Is it possible to create sub-sets of restricted parameters, so that the first parameter selected from a restricted list defines the restricted list for a second parameter? An example is tolerance standards for different processes. Rather than have one long list of ALL tolerance standards (including e.g. die-casting, injection-moulding, sheet metal etc), is it possible to have a restricted list of Processes first, which then defines the second restricted list containing tolerances for the selected process only?Example in other words:First parameter - choose 'Die Casting' from the list of processes.Second parameter - choose from a list of standards only applicable to Die Casting.
"This value must be a scalar"Why does the standard lognormal (Pr_lnorm) workbut when I introduce a program into the function definition (Pr_tlnorm), I get the above error?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.1.0When I print a postscript file, Adobe Distiller leaves off ASME fonts from the drawing like diameter and degree. What font do I need installed?
Hey, I want to set tolerancing standard version to ISO 2018 but only ISO 2012 and 2017 are available in options, is there any file which can be downloaded to get the ISO 2018 standard?
i have a big assembly that adds, removes and shapes parts based on the given parameters.(input in excel, most part numbers and dimentions are determened in the excel. this information is put in a tekst file which creo parametric model reads) this makes it not possible for the file name to be the part number as it changes based on the inputthis part number is now in a parameter called PART_NUMBER to print all the drawings form ONLY the active parts and assemblys to pdf, i found i need to "remove not displayed" and then save the top assembly as a copy and have it copy the drawings with them. (to isolate only the active models drawings)then i can use the probatch thingy to print those isolated drawings to pdf for the new file names i need them to be the current value of the parameter PART_NUMBERi added the column PART_NUMBER next to the column "new file name" so i could manualy type it in.... (not ideal)i cant copy paste as it does not let me copy the number (guess it
Hello! Would anybody explain to me, please, how to plot a family of curves given in the attached file?Whenever I define the parameter "const" as a vector or a matrix, the plot fails to visualize. But when "const" has only one assigned value, only one curve (as expected) gets it plot. Best regards,Sergey
Hello,I have a problem with implementation a license into a server,or more likely reading the license from the server.I transfered a license from one server to another, using this instruction:https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad-Installation/How-to-Transfer-Mathcad-license-from-an-existing-Host-ID-to-a/m-p/788323#M1599After transfering and implementing it on FLEX License Manager, with help from given instructions, when i install mathcad 15 on my local machine and try to run it, this monit pops up:Movement through port 7788 is open on the server, and FLEXlm service for PTC is up and running,Didn't have any errors through the implementation process, restarting FLEXlm doesn't help.Error no. shown: 96, 491.
We've recently switched to Creo 9 and as a result I'm constantly being told to switch my XCH type hatching to PAT. I do this, but there's something odd (to me) about how the patterns scale when I'm modifying them in a drawing. For example, I have two similar parts, with the same 1:1 scaling on their drawings. I would think that if I edit the hatching on both and set the angle and scale to the same value, they should look the same if the drawing scale is the same. That is not what I see on the two drawings. The sectioned view for the two parts contradicts what I'd expect, based upon what I see if I increase the "scale" value. If I'm editing a hatch and increase the "scale", the spacing between the hatch lines increases. But in these two views, as you can see, the larger scale value is resulting in a smaller spacing interval for the lines. I guess my basic question is: What does the Scale value mean? It's evidently not scaled from the definition file, or whatever these are stored

I am teaching a class and need the 30-day license. When trying to license Mathcad, I receive a screen message that says I have exceeded the maximum number of licenses for this product type.I must have had Mathcad long ago on a computer that no longer exists. Can I load and use it on this one?
Hello Everyone. With referring to Werner's suggestion and Ttokoro's suggestion on solving with MathCad ( or Prime ) https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Butterfly-problem/m-p/848009#M204472I'm interesting in it : Given:Let ABC be a triangle with incircle ( O ), and let ( O ) touch BC, CA, AB at A', B', C' respectively. M is a arbitrary-point move on B'C'. Lines BM and CA meet at B''. Lines CM and AB meet at C''. Lines A'M and B''C'' meet at A''.Prove :A'' move on incircle ( O ) ( with M move on B'C'. ) Thanks in advance for your time and help. Best Regards. Loi.
How can someone with Prime 5.0 open/convert a Prime 8.0 mcdx file so they can open?
Hi everyone We have converted several Mathcad 15 sheets to Mathcad Prime 8 and are now seeing very slow performance, particularly when doing file opening and saving pdf. Opening a Mathcad file, recalculate it and print it to pdf earlier took around 30 seconds per file, now it takes 2-5 minutes. We do not use reference sheetsWe have a lot of programming constructions (e.g. if statements and lookups)We use multi-threading, which improves speed a bit. We don't appear to get the full benefit when having multiple files open, i.e. the engine appears to do calculations in a single sheet at a time and then moves to the next sheetFor saving pdf, we are using the built-in pdf generator (i.e. the Save as command), this appears faster than printing to Adobe Acrobat pdfThe graphical user-interface appears delayed compared to the calculation engine (e.g. when hitting recalculate, the display is not always up-to-date, although there's a green dot in the lower left corner of the window)
Make 1 ohm by 1 ohms is my best electric circuit puzzles. I show the 1D, 2D and 3D lattice answers. Maybe these are the only one solution for each dimension. Puzzle 28 is using this 3D lattice shape 1*1*2. Where is the most far surface distance point from [0,0,0]? Find the point and the distance.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.4.0We manufacture round tanks and need to use a feet-inch tape on the shop floor. Need a way to show the tank circumference in feet-inches on the drawing. We calculate the circumference using a relation formula and can only display the number in inches. How to display in feet-inches?
When I am writing a program that won't fit on one page, the program continues onto the next page. When that happens, I lose program visibility. Portions of the program are lost in the header. What can I do to subdivide a program so that none of the program visibility is lost in the header? Is there a continued statement that I can add to a program without losing functionality?
I cannot acquire a license for the 30 day trial with full functionality. I go through the PTC Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0 License Wizard and on the "Acquire License" tab, the progress bar loads while saying "Verifying Eligibility..." until it freezes and after 20-30 seconds I get an error saying "License service appears to be busy. Please try again."I really need to try out the full functionality to see if this software is suitable for my needs.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi All,I have change threaded hole dia standarts. Can I change?I have looked under sd_customize folder full path is "C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo Elements\Direct Modeling 20.5.1.0\personality\sd_customize\MachiningAdvisor" but I did not see all parameters.
The offset lines in the parts tree cover a lot of space in assemblies. It takes a lot of scrolling up and down. All other elements of the tree can be grouped. Is there a possiblity to hide or to group the offset lines?
Hello, up to now I am using MathCad 15, and there I use the feature of the two calculation runs:1rst run: using global definitionIn this run I put all of my calculations, which usually requires re-definition of global parameter. 2nd run: using "normal" operatorsIn this run I put results, plots etxc. The big advantage is that I can place# all parameter definitions at the top of the sheet# all results just below the parameter definitions# all formulas below the results In Prime this seems not to be possible any more, as a global parameter can only be defined once. Now I have 2 issues:# how to place results at the top of the file ?# how to convert my MathCad 15 files? Hope that someone can helpChristoph
We have a circle with r=10 cm. Solve the blue area of Octagon and Square make the shape. This is able to find without trigonometric function or Junior high school knowledge. But we can use Mathcad to solve.
Hello Everyone. From the following : Thanks in advance for your time and help. Best Regards. Loi.
hello allwe are working since 2 weeks in Creo parametric 7 but our cad worker admin installed a Creo parametric 8 version for the cad worker.today we see some differences between what we have in Creo parametric 7 and the viewable made.see screenshotsif I open this drawing in Creo parametric 8 I can see also those modificationsquestions: is there a config option to avoid this behavior on the cad worker? i tried :auto_clean_shown_dimensions noUSE_V19_CLEAN_DIMS no also USE_V19_CLEAN_DIMS yeswithout results.seems related to flat definition on sheet metal so what is different in creo parametric 8?thanks for your help
The picture shows the "ears" I add to rectangular depressions in a part so that the fillet left by the milling cutter will be removed and I can bolt a rectangular part with sharp edges into the depression. Is there some better way to handle this problem in Creo? What do you do? As a footnote, we used to call a depression like the one shown, a "dap." Is there a better term now in use?
