Can we create a Part file(.Prt) using 2 Different parts from backup with Assembly positions control using Multibody option. example: I have two different parts Models created in creo as two seperate parts, But I need to create as a single Part file. Can we create using Multi body option? If so, how we can be able to bring geometry to a part file with parametric.
We are experiencing a new issue where the Print Screen button used to trigger Techsmith SnagIt does not work when Creo is the active application. It used to work flawlessly, but recently stopped working. Its not a change in Creo because we have not updated Creo in 6 months Its not a change in SnagIt because we have not updated SnagIt in months (IT controlled) My best guess is a change introduced by Windows Updates, Optional Windows Updates or Manufacturer Updates in Windows 10. We use two primary suppliers for laptops and the problem appears to be isolated to Lenovo P series laptops running Windows 10. Lenovo has its own driver update tool keeping the laptop hardware and graphics drivers up-to-date which could add to the confusion. Our current work-around is to click on another application to trigger SnagIt, but this drops any active UI in Creo. Simple screen shots are easy, but training screen shots are now a bit harder since the active UI elements ar

pentable is not working saving to PDF. I think the issue is Config editor doesn't have right stuff activated, but, the pdf use pentable and use 8 pens options disappear after being added when Settings is reopened and rest to NO.
wfcTexture::GetFilePath from the Creo 8 object toolkit returns only the file name, not the full path to the image file. Is there any way to get the actual full file path for the texture image via the object toolkit?
Is there a good way to compare two assemblies' geometry? I have an assembly that we sent to an outside firm for modifications. Those modifications were sent back to us as a step file. The BOM is different and difficult to compare, but the geometries look nearly identical. Is there a good way to compare model Geometry?Ideally it would be a transparent model with removed geometry in red (solid) and added geometry in green (solid). That way I can quickly identify differences in the models.
I have a model that I'm trying to run an analysis on but I can not get it to mesh properly. It is a very odd situation because I can mesh it no problem in AutoGEM and view the mesh results with no errors or warnings but when I start the Analysis and it attempts to mesh the model, I get a completely different number of elements in the mesh and errors. I have tried deleting all the existing mesh files, deleted the folders for the Analysis and even copied everything to a new folder and I get the same results....AutoGEM makes 125k elements, Analysis and Design studies makes 105k elements with all of the default options. Anyone have a clue what could be going on here?
I have a node locked license of creo 3.0. My computer died and I am having trouble downloading and licensing the software on my new computer. Creo support is refusing to help because I don't have an active maintenance subscription. I was finally able to download the software when I found a link to the educational install - I'm hoping its the same. I downloaded my license file from ptc.com but it still has the mac address of my old computer. The installation software wouldn't let me license it. I tried putting the license file into the ptc folder mauall but that didn't work. I tried to manually change the mac address to match my new computer but I get the same error. What am I supposed to do?
Hello PTC Community, We just installed Creo 8 on a new user's machine. The shortcut "Start In" directory was set up to the correct location (I think). The config.pro, config.win and creo_parametric_customization.ui files are in the "Start In" directory. Mapkey icons show up fine on my machine, but they do not show up on the new user's machine at all. Besides, checking the path of the Start In directory, is there anything else which would cause this? This is all deja-vu because I have had this issue before, but can't recall how it was solved. Thanks in advance, Jonathan
Hi,I am seeking to do something similar to this but going from .step to .prt. I have many .step models to start with, and I am trying to produce the Creo.prts using a standard template & settings defined in config.pro and template .dip_step. I have ran through the process once to generate a trail.txt file (attached). I can create a list of .step models to be run on in a .txt file if you can help me with the steps in between. Thanks, Mason
Hello everyone, I would like to know is there any possibility to make a pattern like this. I just want to create one circle and the remaining circle i would like to create as a pattern. For your reference i have attached the image, please have a look. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys,I have 2 Creo 6.0 floating licenses. My support subscription is expired and need to setup a new Windows 2012 license server. How can I download the Creo 6.0 Floating Licensing Server and the setup guide??Please help...Thanks,Nava
Hi,how to add parameters in model automatically? We have alot of old parts on the server. Our machines are always updating so all the old parts are edited/used each year. This year because of technology we need to add new parameter to each part. Is there any way how to add it on checkout or with the help of modelcheck or other way how to add parameters without manual work?
I have revised a part that was perfectly fine. Now it is hollow on the inside after adding 2 features. Any ideas how to fix this?
FlexLM Experts,We're having an intermittent issue with the PTC FlexLM services on one of our license triads (3 servers configuration). We do NOT use FlexNET which is a different setup. The debug log files on 2 of the 3 servers have 1000's of warning messages as shown below."<timestamp> (lmgrd) Warning: Maximum connections to the server has reached. Please disconnect some clients from the server"This is resulting in either the lmgrd.exe or the ptc_d.exe process crashing/stopping, and the license service stops. Without at least 2 of the 3 legs of the license triad running, no licenses are served. Is anyone aware of how the "connections" listed in the warning message can be monitored and/or cleared? Investigating the warning message online points to a failure with too many open file descriptors. I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.4.01. When using a surface from an another model, when you copy and special paste through the assemblyYou can paste that surface into your model, how can you keep the model you're working on and the model you copied the surface from referring back to that surface that you just pasted in to use as references for a new part. if you right click on it and say exclude or permanently delete all references the model that you created from that surface still goes back and looks for that surface and gives you errors. how do you keep your new copy and special pasted surface from ever being referred to?2. also when you set the directory to the file folders you're working in it won't stay connected to that directory it always goes back to the defaultHere are the errors that I facedcopied surface
Hi,i want to try using the parameter "graphics Win32_GDI" to find a debug solution. When I start the Module Works on screen I don't see anything (Stock,Target,Fixture,Tools, ecc), but if there are any collisions they seem to get detected.Has anyone ever tried? I don't want to miss gauge or collision. Thanks
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM030Not able to register server in creo parametric tool using CAE 3.4 showing error server is not supportedHere are the errors that I facedserver is not supportedHere are the errors that I facedNot able to register the Server, in Creo tool. Hello,is it possible to create a part defined by "weak dimensions", what become "strong dimensions" after assembling the part to assembly? For example I have triangular metal sheet with prepared drawing. In assembly there are three points defined for constraints. Then I assemble the metal sheet - triangle vertices of part to points of assembly. After this action is done, triangular sheet and its drawing is adjusted. I need to make a library of simple parts, which all have same constraining points, but there is big number of variations. So user simply choose which variation wants to use, put it into assembly and part and rawing is adjusted. I can make a part driven by relations, but that is not what I need.Sorry for my english 😉 Thanks for any replies
I am using Creo 8I am trying to determine the point where two objects contact each other. You can measure the value with pairs clearance, and it provides a point of contact, but you cannot do anything with that point. I would like to be able to take the point that it determines, and create a plane to measure the diameter where the objects are touching
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.3.0I've created a symbol with parameters recalled inside and correctly saved and stored. But when I import the symbol in a 2D dwgs, parameters can't update but they remains with the construction &ptc_wm_version, &ptc_wm_revision etc.If I use the same parameters outside the symbol (e.g. dwg frame or normal notes) they actually work and assume the value assigned to the parameters. Here are the errors that I facedN/A
Design parts on CREO and submit it on Windchill is my day to day work, but in the last 2 weeks I been having some difficulties to show attributes at Windchill, let me explain step by step what I do:1) check out the part to modify2) Make some physical changes to the model as required 3) At Tools tab, I select the relations option4) On that window I write down all the parameters that I try to save5) In the parameters window I check on designate every attribute that I want to show in Windchill6) Save and check in after that process CREO let me do the check in, but with one warning saying:"The incoming attributes... are rejected because they do not fall within the definition of type"Do anyone knows how to solve this problem?
