Hi There,   per default our Windchill 11.0 M030 displays real number attributes on the information page with 12 digits after the comma like seen on the attached screenshot.   Is there a way to format the numbers to a given precision?   Many thanks in advance.   Best Chris

So I am trying to set up Log Rotation for the access.log file with Apache. I am by no means an Apache or web server admin of any type... so not really sure what I'm looking at. I got the log rotation to take action by adding this line to the httpd.conf file: CustomLog "|bin/rotatelogs.exe -l D:/ptc/Windchill_11.0/HTTPServer/logs/access.%Y.%m.%d.log 86400" common   This has resulted in the creation of the daily access log file like I wanted, but it is also still creating the single access.log file. See picture attached... How do I get it to stop creating the access.log file and only use the daily rotation log?

Hi All,   I have a part structure where there is one document added twice to that part structure with two different versions. Likewise If Part A is an End Item I have Document A added to the part A and Document A has got a version of 2.1. However the same Document A has been added once again to the structure where it has a version of 1.1.   So within a part structure there is one single document with multiple versions. Now I wish to validate the part structure and display a message(Like a dialog box or a error box) to the user stating that a previous version of Document is there in the part structure and it should be updated with that of the most recent version. How can I be achieving it. Can someone please let me know about it   Thanks and Regards, Aditya

Hello,   I am using Windchill Quality Solutions 11.0 for FTA(Fault Tree Analysis). My calculation type is Lambda Tau, to get the failure rate and time for it. With this type, I can calculate the Unavailability(Q), which is probability of failure.   But what I really want to know the the failure rate(lambda) and exposure time(tau) of it.   I guess there might be way to get these values on FTA function, but I can not find it so far.   Please guide me how to get it with detail instruction.   Thank you.

Has anyone tried creating this? How to add routing options in the task completion area?

Hello,   I'm struggling to configure Navigate to only return latest released objects, and hoping someone here knows a solution. I'm using a Saved Search in Windchill with the following criteria:   Iteration = Latest Revision = Latest State = Released   Running this search in Windchill with input of "*TEST*" returns 4 files all latest released which is correct. The same search in Navigate however, results in 7 files including some (not all) older versions of the 4 files. Expectations are that I get the same search results when using the exact same input and Saved Search between Windchill and Navigate.   What's odd is that, if I run a search in Navigate without any wildcards, using the exact Number or Name, then I get the correct result, the latest released file. Seems like older versions are included in the search result when using a wildcard character and/or when there's more than one file that matches criteria. This is a query regarding newly introduced 'Platform Structures' module with Conditional Rule capability.For 'New Conditional Rule' wizard, * In 'IF' section, user can select multiple choices or choices from different options - using AND, OR, NOT logical operators.* But this is not valid while adding multiple choices or even choice from different options in 'THEN' section.It seems, system validator fails to identify logical operator for this wizard.Has anyone observed this earlier while building Rules for Product Configuration ?

Hi All, We are approaching a complex project where we need to migrate ~400K Files (prt/as/drw), latest ONLY, from TC environment to WNC 11.1 We intent to do it using WBM. We completed the formal training of PTC and we are able to install, configure & run data loading of sample data. As we are currently planning the process and we have some question where we looking for "trusted advice" from the experts.   some of the question are: 1. is there and prefered way to load the data ? should it be wiser to load first parts, then assemblies and then drawing or it makes no difference? 2. is there any recommendation for amount of items to run at each load ? we understood that going "all at once" for the 400K items, we be problematic due to performance issues. is it ? if do, what is the recommended chunk ? 3. There are tons of people using AWS.  There are tons of people running Windchill.  There are tons of people running SQL Server.  Is there anybody out there running Windchill and SQL Server on AWS?  I've been trying for days, along with PTC tech support to install Windchill on an AWS instance.  It just will not connect to SQL Server no matter what we try.    Yes, we are using supported versions of everything.  SQL Server 2016 Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1. Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 RTM 64-bit Locale English AMI provided by Amazon. Windchill 11.   SQL Server appears to be installed correctly We can log into it using the  Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) tool but the PTC Solution Installer (PSI) refuses to connect to it. "Failed to connect to the database. Please check the login credentials (Hostname, Instance name, Port number and User connection information)."   Please help!

Currently there are 2000 objects being displayed in a Windchill folder, is there a preference setting to change that amount higher?

I would assume performance degradation as well. Hi,We are trying to make an automatic numbering system for certain product folders. Ideally, we would like to have a prefix that reflects the product folder name and then a sequential number (auto generated).Our current system involves us manually changing the prefix in the OIR. Is there any way to add the context as a prefix by editing the OIR file so that this is automatic for all products created? I am setting up a new installation of Windchill 11.0 M030 and having issues with getting the OIRs to ask for the file name instead of using a sequence number from the DB. I have looked at sample code, even the code from my other installation (which someone else set up at V8) and am having problems understanding the code within the OIR.   Is there someplace in the documentation that explains the various value and constraint parameters used in an OIR that I haven't found? Will someone share their OIR for number that will ask for the number instead of pulling the sequence from the db?    

Hi All, Here is my requirement, I have 2 Attributes on Document, i.e. Level A and Level B. level A is Boolean type attribute and Level B is String type.   we need a behavior like, when Level A is true then Level B must be mandatory attribute and if Level A is false then Level B is normal attribute or grayed out attribute.   while doing this i am exploring "Conditional Constraints" in type and attribute manager, where we can choose a Driver attribute on that basis it will render driven attribute, but my difficulty is that in this case, i am able to select Driver attribute, but not able to set behavior of driven attribute.   Please check attached Image. and let me know how i can save information          

Greetings all. At my company there has been a practice for some time to use the Unit of Measure in SAP as EA.  We are about to install Windchill 11.0 M030.   I was told today that 'as needed' is not available in SAP.   We have many many BOM's with 0.01 or some such real number.  However it seems that Windchill is insisting that EA be a whole number.  The situation we have is what we have, but going forward I wondered if we could action the Reference Designator field in some way? Hi,I currently am trying to add an action on a certain soft-type of WTDocument to allow starting a workflow with this object as PBO.I'm able to add the action in the UI "pointing" to a jsp and after some study, determined that using the OOTB "start-worflow" webject is the best thing to do (but if you have another solution, I'm always interested).But how to get and pass the parameter needed by this webject in a jsp ? (meaning : I don't even have a clue on how to do it). Indeed, My action will be added directly in the list of choices (with check-out, check-in, download, setstate, etc... actions).I'm not a professionnal programmer and still learning but any help will be appreciated.Edit : I didn't told that I were on ProjectLink 9.1M050. Hi,   We just installed Windchill 11.0 M030 together with PSM 6.0. PSM collects data from all agents except WindchillDS, it seems. The error shown in PSM Client is "ptc.wt.WindchillDS@<ds_host_name>:<port>: Instrumentation disabled since the agent was not mapped into an agent group". Following are already tried, but still error persist. Made sure agent name in <ds_path>\server\java.properties in Windchill server and agent name in "Windchill DS" agent group are same. Restarted whole dynaTrace servies. Error persist. Tried giving the host name manually in agent mapping under "Windchill DS" agent group. Restarted whole dynaTrace services. Error persist. Please help here.   Thank you
