In my early years I pulled in a family table of screws and changed the colors of a few of them. Now I can't check in any of my models or drawings since now every screw in the table shows modified and new? When I try to check something in it pulls in ALL the screws and check in fails. The event manager says " 8-32x1-9-16pphsem.prt Document must be new or checked out in order to be modified. This is the same for all 676 screws. If I try to delete them alone from my workspace I get " To remove a child (2-56x1-11-16pfh.prt), parent (fastener.prt) object should also be removed
Hi all.I am looking to report a count of times an ECN Task is reworked. I had mapped it means to Count how many "Complete Change Notice Task" tasks -1, plus Count of "Rework Change Activity" task.simplifying in a formula :Count("Complete Change Notice Task")- 1 + Count ("Rework Change Activity") Today I´m running 2 different reports to have these counts (as in attachment), then export them and merge using excel. Is it possible to use OOTB QML to consider both conditions in same report?
This question may sound a little crazy but has anyone created a design review manually? What I mean is if the feature/option to create a 'New Design Review' is not available, is it still possible to construct a design review? Currently running Windchill 11.0 M030-CPS06

Hi all, I'm sorry if I'm posting this question in a wrong place, but I couldn't find a group related to InService. Our company is going to implement an SPM system and I'm about to dig it out. However, there's a term of "E3C server" that I couldn't figure out what it is. Can someone explain to me what E3C stands for ? Thank you very much.
We use a Windchill template for new ACAD drawings which set the document category to drwaing. I exported a ACAD Drawing from my Workspace to make some tests at our testsystem. After import the DWG into my Workspace at our test system the document category is set to CAD Part. I found no oportunity to change the document category at the import menue. Has anyone a soulution for this problem? Many thanks, Peter
No templates available for new graphic information element after selecting authoring language.. Please guide on this as I can select any authoring language to create creo illustrate and IsoDraw file without any content in Windchill.
We're running into an issue with one of our systems where when trying to register our server with the correct location, Creo keeps throwing the "Invalid server location" error. The location is correct. One thing we noticed was that the .cache2008 folder in AppData/Roaming isn't getting created. There's no Environmental Variable settings changing the cache location and at this point we're stumped. Any suggestions? We can try a re-install... but aside from that what else could be causing the cache folder not to get created?
Ok...not Creo model related. I am working on laptop working remotely. I am working in Windchill. I can resize the window with ctrl -/+. But I'm not getting a right scroll down or "done" buttons when I go to put files back in. Any general suggestions on working on a browser on a small laptop window? Thanks, Wayne
Greetings, My boss is curious how to find status of ECN tasks working their way through the system. Is there a way of collecting the various ECNs and what is going on with them, such as their current task status by some sort of report query? Thanks, James Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS09WGM 11.0 M030Inventor Pro 2017Windows 10
I'm trying to fix an issue that I've run into with one of my co-worker's computers. I work in the IT department at my company, and he recently submitted a ticket showing a screenshot in windchill of a part not showing GD&T notations. I tried a few different fixes, including installing and testing new fonts, but nothing seemed to fix this sheet. However, I asked him to open a different part, and the notations displayed just fine. Is there any reason that the notations are not properly displaying on just this one part? Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance, Matt
I'm now working on our standard purchased parts...For SolidWorks, we have some parts modeled in-house, stored in a Library. Doesn't seem very optimized. Have been studying and playing with Toolbox. Pretty slick actually. Working perfectly so far. Looks like we'll go this way instead of modeling parts on our own.Would like to compare notes w/anyone currently using SolidWorks Toolbox parts stored in Windchill - especially if you have a shared network Toolbox location.
Hello, Customer has PDM Essentials installed and he wants to know if there is any why to verify the license type or validate that SQL Server database is licensed ? The situation is that he wants to have this information when there is a Microsoft audit (e.g) and he should prove that and he is doubting that the PTC documentation can be sufficiente. Using query "SELECT SERVERPROPERTY ('licenseType') it returns DISABLED (see screnshot attached). Thank you in advance
Hi All,Was planning to integrate Windchill with Agile PLM. Any inputs will be ofgreat help. Thanks in Advance,Sunil
Hello, When performing a Save As in PTC Windchill I am easily able to add hot link locations when I want to set a location. However I cannot find out how to remove hot links that I have added and no longer need to use. Do anyone know how to do this?
Is it possible to create a Manufacturing View in different folder than Design View? In OIR we added some code so the folder location during WTPart creation is set based on the View. However this won't seem to work when creating a New View Version of an existing WTPart. The only way to make it work, is to give Create and Change Domain permission for the Manufacturing Engineer in Engineering Domain and ask him to Cut and Paste the Manufacturing View into the Manufacturing folder.Windchill 10.1 M030
We're looking for a way to have multiple versions of an object with identical content translated into different DTDs. Ideally, this content would be automatically updated when one is changed. For example, a content element in a DITA format could exist in Windchill. A user could then reuse this content as part of a 40051-2B document. Then, in the future, if the original DITA content element changes, the same element in 40051-2B will be automatically updated as well. Is there a way to automatically translate content from DITA to 40051-2B and vice versa, preferably while keeping it as a referenced server object?
I am currently using a an Excel macro that imports the Product Structure into the Excel sheet. The macro prompts the user for the log in name, it then pops up a GUI asking for an assembly part number. Once the assembly part number is entered it asks for the revision level. The macro then returns the Product Structure into the Excel sheet. Does anyone know a similar macro that can extract the BOM from the Design Assembly and not from the Product Structure (WTPart)?
Hii all, Imported an assembly into workspace from local disc and 154 ghost parts came into sight and i know it's a nightmare. tried dm_hide_model_dummy_deps=yes in configuration settings but didn't worked out, went to reference viewer to delete unwanted dependencies but a dialogue box " your model includes a very large number of external and local references click ignore to ignore missing references and continue " surfaced. if i click ignore only i can proceed to reference viewer and there no missing references are visible. got struck here any suggestions to clear those ghosts would be helpful
Hello, showing thousand as 1,000 is very confusing to our european engineers who are used to see a dot or space as thousand separator. Is there a way to modify or deactivate the thousand operator in Windchill? Thanks in advance for your help. Best Chris
Hello community, So I have two questions regarding the Navigate / Windchill Extension matter. PTC Navigate 1.3, Thingworx 7.1. When I'm gathering all objects of specific type, e.g. all libraries using Windchill REST API, it returns me a set with libraries that are invisible for my user in Windchill - can it be a bug? What is the set of attributes available to be used in the OData $filter parameter? Because it work e.g. for containerReference, but it does not work for versionInfo.identifier.versionId. I'd like to filter WTDocuments by custom attribute and it seems to be not possible? Any help appreciated. Regards, J.
I'm trying to export a list of all our drawings in Winchill with their respective Version and State listed. I stumbled across this link: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS237391 which shows how to set up a query build report. By changing the NOT IN to IN in Condition 1, I was able to export the report showing all of our drawing part numbers with the .drw extension. Can anyone help me as to how to add to this to display the Version (rev) and State for each drawing in the report?? When I do a standard search for .drw I can export with all the info but we have over 15,000 drawings and that exceeds the search limit.
