Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have an assembly with over 1000 components, and I must read the entire structure  (all level sub-assemblies and parts).  But then, during the read, the Creo runs generate at every level.  The overall structure read goes beyond 15 minutes.   And there are cases I have to parse Assemblies beyond 1000 components, which makes it impractical to use the custom program. Is there a way to disable generate programmatically during the assembly read?  Example: subComponents = currentComponent.ListFeaturesByType (False,                                                                                                                           &n

I have a question related to projection views, usually we can project side views from parent view and place along the projected axis (move freely along the projected direction). Is there any ways to limit the movement of projected views, like i don't want projected view move opposite direction to the projected direction and placed other side of the main view. This will make wrong angle of projection.  

Hi!I am working on a school project where we are using surface modeling to create a hair dryer suitable for injection molding (We are and have to work in Creo 4.0, just fyi). I decided to go for a more advanced modeling method where I make a boundary blend towards a projection on a complex "pane"/surface (as can be seen in image below). I use a ribbon as a tangent for the boundary blend, I create the ribbon with sketches and curves. The splines in the sketches are tangent to a horizontal center line, while the curves are tangent to axis that are perpendicular to the vertical plane. I do the same for the for the handle (see below).I then merge and thicken this. I use the top-down approach to make the back half referencing the relevant points of the front half. Lastly to my point and my issue, the thicken (even tough all boundary blends uses tangency to ribbons that where created with sketches and curves that are constrained in such a manner that they are perpendicular to the vertic

I'd like to make a parameter have more than one value. I want to create a curve from datum points. To do this, I have imported the datum points offset as a table and created the curve that way. Now I want to automate this process so that I can re-import the points every time I need them and update the curve automatically. Is it possible to import the points table using PRO/Program?     

Morning all.At my place of work we are running Creo 8.We are still in the early days of setting it up correctly.I want to save the config.pro file on the network so that all our users accounts point to same same location so that we all use the same configs - at the moment they are on peoples C drives. I cant seem to find a way to do this.Can anyone advise please? Thanks.

Hello everyone,  I need a small information from your side. As i am performing modal analysis for my structure. My geometry is very simple made up of granite material. I would like to describe my problem in points, that would be easy to unterstand,  1. Firstly, i did the static analysis of my structure, where the outcome was acceptable. I mean to say the deformation (0.00155mm) and the stress (1.004Mpa) were under the limit.  2. Then i performed the modal analysis of my structure with same constraint and load collector, where i have selected 6 eigen mode. After the analysis I got the E1 (507.741Hz) to E6 (1358.87Hz) value.  3. Can someone explain me how to read the modal analysis results, because at each eigen value the results getting changed. Also, should I consider the deformation and the stress value from the modal analysis? Because compare to the static analysis their values are very high.  I would appreciate if anyone have a look on this concern. Thanks S

Hi,  I'm trying to create a sheet metal part like this from 2mm stainless steel, but I'm having problem with the last step which is unbending the part.   I get the troubleshoot message:  "highlighted sharp corners cannot be unbent. Recommended actions: Change the corresponding bend radius to a value greater than zero. If bend is not defined, add an edge bend." I've searched for this problem in the forum but cant find anything similar.  I've tried the following.- checked that the sketches have tangent between lines and curves to not have sharp edges- radius is same in the two sketches to have a consistent bend radius- experimented with using thinner material, different radii of the bends and the circular part and the corner part. longer straight lines in the circular sketch, etc. - tried creating the part in another way by creating a swept blend surface in part modeling and then offsetting the part in sheetmetal. - tried using

I have a few instances in my code where I have a UI tree that is longer than the height of the screen and I want to scroll to a specific position.One example is when i select a tree node using ProUITreeSelectednamesSet (or otk equivalent) I want the scroll position to be set so that the selected node is visible without needing to scroll down manually and search for the highlighted node.Another example is setting the scroll position to the top after a node is added because the default seems to be to scroll to the bottom of the tree.  

I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.4.0Threaded holes are automatically placed on our DTM_AXIS and HOLE_AXIS layers. Our policy is to have all layers turned off when the drawing is complete. This layers off the cosmetic threads. Removing these axes from the layers reinstates them in the drawing.So I guess the solution is to not have these on a layer in the first place. How do we stop just the hole axes from being added to a layer in the first place or is there a better way to handle this situation? Kind regards Greg

How to draw a Squircle shaped cylinder in creo.    

Hi all, Using Creo 4.0  I would like to ask some advice about how you would constrain this (red brownish) U shaped bracket for the shown load situation.  The bracket has 2 holes with a pin in it (so it can rotate). Both holes are loaded with force F/2.Force F is applied on a bolt that is placed in a screwthreaded hole in the bracket. I have modeled the bracket like this:For the pin hole, I use a bearing load with force F/2. I use a displacement constrain to implement symmetry on the cutting surface: I use a surface region to constrain in the axial direction of the screw hole. (cylindrical CS). This model calculates fine, but as can be expected, I have a stress peak at the side of the surface region.Not sure if that is entirely realistic. A slightly different approach is to exchange the screw hole by an 'embedded' bolt, and constrain the tip of the 'bolt': This results in a (lower) stress peak at the indicated spot below. Is it possible to point deployments at a central, config.pro file? Currently we'd overwrite the local version on the computer if a change was needed, but can it instead point to a version say hosted on a server to read the settings? Also can you alter the settings before deployment, so the version of the  config.pro file deployed already has these changes? Thank you.

Hi,I often encounter "circular references" problems,although it can be laid aside because often this problem doesn't has fatal dangerous to my models,but the notification looks uncomfortable to me. But when I take a deep insight into this problem,I always failed to find which dependency relation is the cause,when I click to open the notification center,I only see the root node listed below "circular references(1)". So I want to ask for a method to troubleshoot this problem or any modeling principle to avoid this problem? thanks a lot.  

Hi, I know this post is old but want to understand what did it end up going with? I have 3 files.   The first is a skeleton with the dims i need to drive The next model is the cast version last is the machined version.   I need to be able to change the parameters from the skeleton model but from within the machined file.   TIA

Hi,Does anyone have a solution when exporting a drawing to .DXF format via Web.Link, the file name is always written in lowercase letters. How to get the file name to be written in uppercase letters. Part of the code is as follows:...var DXFOut = pfcCreate("pfcDXFExportInstructions").Create();CurModel.Export(FileName.toUpperCase(), DXFOut);...No mater what I always get filename od disk written in lowercase.,But if I export to PDF format I can get in uppercase format. Any idea, solution?    

We've created a lattice structure using the Engineering - Lattice tool by first extruding a solid and then replacing it with a lattice. Our lattice is a formula-driven gyroid with Replace body with lattice checked. When we export the part as a STL-file and try to import it in to our CAD software it fails.When checking the geometry in meshlab using Filters - Quality, Measures and Computation - Compute geometric measures we get :"Mesh is not watertight, no information on volume, barycenter and inertia tensor" Any ideas on how to proceed? PTC CREO 8.0.4.0
