We have to assess our Winchill Infrastructure annually against Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) issued by IASE.These are required to be assessed annually by some of our customers.One aspect is the need to Encrypting data at rest in the ORACLE database and also data in transit when transmitted between the Application server and Oracle.Does anyone in the community (PTC or other Customers) know if this is supported and can point me in the right direction with respect to system configuration.Thanks in AdvanceEd LyonsLockheed Martin Space Systems

Hi,   I am trying to refresh my memory with MPMLink as I fear I may have gone confused with other PLM systems. I thought to remember that in MPMLink it is possible to include formula with corrective coefficient to take into account manufacturing processes/constraints  eg heat treatment deformation.   I cannot find any documentation in PTC/U. I appreciate the University does not cover much the advanced topics though. I am wondering if any of you know what I am talking about and if you could refer me to some documentation. Or confirm I dreamed it and I really got confused with other MPM systems   Thanks

After I get ManufacturerPart, I would like to get its Manufacturer Sourcing Status (amlPreferenceData). Which field should I use? e.g. Part Number = mfgPart.getNumber(). Manufacturer Sourcing Status = mfgPart.getAMLPreferenceData()? I can not find it. Please help!

Hello everyone,   at the moment we search for a solution for our interrnal project management. A important requirment is the option to manage ressources over all projects so the so the project manager can see the availability of an employee.   My research show me that is not a OOTB functionality of projectlink? I there any way to to something like that?

SolidWorks CAD models managed in Windchill are going to be replaced by Creo Parametric models and drawings as part of an effort to retire SolidWorks.  All the SolidWorks models have Owner links to WTParts (no drawings).     Most of the WTParts are used in other WTPart structures.    Are there any utilities available that can remove the owner link to all the SolidWorks models or change the link from Owner to Image.      This would help us to get the new Creo Parametric models with Owner links to the parts.       --Kirk Wemple

We have several legacy files that follow a numbering scheme but are not necessarily in order. I want to change the next document number value instead (ex instead of 00010, I want it to be 00100). All the documentation points at how to CREATE a sequence, but not change it. Does anyone know how to set the value for the sequence after the table as been created?

Hello all, we are starting to use Packages - primarily to start for collecting data to be provided to vendors for direct use, not for import to another Windchill system.  Just experimenting a bit today to see if we can include files on the Content/Attachments table of CAD Documents. Don't immediately see a way to do this, so asking the community - is there a way to include attachment files in a package to which a CAD Document is added? Note: We use Attachments extensively, partly due to publishing using publish rules that take advantage of the "additional_files" functionality.   thanks in advance.

This is more of a post letting others know what I encountered today with my Chrome-Windchill connection, but if anyone knows what is going on that would be great to know.  It seems that Chrome recently updated their browser, mine is showing 83.0.4103.97, and I am now having issues with it.  I have cleared all the history out of Chrome and it still has the issue.  The issue has been seen across multiple computers, is that during the creation of a CN, when you go in and edit the task during that creation a blank window pops up with the spinning circle of death.  I am on Windchill 11.2.1.0.  The only error that is in any of the logs is: 2020-06-05 07:51:47,667 ERROR [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8015-exec-1] com.ptc.windchill.enterprise.change2.tags.ChangePropagationTag <USERNAME> - action oid was null   I have opened a support call and am waiting to hear back from them.   I don't know if anyone else has seen this yet or not.

I try to create a report using Query Builder, that gives me all Change Notices and their related Change Requests. We have an one to many relationship between CR and CN, thus one CN can only have one CR or none.   From this article, I saw, that CN and CR are linked with "Adressed By": https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS63595   I attached a Screenshot that shows my setup. I selected Change Notice.number and Change Request.number as my output.   When I run my report and select the CN number only, I get every CN number. When I select both numbers, I get less results. When I modify the join to be an outer join againt CR, I get every CN number for both, but some CR numbers are empty. When I open a CN with an empty CR number, there is a CR related to that CN in the Associated Process Objects table of the CN. Results where the CR number is not empty look exactly the same like the one with an empfy filed, when I open the CN.   I want a list of CN where the CR numb

How to synchronize a workflow with Part Request as PBO to wait for a second Part request in a separate workflow (number of this second Part request is know and stored in global WF variable type string).The synchronization should trigger on part request state change and check if the number is equal to the one stored as global WF variable and state is "RESOLVED"

Hi All,   For OOTB - Advanced Search, following are high level steps: 1. User enters some words in search fields 2. OOTB processors or beans reads the field values and converts to query  3. I recently installed after loader, but I noticed that the viewables are no longer generated on check in. Clicking the visualization window publishes a viewable with the desired attachments with no errors. I am starting the planning stage for an upgrade to Windchill, going from11.0 m030to 11.1 m02 CPS15. The 11.0 is running on Oracle 12cR1 which will be upgraded to 12cR2. I am just planning on doing an export of the Oracle DB and then install Oracle 12cR2 and import the exported data. I have done this before when I changed the database machine, but that was on the same release of Oracle. Is there anything that needs to be done with the Upgrade Manager when changing Oracle versions? If not, I will do this first so 11.0 m030 is on Oracle 12cR2 before the 11.1 upgrade. For the 11.1 upgrade, I will install 11.1m020CPS15 in a new directory structure on the same server as 11.0m030. Then run Upgrade Manager. There are a few system files that will need to be copied to the new install. Hopefully it will be that simple! The file vaults are on the Windchill server and will not be moved. If anyone can offer any tips on this planning or things to watch for, that would be appreciated. I have 3 product

On 12.0 there is no problem with adding Custom WVS Scheduler Methods, but I have problem with part 'Publish Actions from Windchill Search result / Folder Contents table'.    Does any of you try to implement it on Windchill 12??   regards Krzysztof

Hi,   I am running into authorization issues when trying to execute ContentLoaderFunctions such as GetJSON, or PostJSON. I have used debug logging and PostText statements to get more troubleshooting information. The Script Logs indicate the following error: Login Authorization Failed   The server could not verify that you are authorized to access this document. The credentials you provided are either invalid (for example, you entered the wrong password) or your password has expired.   Alternately, your browser may be unable to provide the credentials that are required for authorization. Contact your organization’s administrator for more specific information about this error.   I can get everything to work for my account by adding my username and password to the parameters, but this is not a desirable solution in our production environment. Since the users are already authenticated via Windchill, is there a way to use that already established authentication for these
