Hi all,I'm trying to make a custom note for the MBD annotation of a tapped hole pattern. The note contains the following text4X &SCREW_SIZE:FID_374 &THREAD_SERIES:FID_374 - &CLASS:FID_374 &Thread_Length:FID_374where FID_374 is indicating the hole with feature id 374.It is my intention to replace 4X with something like &HOLE_INSTANCE_COUNT.My problem is that the parameters THREAD_LENGTH and THREAD_DEPTH no longer seem to be available in PTC Creo 9.0.3.0 (although they are mentioned in the manuals). The hole pattern feature has apparently no parameters. So how do I access the parameter &HOLE_INSTANCE_COUNT?If I take a look at the original note&METRIC_SIZE &THREAD_SERIES - &THREAD_CLASS &STD_HOLE_TYPE &VAR&_THREAD &THREAD_DEPTH&NUMBER_SIZE DRILL ( &DIAMETER ) &VAR_DEPTH &DRILL_DEPTH &HOLE_INSTANCE_SPACE&HOLE_INSTANCE_HYPHEN_SYMBOL&HOLE_INSTANCE_LEFT_BRACKET&HOLE_INSTANCE_SPACE&HOLE_INSTANCE_COUNT&HOL
I have about ten years of experience from Solidworks. I started to used Creo Parametric about two weeks ago. Our company will buy own licence next January. I have the question for Creo and how I'm used to doing things in Solidworks. I think we dont need Wildchill because all Creo files is for customers. Our customers moves the files to own Wildchill. I think we start to use files from the hard disk or cloudy space (Sharepoint or Google Drive). Is there a possibilty to create document numbers without checking next number from Excel? We have the add on for Solidworks which gives a next document number by automatic without checking from Excel.
Hello, EDIT:I understand that in the first case I take for i a column matrix: And in the second case I take: How to loop the n column matrix in t?
Hiii Good Morning all, I have just started to learn Creo, I have installed Creo 10, while revolving i am getting issue, instead of round it is coming hex revolving, please help me to resolve the issue
Stupid question...I'm just getting back into MathCAD (Prime 7.0) after several years absence...I'm trying to see if create a simple routine that will automatically strip the units from a variable and display only the numeric portion...so I can turn it into a string and use it in text functions. Essentially what I have right now...The routine divides out the SIUnitsOf(variable) and multiplies that by a conversion factor that it sequentially looks up in a matrix. And it divides the variable by the conversion factor's base unit (from the same matrix). When I type out the procedure for an individual case, it gives the expected answer. When I try to put that procedure into a "for" loop, it gives me an unexpected "These units are not compatible" error....can anyone see what am I doing wrong?
Hi All, I have been given the task of trying to make this MathCAD program work in Prime. It works perfectly well in MC15 but throws up unit errors in Prime. I was guessing that it had something to do with the unit which is Newtons, which I added in, but it still doesn't work. Any advise on where this is going wrong?
Hallo are there any news on it ? Reference link Proxy error still appears after new installation on any machine manual activation for 72 hours not possible as the generated key is not valid what a paine, no chance to access my data anymore at all !!! looking forward for any good news BENNO
Hi.I am using Creo Panametric 8.0. I am new to this programme, but for whatever reason I can't figure out why my removing material when extruding doesn't work. I have looked at other forums but nothing seemed to work. This includes changing the type from solid to surface, as well as making the extrusion into different shapes: some shapes seem to work, some do not.I have made an extrusion out of ellipse and line tool and want to cut that extrusion out of my current cuboid.I have the "remove material" selected and it goes through the cuboid but it doesn't remove any material. Thanks
(currently using the PTCU virtual desktop version of Creo parametric) When I'm creating sketch elements, such as lines, circles, etc., is there a shortcut to immediately enter in the values as I'm drawing them? Such as, a shortcut that brings up the type-in dialogue immediately after placing the element?Right now, it seems like the fastest way is to create the element, then press escape (if drawing a line), then close out the tool using the middle mouse button, then find and click on the little dialogue for the dimension (hoping it isn't overlapping something), THEN finally type in the dimension. This seems very cumbersome and slow, so I wondered if there's a more streamlined process I'm not aware of.
why when I start Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 8.0 in Italian, the window to activate the SW that was activated at installation appears? Why does it have to be activated each time with the temporary use key for 72 hours? Why is the Italian version of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 8.0 no longer available for download, only the English version exists?
Hello,I stumbled onto a feature in CREO 8. In our organization we used what are called 'bug notes' which are used to denote a hard requirement or process. there are also regular text notes. I have used the contextual code of &sym(bug) and then entered the number when prompted. To some success almost all of them updated. Even when I inserted a bug note. What I did was enter in the code then when asked for the number. This reorders all ny bug notes perfectly except for wen they are broken by a normal non-context note.Is there a code of some sort that allows Creo to count the regular note that are in-between bug note groups that allows for proper renumbering? Bug #24 is the one I inserted and as you can see, they all renumbered correctly until they reached Note 30. They did however continue numbering, it just that the normal note was not part of the count and the sequence continued as if it was not there.
I work with Creo 8.0.8.0I have a model with annotations in the model. There is a z-extension line that moves with the end of the normal extension line. But when I move the normal extension line to the other side of the annotation, the z-extension line doesn't go beyond the annotation.Am I doing it wrong or is this a bug?
Hi Bill, Reference topic - https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Beam-bending-using-finite-differences/m-p/884208#M207256I was just wondering why I tend to get failures if I run this multiple times within the same MathCAD sheet (i.e. cut and paste it several times). Usually I can get away with running two different runs (usually x and y) but if I'm looking at multiple items, despite clearing what I think are the important variables, it always throws up an odd error? Do you know if there is a reason this would happen and good places to trouble shoot when it does?
I usually need to export dxf files. I would have a multisheet drawing file, and I would need to make a separate dxf from each sheet. Is there anyway I can do it automatically? Any script or anything else? I want to export multiple dxf files with one click. Also can I export dxf without border line? I just need drawing view not borders. Is there anyway to stop borders being drawn in export dxf file?
Hello, This is a difficulty I have had with Creo for a long time, I always resort to adding a manual note to look as I want but I was wondering whether what I am trying is actually possible. I have a detail view but wish to have different layer settings for that particular view (compared to its parent) so changed the detail view type to 'General'. By making this a general view, the view label now defaults to the section view (&xsec_name). The detail view retains its name (C) but when I change the view label to say (&view_name), it just returns to the default &xsec_name. Simple question is; is it possible to create manual notes that are associated with specific views that will pull the relevant information from the view by adding the relevant &_x_ information? N.B. I am running Creo Parametric version 8.0.7.0
Hello, I am having trouble finding the material ID for use in a note. I have created a new parameter in my material called "SPEC" that I'd like to use in my note. But I cannot find where to get the MTRL_ID Thanks for any assistance.
Hopefully one of you can help me here. I need to make some custom toolkit buttons in Creo Parametric 8 but the PTC examples don't work and the documentation seems conflicting and is very unclear about how to start. I have created an async program in VB before, also with Creo Parametric 8, but this was a sort of background worker without UI involved. This program was pretty straightforward using the documentation. Linking VB.net to the Creo UI seems impossible at this point. Has anyone succeeded? Do you have a 'helloworld' example where the application is linked to Creo and a working custom button is added?
See image below. I tried giving K_t units of "inches" but that doesn't work.
I am trying to run the code but at this sectionI get this error. Why?
Hello guys, I have a small issue every time I run dynamic analysis in Creo Parametric. If I click the dynamic option, it always says "mechanism dynamics is required for this analysis type meaning". Do you guys know how to fix this or maybe there was a wrong joint or connection with the setting so the I couldn't run dynamic analysis. However, there's no problem with kinematic analysis.
I've searched as best as I can to find any reference concerning controlling the units as they are passed from an embedded Mathcad Prime 9 file to Creo (9.0.4.0). I'm aware of the "locked-down" default unit system sets available to us in Prime - please PTC fix this and add the functionality like we had in v15 to establish our own default unit set!!! The issue stems from our Creo part model having units set to "mm", and Prime insisting, of course, to only pass results back to Creo in "m" (or in "cm" or "in" if selected as the default). Is there any "trick" to force Mathcad Prime to pass result units back to Creo in "mm"? BTW, I know we can strip the units and simply send back a numeric value by dividing the result in Prime by "mm". The challenge there is if somebody wants to switch unit systems in Creo, the process will return incorrect values from Mathcad. In the meantime, I'll post an enhancement request in that section of the Mathcad forum to add custom default unit systems. Thank
Hello!I have a problem with my drawings. So I have an assembly and a drawing. There are two sheets in the drawing - the first is in A1 format, the second is in A3 format. On the first sheet outside the drawing field there is a specification table and positions are placed based on its repeat region. The problem is that the ballons break, overlap each other, etc.For example:1). Being on the second sheet, I click “update sheets”. After that, I go to the first sheet and see that almost all the ballons have fallen apart. Like that:Ok, then I click “update sheets” on the first sheet and everything falls into place as it shouldBUT! When I switch to the second sheet, the positions break again, only now on the second sheet. It's a vicious circle... The interesting thing is that if I make the same format on the sheets, then everything is fine. But I need different formats! So far the problem is solved by redrawing the drawing, but this is not normal Creo 5.0.4.0.
Hello, On page 7 of the attached sheet, there is a solver that existed in the sheet i created in mathcad 15. When i converted it to Prime 9, it removed the syntax "Given" and it aslo states undefined variables. I dont know how to fix it. Thanks,Sam

PA 2200 is very common material in AM and is not not in the Creo material list.I created the PA2200 material using the EOS data sheet. https://store.eos.info/products/pa-2200-polyamide-12 I've attached the file, and I hope you find it useful.
