Dear ladies and gentlemen, We have 2 Mathcad licenses, but I can't find the product code for them right now. If you need any more information from me in this regard, please let me know. We currently have the situation that we have 2 licenses and had to change the MAC addresses for them and reinstall them at the same time. Now we are faced with the issue that Mathcad 15 can no longer be licensed with the current licenses because Mathcad is too old. So my question to you is, do you still see a possibility of getting Mathcad licensed despite a new installation, or are the licenses no longer usable for us in combination with Mathcad? Thank you very much for your effort. R. Dear all, Currently I do make BOM by using a templated table in 2D environment. The quantity parameter is working just fine because this method counts how many parts of each do exist in the assembly. However I also need the quantity in my individual part drawings and my struggle comes from this need. To tackle this issue I tryed to use the EMX BOM but is not suitable since I need to change a lot of parameters manually and everytime I update the BOM, most of them change automatically to the original ones. However the filling of the individual quantity parameter works just fine. My question is: Is there a possiblity to create a button to fill and update the individual part quantity parameter, only, in order to appear in the individual part 2D drawing? Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone, Please help me adding the full file path name in drawing print out. Is it a printer setting or creo config's setting? Let me know please.
Hello,I am using Creo 7.0.9.0 and have a question about adding notes to a drawing. I am creating GD&T feature control frames by manually typing it into a note so I can put it on an angle, as seen below. (This was a drawing I made a while back). Now, I am trying to re-create this same thing on a new drawing, but the feature control frame is hovering above the leader line, as seen below I have tried to copy and paste from the old drawing to the new drawing and it still causes the 'hovering' look. I've gone through drawing properties to see if any config settings would be applicable but nothing is standing out. It appears as if something in our drawing template has changed but I'm not sure what. Would anyone be able to help me out so that there is no gap between the leader line and feature control frame?
Creo 7.0 I've been working in an assembly for a week. Just today when I add anymore cad geometry to it I get a "frozen" symbol. If I fully mate the part down it appears correct until I hit ok. Then it jumps to another location and in my model tree I get the pause or "frozen" symbol. I can delete/re-add mates, or try reinserting the parts, but I get the same result. Not sure what's going on. Maybe I accidentally triggered an option somewhere? Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you!
I wanted to create an animation of my robotic hand. The first step is to save the mechanism playback file so I can import into the animation menu. My problem is to I don't know how to create a reciprocating motion, where the robotic finger begins in a straight position, bends, and then returns to its original straight position. I need to know how to reverse the motion for my robotic hand in mechanism playback. I can only make the motion from the straight position and bend without returning to the initial straight position (reciprocating). My idea is to make a separate servo motor and analysis for bending motion and make another one for back straight motion so I can import this 2 mechanisms playback to my animation so it will looks like "reciprocating motion".. However, I am not sure if this will work and believe it to be complicated. Is there a more efficient way to produce reverse/reciprocating results?
Anyone can tell how do we change the font size of the creo UI. I mean the overall size in ribbons, model tree and all?
Hi guys, I have a released assembly drawing with 8 child level items(refer attachment). I want to revise this assembly to remove item 6 and add a new part item 9. Now when revising an assembly we usually make the required changes directly in assembly model and then go to drawing at a later stage. By then the BOM auto updates and newly added item takes number item 6 even after fixing index. I have below questions regarding it 1. Is it possible to skip item no. 6 in BOM table during the above process and how? 2. Is it possible to make changes in BOM table before releasing a drawing so when we change anything in assembly later on it should not affect our released drawing bom and its sequence? 3. Is it possible to strikeout item 6 in BOM when it is removed from the assembly or something similar so that when a user reads the next revision drawing he is able to understand the changes done? 4. Any advice on BOM revision best practices for Creo 4.0 &n
I am using Creo 9.0 version ,I need to apply the Insulation on the pipe and fitting, however after applying insulation through insulation feature it only considers the pipe segment and do not consider fitting, In order to create the insulation on fitting i need to do it manually which is ok for small assembly but in cases where plant is design here it becomes difficult to user to each insulation manually There must be provision to where insulation feature also considers the fitting involve,
Hi, how do you define the tool for the lathe.I didn't get it from the instructionsI tried to create a Solid tool and I added CSYS TIP and CREO doesn't want to create paths even though I increased BACK_CLEAR_ANGLE. Could someone send me an example of how you define this? Thanks in advance
I am cleaning up a model. Running Creo 7. There are Creo "Simulation Studies" showing up in the model tree. I went into the Creo Simulation app, and blew away all of the simulation elements. However, when i exit the app and go back to the model tab, the simulation studies still show up in the model tree... When I right click to delete them, nothing happens. Same when I highlight them and hit the delete button.
Hi, all. A client opened an assembly from disk in Automatic Rep, then saved it into Windchill, which resulted in a bunch of ghost parts. Lesson leaned: Don't do that. He says he likes Automatic Rep but he's afraid to use it in case there are other problems like this. He asked me if there are other things to look out for, and I couldn't think of any, as my experience with Automatic Rep is limited. He also said he didn't trust PTC documentation, "since that just says it's great". So I thought I'd ask here about your experiences with working with the Automatic Rep. Do you use it? How do you use it? Are there things to watch out for? My limited experience has been that it makes models quicker to open but slow to work with (since new data must be loaded as you are working). What are your experiences?
Hi,I have an assembly where the Creo Parametric Cabling wires are no longer showing the correct thickness that's specified in the spools that are assigned to the harness. I have made sure that the thick cables option turned on for display setting and not center lines. As I open the assembly in Creo it initially looks like this (should be black as last saved and stay this large size)Then when the assembly finishes opening in Creo it looks like this with thicken display onThis is what it looks like when center line display setting turned onThe diameter of the insulation in the spool table set to 0.201 inches diameter and its showing up in the assembly like 0.01" diameter. Any ideas on how to get the wires to show proper size from the spool tables for the harness? Thanks for any help you may provide,Don ACreo Parametric 8.0.5.0
Dear Creo Users,This is the list of problems or queries I have faced while using PTC Creo. Is there any updates on these topics in creo 3.0 and 4.0?Can anyone request PTC Developers to update PTC creo regarding this issue?1) Pattern option ( at least Linear and Circular pattern) can be incorporated in Creo Sketch2) Creo Sheetmetal Unbend option can be updated when unbending some complex blend, sweep or sweep blend options are used to make complicated hopper like parts in creo sheetmetal.3) Creo sketch palette can be updated by incorporating some new mechanical related profiles.(Its true we can create our own sketch but it will be helpful if some complex mechanical profiles are incorporated in sketch palette)4) Some tutorials in Learning Exchange and creo help can be updated regarding creo mechanism constraints like how to use ball, planar, general , bearing mechanism connection.5) More materials can be incorporated in ptc creo materials so that it can be easy to filnd weight and densit
Hello, I would like you to help me with the following question, I have already reviewed the blog and the PTC community, however I cannot find a solution. I am trying to convert this dimension into an inspection dimension. Likewise, I have to use the properties of this dimension, I right clicked and this appears, only this option, (see picture) I'm using 7.10.0.I have seen on another blog that it is necessary to unlock it but I do not have that option, if someone can help me it would be of great. It toke a lot of my time.
I'd like to make a slot for a dovetail-joint, where the slot narrows . How do I do this kind of extrude in a rectangular block? Added a quick hand drawn sketch for reference. 🙂
Hi,Trying to show text from 3 parameters that are included in a part family table in a single cell that's part of a simple repeat region in a table on a family table part file drawing. How does reference a family table instance part parameter in a simple repeat region relation?I have found examples of referencing assembly members but not part file instances. Example of what I want the address cell to look likeHow table currently looksExample of repeat region relations not workingAppreciate any help you may provide,Don A.Creo 8 sample files attached
Is there a way to only regenerate the entire family table with my command? I'm modifying a part with family table, and each modification causes the entire family table to be regenerated.
Hello, Can anyone guide me to a tutorial about the ECAD setup for Creo.I am looking around in the CREO help section but that is far from clear and complete.I want to do some ecad setup things in creo4.0 environment but I get stuck.First off all the ptc help tutorial mention start a new assembly -> select the ECAD sub-typeHere I already run into the first issue the ECAD syb type is greyed out so not selectable. I already understood that there are some ecad assembly start parts and ecad start parts that I should fine tune with a set of parameters. So that is clear. But then the default template contains only 2 default parameters. So not much of an example. So a little guidance /tutorial would be welcome to clear out some questions like:How does creo knows a assembly is a ECAD assembly? The same question for the ecad partHoe do the parameters get translated into the IDF3.0 file?....
We are upgrading to Creo 10.0.X and looking to adopt the 2018 standard, does the GD&T product support this version? If so where can I find that information. Thanks.
This month’s challenge is based on 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to lighten a part model by replacing a solid section with 3D beams or 2.5D lattices. If you have the Additive Manufacturing module, you can use the Lattice feature. If you do not have it, how do you model beams with standard Creo features? What combination of Extrudes, Patterns, or other features would you choose? You can create 2.5D lattices or 3D beams of your choice. You can create triangles, squares, hexagons, or octagons (or more). If you make 3D beams, you can add balls at the intersections of the beams if you want to. If you have the Additive Manufacturing module, you can make formula-based or custom lattices. Express your artistic side. You can use a model of your choice, or you can use either or both of the Creo 4.0 provided models. One has a rectangular section that can be replaced; the other has a cylindrical section. You can create the beams
I need to calculate the bearing capacity of the soil for pile foundation/ How to make MathCAD choose the minimum value always when it goes through a set of values. and there is not a certain minimum value, but it has to choose from the listed until a smaller number appear?
Hi, I am looking to solve for F2 in the below image, Can anyone help on how to get this working in MathCad please?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.9.0Hello,I want to create a custom balloon with two parameters (&asm.mbr.cparam....). I defined a new symbol and defined these parameters in the variable Text. When I want to display the icon as a custom balloon, I only see the parameters and not the value of the parameter. Can component parameters be displayed in BOM balloons?I also tried with an assembly parameter, but that value doesn't appear in the balloon either. Do I need to pay attention to the custom balloon so that I can evaluate parameters in the balloon?
Just wondering if anyone has added Clinch Studs, Nuts and Standoffs into the IFX Library in Creo Parametric.I like the IFX feature, and use it for Screws, but it would be handy to have Sheetmetal fixings.Tried doing it myself, but not really my strong suit.
