Analysis

All,In NASTRAN/Femap, there is an option to report stresses per the element average, instead of the corner/edge values.  Is there a similar way to do this in Creo Simulate?I regularly run into singularities near constraint edges, and one of our Senior Stress Analysts recommended using this approach. Has anybody done this?Haven't been able to find an answer online so far, or after clicking though all of the options in the Results window.thanks,Erik(FYI, running Creo 3.0)

I have set up an analysis with three parts in it.  They are connected to each other with a combination of contact and bonded interfaces.  I created 6 g-load cases of varying magnitude and direction.  However the stress results are all identical.  What could I have done wrong?  I verified I chose the correct load case for each run.  They are non-linear because Simulate ignores contact interfaces in linear runs, and they are all separate runs because it won't run more than one g-load at a time in non-linear cases.

I am working on a simulation of a pressure vessel.Here are some pictures:All components:Stripped down with supports:I am getting errors during the run. It says that the Model is Insufficiently Constrained. I dont understand how this could be. The default connection setting is set to bonded, there are ignored contact interfaces which are treated as "Free". These are located between the end caps and the central cylinder.Any Ideas?

Hi,In old versions of Pro/E Wildfire, there was an help function that can open help pages on a specific function of Pro/E.Cursor was an arrow with a little interrogation point.It was named something like "what is this" (?) in help menu.Is this still exist in Creo 2/3 ?I would like to find quickly the help page corresponding to a particular function.Thanks,Dominique

I need to simulate a manufacturing process and I need to have non linear stress strain and thermal expansion material properties that are temperature dependent. The material changes state at a high temperature and when it cools down because the thermal expansion coefficients are different in the materials as a function of temperature stress/strains are built into these materials as they cool down which I will simulate with a different regions in the material.

Can someone just confirm or deny my finding that you can't re-use a computed measure (Mechanica, sorry, Creo Simulate) in another computed measure?  'Simple' measures show up as available components, but not previous computed measures...Assuming you can't, is there a line continuation character to allow complicated expressions to be split over several lines (or does it just work anyway, as it does in Excel)?Thanks!

I need to apply a load on a line (force per unit length) which should locally depend on the displacement of the line in a given direction; as for an elastic foundation.Is there any way to realize this kind of mixed boundary condition along lines?

Dear Creo users,I am able to create mechanism in creo and run it with the help of servo motor. I generally use pin, slider, cylinder and slot connections while create mechanism. Recently, I have tried planar, bearing and ball connection but failed to connect parts. There are not much tutorial videos or may be one or two about planar, bearing and ball connection and how to apply them. I was wondering if anyone had any pointers on how to begin a simple vibration analysis in PTC Simulate 3.0.What I've done so far:Modelled: A plate, attached to a mass using 4 bolts (in red) as shown in the simple diagram below.Applied Loads: Applied 1g (where g is gravity) loads in X, Y, and Z directionsPreformed a Modal AnalysisWhat I would like to do:I would now like to apply vibration loads in X, Y and Z directions to the model. I would then like to view the stresses and deformation in the plate as a result of these vibrations. How do I do this.Baby steps would be much appreciated.

Creo 2, M230I have two components in this assy that I want on the BOM but not to show in the 3D assy. So, I've used the "include" function which adds the part to the assy without actually assembling it.When I create my BOM in the drawing, I'd like a way to distinguish them because they will not be shown on the exploded view.  Ideally they'd be at the end of the BOM as well.I'm thinking some kind of relations that finds "included" components and makes their index "NS" (Not Shown) or something like that. I am trying to create a pattern using coordinates. I have the corridates in EXCEL. I cannot PASTE the data into a Pattern table. I am using WF4. I see that the TABLE has a function to READ from a file, but that is a PBT.FILE from PRO-E. Would anyone know how I can enter data from EXCEL. It is too much data to type. Thanks your feedback!

Hello PTC user, the search function (STRG+F) in PTC Creo or ProEngineer is mine and certainly well known to you. Basically, I get clear with it and find also my things which I have to look for.However, I am currently trying to define predefined searches, which I would then save as a rule. As a rule in layer management, to define a layer master.To properly include and exclude the various KE's, surfaces, references, cosmetics, notes, etc., the associated rule must also be properly defined and excluded. Otherwise, any of the elements not belonging to the layer will be added to the layer. And right here is my problem. Because somehow the settings of the search do not really open up to me. In particular, I mean the "Look for" and "Look by" drop-down boxes. Can someone explain these fields to someone more precisely, because even the PTC Consultant who was in our house, could not explain to our satisfaction. In this context, I also wonder why a logical rule for Creo is wrong or can not be gen

While trying to run a static analysis, an error prompt pooped up soon after I hit start. I have run multiple static analysis runs on models for the past 3 months, I am not sure why this has just recently started occurring.Please helpthank you

I get this warning message any time I'm working with weldments larger than 2 parts: "the angle between the normal to the shell and the normal to the solid face at a shell-solid link must be greater than 45 degrees.  The link(s) will be ignored".  Can anyone tell me what Simulate is doing?  The diagnostic tool highlights elements around these connections but as far as I can tell connectivity is maintained.

Hello,I use Creo 2.0.I have dome some internet research and I haven't been able to find how to convert a Real Number-type parameter (like 40.000) into an Integer-type (40) with relations. This is needed for downstream simulation purposes.I tried the abs(), floor() and ceil() functions. They round to the correct value, but the type is still a real number.I have tried this instruction as well: Creo String to Integer or Real Number RelationSo what I do is a double conversion: to first convert from Real to string using the itos() function, and then from string to Integer using the above... but what happens is that to output to an Integer, you must first manually create the output parameter before adding the relation (otherwise it defaults to real number), and only works on a known length string. Hello:I am working hydraulic pumps' dynamic mechanical simulation by your mechanism module. it is very good and successful to built dynamic mechanical model by your module. but it can not impose the hydraulc flow force on the model and could not get a useful dynamic simulation result. If we only impose some ideal force or function force, it have not any actual value, the simulation goal is for simulating the actual situation, right? AMEsim is a good hydraulic simulation software and can calculate a detailed force result, if Creo have co-simulation interface, I can add hydraulic flow force to the mechanism and can get a useful result. by the way, ADMAS have this interface.This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team.
