Hello, I'm working with Creo 10, and I need to do some modifications in a model and its external data programatically (through Protoolkit API) based on some information contained into a XML file which is the primary content of a Windchill Document. I'm wondering if there are methods defined in API which can help me to do that, I don't want to modify the file, only read it. I tried to retrieve the document by using the "ProServerObjectsCheckout" function but it didn't find anything. I'm not sure this is possible since I don't see defined any appropriate handler (ProSolid, ProDrawing, etc.) for WT Documents. Thanks.Ivan B.
Hi Is there any API or some approach to verify whether sketch is fully constrained or not? I can get section from sketched feature using Toolkit. From section, I can verify number of dimension and number of constrains... But there is no such thing whether sketch is fully constrained or not. Any thought? Thanks and REgards KEtan
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM010Dear PTC Support teamWhat is MPI Service? why it's not running? Is in EMX module or Analysis Extension? Please see attached file.
Product: Creo Parametric Version: All versions Issue Type: Functional Defect Severity: High Problem Description: Inability to save STP files with Chinese characters in filenames Filenames get truncated or display garbled characters when attempting to save Affects all Unicode characters (including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) Technical Analysis: STEP export module fails to properly handle UTF-8 encoding File dialog doesn't utilize Windows Unicode API Internal string processing lacks proper multibyte character set consideration Proposed Solutions: Refactor export module to use wide-character API (wchar_t) Add "Filename Encoding" option in STEP export settings Implement UTF-8 encoding for all file operations Add filename validation supporting Unicode characters Provide clear error messages for unsupported characters User Impact: Severely affects non-Latin script users (Chinese/Japanese/Korean markets) Disrupts workflow by requiring manual file renaming Degrades international user expe
Hello, I am attempting to run a structural design study within Creo Simulate 7.0.4.0. There is a pop-up window that says "The selected functionality requires a Basic Creo Simulate license". From what I read online, you need three licenses (MECELITEUI, MECELITEENG, and CREOSIM_Standard) to access the basic functionalities of Creo Simulate. From ptcstatus, I can see that I am not pulling a MECELITEENG license (even though that license is available on the server).PTCSTATUS shows this:License In Use Free------- ------ ----PROE_DesignEssH Uncounted, LockedPROE_EssentialsPMHome Uncounted, LockedMECELITEENG_License Uncounted, LockedMECELITEENG_License 0 8MECELITEENG_License 0 34MECELITEUI_License Uncounted, LockedMECELITEUI_License 1 7MECELITEUI_License 0 34MathcadPrime Uncounted, LockedMathcadPrime 0 2PROE_EssentialsP 0 8PROE_DesignEss 25 3PROE_EssentialsPM 0 6MECBASICENG_License 0 3MECBASICUI_License 0 3MathcadPrimeSDK 0 2CREOSCHEM_Lite 0 8CREOSCHEM_Lite 0 34CREOSIM_STANDARD 1 2My
I received a config.pro file containing mapkey settings. Some of them work, while others don't execute the intended commands. If I manually set the command via Creo → Options → Mapkeys Settings, it works, but it doesn’t allow me to save the changes, so the old command is active again after restarting the software. Exporting and importing didn’t help either. The command was assigned to the vb keyboard combination, and I tried to set it to the View Bottom orientation. Is it possible to overwrite an existing mapkey so that it persists after restarting Creo, or can only unused keyboard combinations be reliably assigned for this purpose?
I am looking for a more detailed step per step explanation for the Creo FlowAnalysis Premium Module. I need to perform a gear box analysis with the multiphase and the rotation 1DoF module. I have not found any files about the rotation module.Does anyone know where I can finde some information about this topic´? Thanks
@MatthewV What did you exactly do to solve this issue? Reference topic: https://community.ptc.com/t5/System-Administration/Cannot-connect-to-license-server-after-change-of-network/m-p/952844#M31019 How did you check if the network is classified as public or private? I have the same issue here but with a difference: I can pull the license but a colleague cannot. Thanks, Sjoerd
hi, We're using Creo 10.0.6.0. We have many models that while regenerating flag multiple warnings, "Design Intent is Unclear." We always ignore these. I'm wondering though if that's what we should be doing? Many of the warnings seem dumb. Example: "The boundary of the highlighted surfaces was extended. Unexpected results are possible." If the extend feature should not be used, why does that feature exist? I'm wondering if we should mark the "ignore" checkbox in the Geometry Checks window. Is Creo taking longer to regen the models due to these checks? Is it possible to turn these checks off completely? (And would that be advisable?) Are there cases where the warnings are actually valid and the part really should be remodeled? All feedback is welcome!
How to do pipe end treatment in creo piping?Copper pipe end requires Converging/diverging profile at the end depending on the fitting size. Also the pipe end made it round using pipe end forming techniques. is it possible to do pipe end forming methods in creo piping?Below images are the anticipated shapes (Created in different CAD system, not in creo)
Before I start creating some new hole files, does anyone have any UN (ASME B1,1) and BSPP (G class) hole files. Thanks Stuart
1. I'm head of technical department, We realize drawings and molds for tyres 2. We use Creo 10 version. 10.0.8.0 3. My problem is to manage the state layer in assembly mode, for each kind of component where i have created inside of each one the releated state layer. 4.Complete the tyre sequence, in different rules study mold. 5.I don't know, is a new process. Speed on the drwaings and rules check and the modification is very helpfull for each drawer
Hi Guys I hope you all going good I'm trying to get the dimension from the Gtol, we have one API called "ProGtoldataPlacementGet" from this API we can get the actual Dimension of the gtol but this API is already deprecated. I'm using Creo 10, does any one knows the alternate solution please help to resolve the issue. Thanks
What is the correct workflow in simulate - assembly to replace a component with a point mass idealization at the part C.O.G. and constrain it to the assembly with links? When using mass idealization - component at point - the following notification appears: "You have included a mass idealization of a component which contains the highlighted volumes that will be meshed during an analysis. This will result in the mass being accounted for twice in the run."If I create a simplified representation of the part which removes the solid geometry, the simplified representation removes the component from view entirely (including the cog datum point defined in the part). My current approach is to open the part/subassembly to idealize, do mass properties, enable X/Y/Z COG features, then create an offset point with relations using those features to define it. Then I return to the assembly simulation and create an assembly datum point at the assy level defined by the COG location point within the part.
Hello everyone,I would like to control the overall dimensions of my assemblies in Creo using ModelCHECK. The thing is, I design welded assemblies in Creo, and I need ModelCHECK to send me an alert message whenever I exceed a certain overall size.I’ve already managed to create an overall size parameter and display it in the ModelCHECK interface, but I haven’t yet succeeded in comparing it to my threshold values and triggering an alert when the overall size exceeds those limits.thank you for your help 😉
Hey folks,I’m running into an issue with Flexible Modeling in Creo, and could really use your help. Here’s the situation:I have a plunger part model originally created in SolidWorks. When I import it into Creo, as expected, the feature tree from SolidWorks doesn’t come through — it simply shows up as an “imported geometry id.” That means I can’t directly edit the original features. So, my only practical option here is to use Flexible Modeling to make the necessary adjustments. Now, here’s the problem:When I try to drag or offset the highlighted cylindrical feature (the main body of the plunger), it’s only extending along the conical surface. What I actually need is for the entire front body of the model to extend together with the cylindrical feature — essentially, I want the whole front section to shift forward as the cylinder grows. I’ve attached screenshots and the Creo part file (.prt) for reference. Unfortunately, I couldn’t upload the original .sldprt file, so I’ve
Hi,I have a part that has a groove in the shape of an arc (see screenshot below). In the drawing of this part, I would like to draw an arc to show the 'middle line' of the groove. This arc should be in the 'centerline' linetype so --- . --- . --- .Similar to the centerline drawn in the 2nd straight groove. In the drawing screenshot below, the red arc is what I want, drawn in centerline. How can I best do this?PS. I am using Creo 4.0 (on Windows 10).This is the arc shaped groove
Tring to generate a Kelvin lattice structure. One that once generated cab be inserted into the lattice feature to generate various lattice's. Has anyone done this or managed to find a good method of generating one? generated a rough wireframe but sweeps, extrudes and blends didn't seem to be the right way about it. Lattice i am trying to re-create can be seen in the following file https://s3.amazonaws.com/servicecloudassets.formlabs.com/media/Materials/Silicone%2040A%20Resin/lattice_watch_Silicone40A_STLs.zip
I have configured ModelCheck in Creo 11 to update part, assembly, and drawing parameters. When I run the ModelCheck in batch mode, only part and assembly files get their parameters updated and designated as per start file. Drawing parameters only update if I manually start ModelCheck Interactive. I've gone through the check file multiple times, and the settings (YNEW) are set identically for both Interactive and Batch mode in all checks so I would think they should work the same way whether I run Interactive or Batch.Again, the updates work for all files in Interactive, and for parts and assemblies in batch. What am I missing here?
(view in My Videos)Creo 7 (yes, I know it is unsupported). This issue has had me waste a couple of hours already and I am stumped. Model enclosed for review. I have a trivial sketch that is not correctly constrained when using a relation to control a sketch which is a parent of said constrained sketch. First sketch serves as parent of sketch 2 Sketch 2 Video showing that when driving sketch 1 using a relation to drive dimension d10 in sketch 1 the constraints in sketch 2 are not maintained correctly. Anyone have any insight into why?
Creo Shrinkwrap fail with error "Feature aborted. Geometry was overlapping." I have set the absolute accuracy to 0.0001, still i face the issue.
Hi, we are currently using Creo 11 with SAP as our PDM system. We also want to use Advanced Framework. When using AFX connectors which are not project specific (e.g. ITEM universal connector) we want the connectors to be loaded from the library. When inserting such a connector in an assembly the component is just in session with no path (Tools -> Model information). When the assembly then is saved, a copy is written in the working directory. When I close Creo and reopen the assembly the component is taken from the working directory. When I remove the component from the working directory and reopen the assembly in Creo, the component is loaded from the library. When using the standard Creo assemble feature it looks like the component is first opened in Creo and then assembled. Something must have changed since it was working with Creo 9. Is there any setting that could help getting the non project specific components directly from the library (with path reference to libr
Hello Is Creo Parametric CAM software outputting tilted work plane or dynamic fixture offsets? If yes, then how do we use it with the combination of the post-processor regards Asif

Is it possible to create or redefine a simplified representation in Creo Parametric WITHOUT causing it to activate? I often will make adjustments to an arbitrary simp rep while the model is open in an empty rep. However, the only options I see are "Open", "Cancel", and "Apply". Pressing Open is the only way I know to actually save the changes made, which forces the simp rep to become the active rep in the model. This can be extremely frustrating when working with a massive assembly.I would love to see this screen have options like "Save", "Apply", and "Cancel" instead of the current set.
