Why are Business Rules considered better than the workflow helper. It is quite easier to add the validation directly in workflow helper but still the Business Rules are considered as the standard one.

In MPMLink module - When we add another resource (e.g. Skill - Assembler) to the Plant system automatically put his visual representation in random place. When I want to update its position to right location going to Plant object -> Structure -> Update Position -> setting another values, it does not move the object by these coordinates, but copies it to other location. (in tree there is no visible another object but it remains on visualisation tab). -> Windchill 13.0.2.0

In another case we would like to have the unit of the 'raw material' and it's unit in the BOM, so for a certain profile or tube we would like to have the length in meters instead of just each.Description: How to handle non positive/whole-integer quantities in combination with Creo Parametric or other CAD application? What's the best practice? Every component of an assembly coming from CAD has each as unit. Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: Currently, I am able to create a promotion request in windchill without selecting any members from the participant list. I want to add up a condition in the promotion creation page, when a user miss to select the required participant from the member list it pops up an error stating that the required members are not added, and the promotion request cannot be created without them.Description: When the promotion is created with this issue, the workflow gets stalled when the task is to be created for those missing participant and it cannot be recovered back. User needs to create a new promotion request to proceed further with. I want to implement a way in promotion request creation where user is notified or there is some pop-up error/validation that checks when the user fails to add the appropriate users in the member list. Is there a way we can add this validation or customization to our windchill? 

Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: As a developer I need to figure out which versions of 3rd-party libs are being used in different versions of WindchillDescription: It used to be that you could download the Software Matrix for Windchill and in that document read about the software components bundled with Windchill. You could for instance see which version of commons-codec that was included. For version 13 this no longer sees to be the case.Does anyone know if this is still possible? We don't want to include all the possible people in the group that will automatically get the Analyze Problem Report task because it would clutter the task lists of non-relevant people.Description: We would like to be able to select the assignee/assignees for the Analyze Problem Report task in the Problem Report creation process case by case. At the moment the Analyze task is automatically pointed to all the people who are defined in the workflow as the Assignee in the Participants.Is there some way to make the Problem Report creation dialog work similarly as the Change Task creation dialog, where you can select the assignees and reviewers with the user search tool (or better yet, from a participant list table)?

I know that publishing is something that can be leverage for this, but I wanted to understand the concepts first.Can ESI Services be used for such a use-case?. (I have used ESI DTs to send XML data to other systems, not for any file transfer)If a user says CAD files, what could they mean?.Do I generate the representations first and then send it to another system or as part of generating reps, can I send the files?. Any pointers are appreciated.  Much Thanks

Hello, we are looking to retire Windchill 10.1 and export all Solidworks data to an external disk.  Would you know if there is such a script in existence and/or can someone be willing to share their script to export similar to what D_Graham stated..."simply by copying the files from the Windchill vault into a Windows folder that mirrors the Windchill folder structure.
