Hello everyone and welcome to blog post #20 in this multibody blog series. Today’s blog is about illustrating a use case around geometry re-use that became enabled with the new appearance (and reference) propagations in Creo 10.0’s Body Boolean and Split Body features. (see Multibody: Appearance and Reference Propagation for Boolean Operations (ptc.com) ) In essence we added two new options to Body Booleans as shown in the image below. Those options allow you to control color propagation and reference propagation. That means for the below example, that when you subtract the orange and white bodies from the green eyelet part, we can propagate the color to the corresponding mating cut faces, and transfer references from the original to the new surfaces, so that for the attached annotations automatically move to the cut surfaces. So, what is this good for? An example use case for this might be a scenario where you have standardized cut-out
Installer for FlexNet License Manager can be downloaded from url - Refer Page # 2 FlexNet Installer is required to host license server for PTC Floating Licenses Additional Information: What is a FlexNet License Server? The FlexNet License Server refers to the license server program to which most PTC client software connects to request licenses for access to the software. The FlexNet server administers the use of floating licenses configured in its local license.dat file. A PTC Flexnet server can be configured as either a single server or a redundant "Triad" server. What is a floating license? A floating license refers to a licensing scheme where the permission to execute the PTC product is controlled by the FlexNet server (the PTC License Server). In the FlexNet server environment any machine configured as a client will be allowed to use floating licenses until the number of licenses purchased has been exhausted. The license.dat file may be configured with an
I am using Creo Schematics Release 4.0 and DatecodeM010Hi, I'm trying to import a new design property file into my creo schematic file. But im getting an error I've never seen before which is failing my import. The dialog box displays "Prototype missing for port '1'".Here are the errors that I facedImport failed:Prototype missing for port '1'
For Creo, I want to know mathematical expression for converting windows coordinates to 3d coordinates if with respect to mouse click or vice versa.
I do have a base parametric model, with this model i would like to generate so many models with out using manual Creo tools. All the possible existing parameter values i would like to change in a combinational form. Please help, any automation tool was exist. If not to achive my requirment any automation script can be developed. Thanks and RegardsVishnu Ch
Hello, I've to upgrade creo to vb-api. This upgrade has to be done for many machines. How can I upgrade creo for many machines without disturbing the users?
When I add an overlay sheet or view, at the beginning , seems to work. after the check-in, if you close and erase not display, when you open again the drawing that contain the Overlay, the result is some DATUM with large rectangle, and this result also in the publication of Windchill.Only if I open in my session the source drawing and after I regenerate the target drawing, the problem will solve. But taking in to account that after the check-in the cad worker will retrieve only the target drawing, so the problem will reflect after in windchill.
We are licensing Creo on the server side, but some of our client PCs are on Creo 7.0 and others are on Creo 4.0. We are going to renew the licenses.I am concerned that there will be authentication problems if I set up one and the same license on the server side, since each client has a different Creo version. Could you please let me know? Best Regards,
I am using Mathcad 14 and have Mathcad work sheets from many years ago in which I used the function splin2, but it does not work now (error). Bard AI search says the function has been "deprecated" in Mathcad 14, but the "the Mathcad Classic add-in" can add the splin2 function back into my Mathcad 14 program. Can you help me find the Mathcad Classic add-in?
It does not allow me to create a new account to be able to have the application for 30 days
HI Team, Background work we have done for this, collected all the views and filtered the flat view by the part model used in the view. retrieved solid from the view, from solid collected number of surface and no of edges using surface visit and contour visit.and set the view for surface recognition For ProDimensionAutoOrdinateCreate(). also given Proselection surface_array and edge selection through Program. but not able to achieve dimensions even after conditions are specified for the surfaces and edges. We are getting one error while executing ProDimensionAutoOrdinateCreate() this function all. I was looking through an old newsreel and saw such a frame: a university teacher gives a task to a student.Mathcad cannot solve this equation. And can you?
Beware of using the "stack" function with mixed unit matrices containing zero terms without units. Prime seems to "leak" the units from another term to the unitless zero terms: Given that Prime is fairly pedantic about using units - even on zero terms- subsequent computations using 0.N instead of 0 will fall over. This can unwittingly happen when radians are used, and you expect the value to remain a pure ratio. The get around is to ensure radians are inserted at source - even though Prime strips them off in subsequent results: If you copy and paste this result, into another expression, the rad unit will get swapped out for another: However, this is of no help if the zero value is not an angle e.g. a zero count value.
Can someone recognize these types of charts and which software they were done from? Are these from Mathcad Prime or Matlab or any other software you may know of? Can these be done in Mathcad Prime 3 aswell?
Hi Every one, My requirement is to create an irregular pattern of holes. I have 'X' and 'Y' dimensions of points where holes to be made and will create a family table of patterns.but, after creating table pattern the points are reversely plotted (-ve became positive and positive became -ve). I think it is taking relative position instead of absolute positions. I can reverse the signs to get the proper results but I have to use the exact values of 'X' and 'Y' dimensions. I have attached the snaps of the problem I am facing. please help.
I am running CREO Parametric 7.0.4.0 on Windows 10.I would like to use the boolean cut function to match some mating geometry. I've watched a few videos on how its done and it seems rather simple.I was having issues so I created 2 cubes and a practice assembly, however when I try and select the geometry to be used as the cut, it will not let me select it. (view in My Videos) I do see a feedback message in the bottom left that states: "Reference cannot be uesd due to the scope setting of NONE for Environment." I could not find an obvious setting in the config to make this adjustment to locally. Any ideas?
Hello - Sophos has gone rogue and is deleting trueSolid-x64.dllWe have the file whitelisted on the server, but all these clients have detached.Yes, I'm currently working with Sophos to address the client randomly detaching from EnpointCentral. However, I have 7 engineers without CREO and need a quick fix. Is there any way to run Creo 7.0.2.0 without trueSolid-x64.dll? (sophos is difficult to remove on remote clients as it requires booting to safe mode to disable tamper protection).for reference, the error Creo throws is and putting trueSolid-x64.dll back in play is immediately deleted by Sophos, which promptly pats itself on the back for doing such a good job. Thanks,Fred
I am thinking of upgrading my Alien 17 R4 laptop (intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7820Hk CPU 2.9GHz, 32GB RAM ). I would appreciate any thoughts, guidance or recent experience on selecting a laptop/desktop PC suitable for running parallel instances of Prime - where each instance is running a large numerically intensive programme. Many thanks GeoffD
Hi, guys!!! I'm very appreciate you for your product, it's genious, really. I've tried a lot of programs (such as WolframAlpha, Maxima, MathLab and etc.), but when I tried MathCad, I understood - i fell in love with it.But there are two really major flaws:1. I can't debug the program I wrote and it makes it difficult to find errors, I have to spend a lot more time looking for them. You have primitive programming language (in terms of implementation complexity), so I guess it shouldn't be hard to implement.2. I use your program with my laptop, and when I use draft page, it becomes very difficult, to navigate in horizontal directions, so I'm forced to drag the slider, which is not so fast and comfortable. So that's my second request - basically improve touchpad navigation, in every sense)Good luck with development and thanks again for your product!!!
I have used units but when writing the function to excel I am getting error. Please help
When importing AP242 STEP files into Creo Parametric 8.0.4.0, some driving dimensions are converted to NOTES and lose all PMI parameter data. I need all driving dimension to retain PMI parameter values (dimension value, tolerance value and tolerance type, etc).Any suggestions on why some are converted to Notes and how to ensure all dimensions retain PMI parameter values?
Hi, With the announcement of Creo+ (which is getting me really excited for the future of CAD and PTC taking the lead) I'm wondering, how do the 2 products relate to each other? We are using Creo Parametric with Windchill at the moment. Will moving to Creo+ at some point eliminate the need for Windchill? And will the files and its features be compatible / exchangeable with one another? Happy to see your answers, Jeroen
Hello all,The explosion lines in the 2D figures do not correspond to the settings and not to the representations in the corresponding 3D figures. The explosion line based on the center line and its values are 4-1-1-1. What could be the reason for this? Thanks and best regardsRamon Bohne
Is it possible to define a coordinate/position, so that this point is automatically selected within a sketch using mapkey? My objective is to update a curve (which already works with mapkey) and that curve is used in a sketch to extrude a part. When updating the curve you have to select the new one to replace the reference: To prevent the user from selecting something that should not be selected, I'd like to use the mapkey to select the right curve in the sketch. I'm using Creo 7 Thanks in advance!
Hello, namely it is about Math Cad 9. I bought and downloaded this file __pim_installmgr_mathcad_9__ Actually, double-clicking should start the installation. Unfortunately, the file is only unpacked and then nothing else happens? Now I don't know how to fix the problem and would be very grateful for help.
