I recently had my computer refurbished and am goin g through reloading my software. Mathcad 14 is not cooperating. I reinstalled, provided the code that came with the CD and uninstalled the license from the previous computer and redownloaded the new license file. The new license file has the correct HOST ID, but mathcad tells me that it isn't correct and redirects me to select a new file. ? COuld it be that the license fiel doesn't include Mathcad? can't understand why? Pleas

Hello, When I open a native Creo 2D assembly drawing with a number of pages, not all the views/images per page show? I am left with only text, tables and the product views are missing.Is it because the assembly is to complex?I am using Creo View 10 & Creo parametric 9.0.4.0Thanks in advance.

This month’s challenge is based on civil engineering:     Images created with Creo Parametric, Advanced Framework Extension, and Creo Simulation Live.   Scenario: You have a standard 300mm steel I-beam with a length of 12 meters. It is simply supported at one end and at 8 meters from that end. There is a load of 5000 Newtons in the middle and 10000 Newtons at the unsupported end. Calculate the cross-sectional area of the I-beam. Calculate the cross-sectional moment of inertia about the midpoint of the beam. (You may choose to ignore the contribution of the fillets. If you want the additional challenge, you may include them.) Use the Chart Component to display shear and bending moment diagrams. Hello, My problem is, we have old models (Made in Creo 2.0 or Creo 4.0) but now we moved to Creo 9.0.4.0 and we moved on to new company standards, which means a lot of new parameter, and relations.But with old models comes a problem, which is, we often can't delete parameters or make new ones which are restricted.(view in My Videos) The problem most likely comes from the old model having a different restriction table than the new one.I think the easiest way would be to make a macro to move all the features to a new template somehow but it comes with a different set of problems. Is there anyone who figured out a good way to pass this problem?

Does anyone know of a way to automatically show the Creo version (3, 4, 5, 6, 7,...) as a parameter?We implemented the values in param values list, but that is a manual step for the users to change when we go to a new version. We also have it set in our start parts as well as our Windchill templates, but that is a change we will have to do every time we go to a new version. We are trying to be in compliance to ASME Y14.47 and  14.41 

I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM140Model Check date format issueHere are the errors that I facedIt is required to modify date format of Model Check option in Creo 4.0. User is unable to modify date format from ex. Tue Mar 20 2022 to ex. 20-03-2022. Please suggest options to update/modify date format of Model Check in Creo Parametric 4.0.

Within our company we have many smaller subdivisions that utilize Creo however they all have different config settings.  We run a customized start tool that depending on users selection loads the appropriate config settings for that OpCo.  Once in a Creo session there is no quick and easy way to see what OpCo the session was loaded with other than going to the config files in session and looking at a comment line or the Co. name.  This is time consuming for the support team and the user that could be working in various OpCo's.  Would it be possible to have a config setting that was a one line txt field which would be displayed in the top banner either just below or next to "PTC Creo Parametric"? 

Mathcad Prime 9 Hello Mathcad experts, I want to create a spill area as a function of time for transient evaporation calculations.  I currently use a formula developed by Dow Chemicals from the late 70's to calculate in the radius of a spill for a given time with an assumed rate and volume.  This formula is iterative.  See Yellow highlighted for manual manipulation.  I am currently manually changing the time intervals and entering the resulting radius and time into a matrix and then curve fitting to make an area function.  Once the volume has been spilled, I assume the area no longer grows.  This seems possible to automate with programming.  I'm a novice programmer and have been working diligently without much success.  I mostly am having trouble with the iterative formula. See attached Prime 9 excerpt of my calculations. Help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Colin  

Creo 4.0 080   Greetings all,   I have a section that I can place and change the angle, but "spacing" is greyed out. I looked up some stuff that people had issues with cross sections and it had something to do with view being set to no hidden. That does not solve my problem. This has got to be something dumb.   Help?   Wayne

Hello Community, I just wanted to learn more about the creo cabling process and its steps and found a video (Creo Parametric - Cabling Overview - Manual Process) from @DaveMartin on youtube. I tried to maintain its steps but when I try to implement a skeleton model from my sub assembly this option is greyed out (see attachment). Maybe he did something I didnt and thats the reason...I dont have this "placement" in my sub assembly but I dont think that this is the reason...I read that this may have to do with the software package and its function properties. I quite sure I dont use the full software package with all its functions. I use PTC Creo 9.0.4.0.  Can you help me out - is it because of the package or do I have to stay by another step before (preparation) ?

Hi All i want to mark an area in my sheet metal plate, were painting is forbidden. how can i do that without using cut out (extrude) function within the sheet metal design?in the picture, you can see an already marked are, unfortunately, this are solid models and have therefore no feature tree anymore to check.i want to do the second area on the counter part of this.   

Hello,I'm working on my first mechanism and I'm facing some issues.I set up all the servomotors and set a sequence for a position analysis, but all the motors move together in a while.So, I wanted to set a velocity profile but when I start the analysis I get errors and cannot perform it.I checked some videos and I guess I have to define the dynamic properties, but in the slider connection /translation the box isn't visible.I'm using Creo 9.0.5.Thanks,Giovanni   

Hi, We are trying to create viewables from our MathCAD files and to save them to Windchill, where other users (who don't have MathCAD installed) can check the files and optionally comment on them. From the documentation we can find that it should work as follows:Create MathCAD and checkin to WindchillClient side viewable is automatically created (Mathcad Checkin) by setting "Models and Viewables" in wgmclient.iniHowever, the viewable is saved as Viewable.PVZ and included as attachment to the MathCAD sheet. Attachment can only be downloaded and not opened.Also the PVZ file can not be opened using Creo View and thus not be annotated and saved back to Windchill.Below the error message when opening the downloaded PVZ. This is because the PVZ only holds a pdf and no structure.Is there a configuration step that we're missing or does it work as designed? Is there a way to save the viewable as PVS (which can be opened by Creo View) Only workable solution now:export MathCAD to PD

Hello everybody, I am creating a design of wiring harness in schematics and I would like to do a flat harness drawing in creo cabling afterwards. Is there a way how to display in flat drawing version of XML file which was used for creation of 3D harness? Eg. if I export file from schematics named XMLdesign012023.xml and then import it into creo cabeling. Can I automatically in creo flat harness drawing display something which says Design based on: XMLdesign012023.xml I can write it manually, but we are more people working on the harnesses so there is a change that someone will forget and than we are not able to know what was the source and if the design from schematics is reflected in drawing or not I normally use repeat region feature to view cabling parameters at drawing, could it be done in similar way? Or maybe via parameters? Thanks everyone for answers 

Hello, I've been working with it for a long time and now I'm annoyed by creating measures for each ground spring. This is our technique of creating boundary conditions using spring to ground and we need to create a set of measures for each one of them( X Y Z reactions and amplitude of force ). Is there any possibility to automatically create any set of measures for springs? I know that all contact interfaces does this but not springs.Thanks in advance.

I am trying to find the angle from the equation pasted below. In Matlab, I got the angle and it is about 104 degrees but I cant solve it in Mathcad.  I have attached the Mathcad 9 sheet.Best,Waqas     

Please see the image.  It is a side view of a part, with the sketch of the proposed bend. I need to bend just the end (above the sketch) so it follows the sketch (which I can do easily with a spinal bend), BUT I need to control the orientation so things that are vertical (as in this view) remain vertical when complete.Geometry with the sketch to form. Normally, with a Spinal Bend, the geometry follows the curve and makes the geometry "wrap" with the curve, meaning things that started vertical will be perpendicular to the spine (sketch shown above).  I want the vertical things to stay vertical, but the shape to "droop" to follow the curve. I don't remember for sure, but it seems like there used to be projection controls with a spinal bend to do this.  (Not AREA controls.)  I feel like I've done it in the past. This part geometry is complex enough that I can't really create it in the correct shape.  The part is quite deep (into the screen from the

Hi all,I am trying to open a .sldprt and everytime I open it, my creo just freezes.I have tried multiple different .sldprt's and all of them cause this issue.Is there anything I can do to get these to open?I never had this issue in Creo4.0 I am currently using Creo8.0  

Hello,I am trying to recreate this model from solidworks model mania 2005. (https://blogs.solidworks.com/tech/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/Model-Mania-2005-Phase-1.jpg)I am having some trouble recreating the lower part that is the blend from the oval section to the circular section without having lines.As can be seen in the drawing there seems to be no indication of where the circle section should be divided to create the blend (and no such lines appear in the solidwork model), I merely drew a centerline connecting the separation lines for the oval section and used that to divided my circle. Is there an error in my approach or is this a case in which solidworks and creo functionality differs? Here is a link to their solution video (timestamped) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKgWcBTxD5I&t=8m49s I am using creo parametric 9.0 student edition. 

Hello, My colleague is using Mathcad Prime 7. He was trying to convert a Mathcad 15 file using the convertor. For few files, he is getting the conversion status as Failed. When we check the log, we can see the below error message.
