Hello, I would like you to help me with the following question, I have already reviewed the blog and the PTC community, however I cannot find a solution. I am trying to convert this dimension into an inspection dimension. Likewise, I have to use the properties of this dimension, I right clicked and this appears, only this option, (see picture) I'm using 7.10.0.I have seen on another blog that it is necessary to unlock it but I do not have that option, if someone can help me it would be of great. It toke a lot of my time.
I'd like to make a slot for a dovetail-joint, where the slot narrows . How do I do this kind of extrude in a rectangular block? Added a quick hand drawn sketch for reference. 🙂
Hi,Trying to show text from 3 parameters that are included in a part family table in a single cell that's part of a simple repeat region in a table on a family table part file drawing. How does reference a family table instance part parameter in a simple repeat region relation?I have found examples of referencing assembly members but not part file instances. Example of what I want the address cell to look likeHow table currently looksExample of repeat region relations not workingAppreciate any help you may provide,Don A.Creo 8 sample files attached
Is there a way to only regenerate the entire family table with my command? I'm modifying a part with family table, and each modification causes the entire family table to be regenerated.
Hello, Can anyone guide me to a tutorial about the ECAD setup for Creo.I am looking around in the CREO help section but that is far from clear and complete.I want to do some ecad setup things in creo4.0 environment but I get stuck.First off all the ptc help tutorial mention start a new assembly -> select the ECAD sub-typeHere I already run into the first issue the ECAD syb type is greyed out so not selectable. I already understood that there are some ecad assembly start parts and ecad start parts that I should fine tune with a set of parameters. So that is clear. But then the default template contains only 2 default parameters. So not much of an example. So a little guidance /tutorial would be welcome to clear out some questions like:How does creo knows a assembly is a ECAD assembly? The same question for the ecad partHoe do the parameters get translated into the IDF3.0 file?....
This month’s challenge is based on 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to lighten a part model by replacing a solid section with 3D beams or 2.5D lattices. If you have the Additive Manufacturing module, you can use the Lattice feature. If you do not have it, how do you model beams with standard Creo features? What combination of Extrudes, Patterns, or other features would you choose? You can create 2.5D lattices or 3D beams of your choice. You can create triangles, squares, hexagons, or octagons (or more). If you make 3D beams, you can add balls at the intersections of the beams if you want to. If you have the Additive Manufacturing module, you can make formula-based or custom lattices. Express your artistic side. You can use a model of your choice, or you can use either or both of the Creo 4.0 provided models. One has a rectangular section that can be replaced; the other has a cylindrical section. You can create the beams
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.9.0Hello,I want to create a custom balloon with two parameters (&asm.mbr.cparam....). I defined a new symbol and defined these parameters in the variable Text. When I want to display the icon as a custom balloon, I only see the parameters and not the value of the parameter. Can component parameters be displayed in BOM balloons?I also tried with an assembly parameter, but that value doesn't appear in the balloon either. Do I need to pay attention to the custom balloon so that I can evaluate parameters in the balloon?
Just wondering if anyone has added Clinch Studs, Nuts and Standoffs into the IFX Library in Creo Parametric.I like the IFX feature, and use it for Screws, but it would be handy to have Sheetmetal fixings.Tried doing it myself, but not really my strong suit.
Turning by milling We propose to create Creo Manufacturing functionality that will make it possible to process using the “Turning by milling” method. There is a need, especially in turning and milling, to organize processing using the “Turning by milling” method. This method is very important for our customers. To obtain scallops of optimal height, it is necessary to shift the center of the cutter tool relative to the axis of the workpiece. In other words, we need to ensure a offset of the cutter axis relative to the workpiece axis (Ew). We tried to do this using the 4X_LEAD_ANGLE angle, but we realized that the Ew offset and the 4X_LEAD_ANGLE angle are different and independent values. That is, it is impossible to obtain a certain offset Ew simply by changing the angle 4X_LEAD_ANGLE, and vice versa. Moreover, the contact point of the “END MILL” tool with values of 4X_LEAD_ANGLE is more than 1 deg. from the center of the tool face, when 4X_LEAD_ANGLE is close to zero,
For Example:- I have a skeleton model with a family table with 100 instances.- I then create a PART with a family table with 100 instances with the External Copy Geom (set to auto update) of the skeleton- When I very all instances of the new PART and open one of the instances the External Copy Geom is NOT regenerated for that specific skeleton instance and I have to manually edit definition for it to regenerate correctly. (This is NOT an ideal way of verifying 100's of instances) Is there any way I can fix this issue. Its a major issue for my design team. We are in Creo 10
I am trying to get ModelCheck to check my Part Parameters for any empty parameters.I would like it to report an error and make the user fill in the parameters that are empty (this cannot be a list, it just needs something/anything in it) I want the engineers to fill out the Material, condition ect parameters. Can Modelcheck check these are not empty? Using Creo 7.0.8.0

Hello, I want to add multiple balloons in the drawing more than quantity available in assembly. For this how I can keep text blank of REF balloon? What and how shall I enter in to "reference_bom_balloon_text"?Any other suggestion than using symbol for balloon?Using REF balloon is OK but I don't want any text in "reference_bom_balloon_text". Thank you.

Hello all, I created a basic square with dimensions: H10.50" X L4.00" X T0.06" and create an STL for my 3D printer, when transferred over, these were the values. When i unchecked Inches, the mm is setup as inches value.the standard unit setup for the part is inches. When dimensioning it into mm with creo using standard unit inches for the part, it would build it correctly in the 3D printer with correct dimensions. I am unsure exactly what's causing this issue in my Creo. I don't think it's 3D printing related. Please can someone help me? Thank you,FYang
Just came across article CS378421 for whitelisting certain URLs in Creo's embedded browser. This is close to what we need, but it would so much easier to implement for our purposes if there was the possibility to Block certain URLs, rather than trying to document all possible allowed sites. Could we for example have a ZBrowser Registry Key called BlockListLocation and manage that like the AllowListLocation? This would be a major win for us as it would solve an age old company specific Windchill cache corruption issue I wont get into here..
I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0Hello, I'm working on a project with several people, and everyone designes mechanically welded assemblies with AFX. It creates a part for each profile, each beam which is saved locally (only on the CREO session). Yet, when another colleague wants to open this assembly, no profile is found or displayed. Lots of parts are missing in the model and it's impossible to work with serveral people on the same assemblies (not in the same time). Is it possible to resolve this probleme so that the profiles and beams would be loaded regardless of the open CREO session?Thank you in advanceHere are the errors that I facedMissing modelMissing reference
Hello everyone,I would like to understand in Creo parametric how the .prt files that contain a copy geometry feature that has another reference .prt are updated. Why doesn't the son update when I open it, even if automatic regeneration is set?I always have to do it manually with CTRL + G or regenerate (I attach an image of the two objects opened from a clean session - first father then son)The version used is Creo 8.0.7.0I also tried with 10.0.3.0 where I saw these two new entries (regen_data_sharing_ref_models e retrieve_data_sharing_ref_parts) but even adding them with a value of yes did not change the result. Matteo.
Dear PTC Community,I am currently working on Creo Simulate to perform a FEA on a rain cowl assembly for different wind loadings and also to check if the current weight of this rain cowl assembly can be taken by the motorised louvers without failing (rain cowl assembly is mounted onto the motorised louvers with the help of bolts).I have defined fasterners and weld connections wherever needed but facing some issues with them as listed below:Issue_1: The perimeter welds defined at locations where the top part of the rain cowl assembly is being connected to the side part for example is not being taken into consideration and the solver says that it is taken as bonded idk why? Issue_2: The end welds along the curve for the same two parts of the rain cowl assembly are ignored by the solver idk why either. (It is treated as bonded there) Issue_3: Single element at the top left part of the rain cowl assembly shows an error (Can be seen when tried to run the own_weight static design st
Repeat-Last-Command (RLC) utility recognise last command used in Creo and allow to you start to use last used Creo command. Apply it with CTRL+SPACEBAR For example: if you create a Datum feature you can crate new Datum feature directly with CTRL+SPACEBAR or in the Sketch if you create new Rectangle and you need to create again the new one - select CTRL+SPACEBAR and you can create again last command (Rectangle). DONATE: If you find my RLC (Repeat Last Command) utility useful, please support me - Money donation will be nice 🙂 - DONATION button you can easy find on my "download" page. Download RLC utility: http://4kside.com/en/download.html Good luck,Vladimir Palffy
Hello,I made a part using Creo's Sheet metal with image below. When I create an STL file and send it to our 3D printer, it makes it under millimeter only. Typically, it always ask if i want to convert to inches. When i load it into the 3D printer, it comes out super tiny and small. the problem here isn't the 3D printer, but the part itself.Even though i change the properties to inches/lbm/seconds. it still causes the same issue I have a big feeling it has something to do with this axis below causing this issue:If i build it from a solid model, it doesn't have this issue. I need to build this part under sheet metal, because it will become a sheet metal. Please help.thank you PTC community

HiI am looking for a drawing format for academic use. mm, ISO, 3rd angle.I'm looking for format that templates of standard part and assembly template will be linked to parameters (DESIGND_BY and DESCRIPTION) Thanks
I've created a part model with lettering as a cosmetic sketch, and have been trying to export this part as a STEP file. However, whenever I open the step file, the lettering is completely missing. How can I ensure the cosmetic sketch lettering is visible on the exported STEP file?Creo Parametric v7.0.4.0
