HelloI was wondering if anyone had any insight as to how the default tolerance for the add# dimension type is established? Background: • Not using tolerance tables - inch based part • I understand the difference between add#, d# and ad# type dimensions and where they are stored • Windchill 10.1 Our current company config is set as: draw_models_read_only no create_drawing_dims_only yes The "added" dimension in the drawing is add# and the default tolerance is not that of the model tolerance. if the config option is set to create_drawing_dims_only no The "added" dimension in a drawing is now ad# and the default tolerance comes from the model tolerance as expected. The config option (create_drawing_dims_only yes) was set to yes to only store added dimensions in the drawings. This helped reduce the number of dialog box actions by Windchill relative to the solid model (check out/revise, etc) since ad# dimension types changes the model. Than
Hey folks!I've got a problem with my Creo 4.0 license at my workplace. I suspect the problem is server based and not locally, because I've tried to access Creo on two different computers now (same license server).Several times now IT has reported the problem solved, but I still get the same old error message.Does anyone have a clue?Greetings,Sebastian
Hello, I hope some people are out there still using Wildfire or know what is wrong. My Pro/e was working fine but I had to do a clean install of windows 10 and then reinstall my Wildfire version for the DVD. Now I cannot get my Pro/E to install correctly. I get the frustrating error: (-96) License server machine is down or not responding This is a node locked installation and I have the license file. I have tried what I understand from this article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS21768 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Justin
I need to create a simple sketch in a Detail Drawing. When drawing a line, it wants to snap perpendicular or parallel etc... I thought I could temporarily disable snapping by holding down the Shift key, but that does not do anything. Is there a way to disable snapping in a Drawing Sketch... on the fly? Thanks
We have 5 licenses that are being shared by 10 different people. The timeout setting is too short, how do I increase the time so people don't lose the license when they are idle for a few minutes?
We have save_dispaly option set to YES in config.pro When opening the drw with Creo View Express, the format shows correctly. When opening the drw with Creo (Version 7, or 6, or 4) in VIEW-ONLY MODE, the format is missing. The machine that is opening the file does NOT have access to the formats as it is being used to automate the generation of the viewables (PDF) through ptcdbatch. Why the format is displayed in the Creo view Express and not Creo? Is there a config.pro option to tell Creo to NOT look for the formats in view-only mode?”
I am running Creo 7 from a server install. There is one machine that will not run it though and it isn't making sense so far. At the end of the batch file that I use to set different attributes I call out the the server location for the batch file. If I pause my batch file right after the call I get the error: Device is not ready. Why would it not work on this one machine? Is it a network issue? Where should I even start?
We have an assembly that has 16 hex nuts in it. 12 are in a pattern of a group with a bolt and 2 washers. Windchill structure of the assembly shows the full counts. In the Creo BOM table, one of the groups is not being counted. I checked for repeat region relations and there are none. Has anyone seen this behavior before? If so, how did you fix it? Creo 4 m080 Windchill 11.0 m030
Hello, i would do an analysis to determinate a forze of a spring gas to open a horizontal door. In my dynamic analysis i have set a linear motor on the spring gas and the gravity force, i would like a output a graph that show the trend to resultant of the forces in function of the opening angle. My result now is a graph of reaction forze on the spring gas, but it have't the correct trend: i expect a curve showing zero at a certain angle (balance of forces) Someone have advice? Thanks
Hello, I am detailing a pipe and despite showing the centerlines layer, the centerlines do not appear in the drawing view. Any ideas on why the centerlines are not visible? Thank you.
Dears, I have two questions. When I am in assembly or part, and want to use option File > Save as > and choose saving type as pdf. Then I get an effect like in attachment. I have a background colour in appearances set as white. Why do i get this navy blue colour as a background in pdf? How can I make it white? Is there a possibility to make a perspective view on the drawing? I am using Creo 5.0 M040. Thank you in advance for any hints. Robert
Hi all, I have some coordinates that I am able to export from another tool to give general component locations, and I'd like to be able to take this file and somehow automate the placement of parts in a blank assembly. Each component could be fixed in place for this, or assembled to a CSYS, if it's eaiser to import a bunch of CSYSs. I have no problem creating an external script to translate the output of the tool in to any format needed, but I just don't know how best to approach the placment of the parts. I looked at trail files, but I don't see a way to use actual numbers for XYZ, since the placement is done with the mouse. Even with AutoIT, I don't see a way to assemble a part and then enter XYZ coordinates for placement. Thanks
I am receiving the message: "Integrated mode error checking found error(s) in the modelafter generating elements." and then the simulation is interrupted. In general sense, what does it mean that?
Good moorning, I need to do a FEM in a movement mechanism. It's possible to extract structural data when the mechanism works? I start the exercici dividing de whole mechanism in some assemblys and analizing them, using simulate. But i don't know how i can join the different assemblys and then apply movement on teh system. Someone can i help me? Thank you so much and best regards
With the wide-spread use of additive manufacturing, you now have more options than ever before for part and assembly design. That’s because without the restrictions of traditional manufacturing, more intricate structures can now be used to optimize weight, strength, and even heat distribution. (For an overall introduction, read our Beginner’s Guide to Lattice Structures in Additive Manufacturing.) In a recent presentation from PTC University, Matt Huybrecht discussed and demonstrated new features in Creo that support lattice structures for those who want to use them. However, before you start, a few questions came up that we thought you might find interesting: Can I do a structural analysis on stochastic lattices? YES! The DISPLAY of the geometry is that of simplified representation geometry, but the lattice geometry does contribute to mass properties calculations. Therefore, you can leverage it in structural analyses. How is the additive manufacturi
