker created several export formats according to the EPM-doc-type (pdf for drawings, step for cad-parts, etc.).Though I did not changed "Creo View Configuration for Site"(under Site->Utilities->Visualization Configuration Administration ), additional files under "representations" are no longer created.e.g.a cad-part, which was released and published under Windchill Essentials, shows an available step-download a cad-part, which was released under PDMLink, shows no step-file where to start?  

I'm trying to figure out how to add a condition on an attribute constraint. Here is the scenario I'm looking to solve.I have 2 different Organizations in my Windchill 10.2 M010 environment, Org1 and Org2. I have different users in each organization and they cannot see the data of the other org. My Soft Type (MyDocType) is defined at Site level. It has an IBA called docCode, which has a Legal Value List constraint on it.Here is my question: Can I put a condition on this IBA so that the users in Org1 see the list of values: A, B, C; and the users in Org2 see the list of values: D, E, F?

Hello All,   I am just having  a hard time understanding if Windchill can do what I need.  Perhaps it can I'm just not understanding the method.   I have attributes "MAKE_BUY" and "MFG".  I would like the value of "Make_Buy" drive the Value of "MFG"   If Make_BUY = M then MFG = "XXXX" (string) If Make_Buy = B then MFG = (list of about 8 string values).   Any help would be appreciated

Based on the PTC documentation, S3 in AWS is the only supported method to store vault data in AWS.  I'd like to know if anyone has used an alternative like EFS (Elastic File System) for a NAS-like vault storage across a cluster.  Any other comments about S3 and your experience would be appreciated as well.  Thanks in advance.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.1 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS08In my workflow, the email notification does not send an email to the user assigned to a role when that role is in the Recipients. Hello!Some users have contacted me because some specific parts give them the wt.fc.ObjectVectorEnumerator warning message when they try to check out the parts in PDM.I went and checked them out, and I didn't experience the error. So I want to know if there might be a problem with the users.

the License management utility and also Windchill Diagnostic Tasks Scheduler is not seen though I am the admin for site. can you please guide me if I have to add any profile. but I see it in 12.0 version which i have installed it on spare machine. 

I am looking at hosting Windchill in an Oracle hotel (which would be Oracle 19c). This hotel contains multiple application schemas. The installation guides seem to indicate Windchill is expected to be the only application in the Oracle database. As I run Oracle on the Exadata appliances (Oracle's hardware platform), the most efficient use of the hardware is to have fewer databases with more schemas in them - which contradicts what I am reading. That being said, I wanted to verify:  can I run Windchill on an Oracle database that hosts different programs (and schemas) in the same instance? Or, can Windchill can be the only application in the database (as the installation guide alludes)?

As per the original post.    Well passed a decade on this one... have you figured out how to get auto-checkin to auto-create a wtpart? It still behaves that way out of the box. 

Hello,  I'm part of a university engineering group composed of undergraduate students. We have been using Windchill for almost a decade, and with the end of PTC's support of academic servers, we are looking into hosting the server ourselves. One of our biggest concerns is being the sysadmin for a server of this scale. We were hoping that someone could provide some insight on what we should prepare for. Is being sysadmin something that we could expect a student to do? (I.e. attending to occasional maintenance and updates, but otherwise Windchill will run itself. This would look like 0-1hrs/week.) Or, is it something that would require full-time attention and oversight? (Upwards of 10 hrs/week.) Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to edit a Change Notice Description after it is created? Is there a setting or preference that I am unaware of that allows for this? Picture shows my created Change Notice with nothing entered in the Description. If I Edit the Change Notice there is no way to edit the Description. The fact that I did not initially enter a Description is not causing this.

I have a requirement where, when a form from JSP is submitted from the JSP page in windchill, all the values from the form has to be retrieved and populated in the FormProcessor. @HelesicPetr 

Is it possible to disable the publish to a Distribution target if the Part is in a particular lifecycle state?e.g- Part A.1(Version) Approved(Lifecycle State) --> Should publish to DT1Same part when flows to Released lifecycle state should publish to only DT2 and not DT1e.g- Part A.1(Version) Released(Lifecycle State) --> Should publish to DT2 only and not to DT1 Does anyone have an idea how this can be implemented? Because Windchill does not allow to remove the DT1 through API in Released state as there is no change in part Version and the part is successfully published to DT1 in Approved state.

Unable to Edit or Modify existing Notebook entry WIndhcill 10.2 There is no options under the Actions button, only copy and collapse.  When I right mouse click on the a General Link or Hotlink Only see the view information icon.  I thought I should be able to delete or add local file etc....  Any ideas - I am looking at PTC Article CS129909 which seems to suggest no fix in this version of Windchill. Is that correct or I am missing somethgin regarding the Access Control Policys.

The problem is that basically no assembly can be "built" because they comprise parts or subassemblies which are family table members. Hi teamI have about a thousand Solidworks CAD objects, and often I have the corresponding Part objects, but they need to be connected using EPMBuildRule objects. In many cases I need to create the Part object too. Can it be done using ODATA? I spent a bit of time looking at detailed logs of publish jobs and comparing them to data that's available in Publishing Statistics from the WVS monitor. I can connect the dots to all the values in the statistics except for the "Job Submit time". I understand that's when the publishing was triggered (say through a check-in). What would cause for a large difference between it and "Job start"? Shouldn't that be pretty much instant?

Hello - I always upload my files in my workspace at the end of the day or session.  My colleagues and I have never had to recover a file that was uploaded but not checked in.  But, we are all wondering the steps to do so.  Can a user recover uploaded files or does it have to be an administrator?  Either way, what are the steps to recover uploaded files?  Can they be recovered if the workspace has been deleted?
