Hi I want to attach an existing symbol(.sym) to a dimension in the drawing file. I need a c# or a c++ code to do this activity. Thanks in Advance
I am trying to show axis for slotted holes, Creo 4.0
Dear All, I am converting a 2D drawing from a part of an existing product into a MBD dataset. To do so, I would like my MBD dataset to fully encompass all the annotations found in the 2D drawing (as they are the critical dimensions of the part), however, on the 2D drawing a Pitch Circle Dimension (PCD) of a hole pattern has been specified. I tried to annotate this through selecting 'Show dimensions' on the holes that lay on the pitch circle, but this did not work. Furthermore I tried 'Dimension' from the annotations tab but this also seemed to not be able to show the PCD. On both PTC (community) website and Google I could not find any answer on how to do this correctly, so therefore I am posting here. My question is: How can I (3D) annotate the Pitch Circle Dimension? I did find a small work around, to use 'dimension' between two holes of the dimension. This sort of gives the dimension of the PCD, but the two holes are not parallel to the x-axis of the annotation plane. S
Typically,I create a 2D cam diagram in Creo using the "Create a curve by using an equation" feature. After generating the curve,I create a new sketch and project the curve onto it.Additionally,I save a copy of this sketch. Subsequently, I utilize the "Datum" -> "GRAPH" option, and then I insert the copied sketch (the file) into this "graph" feature.Next, I employ the "graph" and the "evalgraph" function to construct a 3D cam diagram suitable for Creo's sweep cut feature. Thus, there are two cam diagrams in my process:One is a regular sketch that is linked to the 2D equation curve, which I use for making drawings; The other is the sketch in the "GRAPH".I believe there might be a better method for creating a barrel cam model and its associated drawings.I would appreciate it if you could share your experience, thank you~!
Hi,I want to know if it is possible to create a "Default Envelope Rep" that excludes internal components and I can solidify using JLink? and I want to set quality also
1. Describe the Problem Please update the drawing creation tool so that it isn't terrible. The automatic dimensioning is a mess. The leader placement for hole callouts is ridiculous. It is far too many clicks to add basics such as hole centermarks, let alone the nightmare of patterning centermarks for a bolt circle. Maybe have someone on the staff with experience working to common engineering standards help out the programmers? Why have you inflicted this upon us? 2. Are you using a workaround?Yes, encouraging my management to dump Creo for one of its more competent competitors.3. What is the use case for your organization? We make standard engineering drawings.4. What impact does this problem currently have on your organization?Wasted time, money, effort, lots of staff time spent complaining about how awful Creo is.
Hi everyone, I have generated some 4-axis tool paths using the B-axis (rotating the stock), However, every time I export the Gcode it only has XYZ movements. I know that my tool paths are not great and there is still a lot of work needed so any suggestion is welcome, however the most important issue I need to solve is that the Gcode it exports is different than the toolpaths. So any help would be appreciated. I'm going to leave the Creo (Creo 9.0) file and a screenshot of the CNC interface for reference. Regards,Andrea
I am using Creo Simulate Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.3.0I'm having an issue adding a measure. I have a pair of nested cones that represent the front of an aerodynamic body. There is a pressure applied to the outside of the outer cone. There is a bonded interface between the two cones. So, this is like a cone with a thin coating of a different material.I want to know if the coating will delaminate. I want to put a measure on a line along the inner surface of the cone so I can measure shear. However, I can't figure out how to get shear in a specific axis (not one of the primary axes), and whenever I add a measure to a line the study will no longer run.
Hello,i want to install Creo6 with Win11 on an new computer. The licensfile is ok, only windows firewall is installed. When i start the licensidentification everything looks ok, after dropping the licensfile into i get the message "is started" but after this nothing happens and no further reaction or message (also after some minutes). What is the problem? Thanks Alex
It seems as if our IT dept has decided independently that they can save a lot of money on getting computers with slower processors as long as the processor has a good Turbo speed. I've never paid much attention to the Turbo speed when specifying a processor for Creo. What are the thoughts on Creo using the processor Turbo? This is a co-workers new workstation, I'm going to ask him to run the creosite benchmark on it and on his old computer too. I just can't imagine this being an upgrade, but maybe I just need an education...not sure. The processor in our specific situation is a Xeon W3-2423 2.1 GHz base speed. My current workstation (~3 years old) uses a Xeon W-2223 @ 3.6 GHz base speed. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/233484/intel-xeon-w32423-processor-15m-cache-2-10-ghz/specifications.html
Sketch Inversion Problem I need some ideas on how to make this sketch robust so that it will not invert on me.I know this has been a long-time problem since the beginning of ProE.I would have thought this would have been solved by now. I’m working on creating a UDF for an arc slot.I also have a different UDF I’m working on for a pattern of these on a bolt circle pattern On the pattern I had a similar problem if I tried to use the start angle dim as the pattern angle. When I switched to an axis angle, the issue went away. Here is how my sketch is constructed. I’m having an issue with the sketch inverting when I exceed a certain dimension on the start angle.I know this is a bit extreme for the start angle, but I’m trying to exercise the sketch to make sure it works in all cases. At 126 degrees for the start angle the rounds on the end of the slot invert. However, if the slot angle is increased at some point, it fixes itself and I can i
I think Advance sweep features are powerful and well controlled compared to cabling. Having said that, why was Cabling application created. All features could have been added to sweep feature menu. Mainly I think it is just the flattening of harness. why to make it so complex instead keeping it simple with advance sweep and curves?
we are using Creo Design Engineering Package. We are facing an issue, while saving file with some changes or even creating a new file, software program is not creating "Numerical Control" (NC) for machine. We are first time user and not familiar to this software. Kindly support us in this regard asap. Regards
Hi All, Recently I replaced my graphics card for a Nvidia RTX 4000 card. Since then Creo (8.0) tends to crash way more often. At first I had my doubts whether Creo is using the card or grabs back to the onboard card but in Creo the system information tells me it is using the RTX card. Any idea how I can figure out what causes this crashes? Is it coming from Creo or could it be the card itself? Thanks in advance!Bart
Hello all, I want to know how to define ProAsmComppath used in ProSelectionAlloc for a feature in skeleton used in assembly. I have feature ID for skeleton as 98 and in this skeleton I have a feature whose path I want to add has feature ID 3560. I saw in knowledge hub mentioned the method as {98,3560}. But when I try in ProSelectionAlloc to mention this way. It shows error How do I mention correct path in ProSelectionAlloc (). Thank You.
Executing a modal analysis for an assembly with several parts, an internal engine error occur and stop without any other notice.In .err file:------------------------------------------------------------Creo Simulate Structure Version Q-10-51:spgError ReportTue Jan 14, 2025 15:48:52------------------------------------------------------------An internal error has occurred in file elmpkdr.F, line 234.*** A fatal error has occurred. ***An internal engine error has occurred. I am trying to do a cable parameters export and then import the file back. Even though I try to import the exact same file back, the ProInputFileRead-call crashes Creo without error code. The whole of Creo just dies with a fatal error popup. I have tried to import the same file manually in the Cable Parameters window using and that works fine. ProError fileExportStatus = ProOutputFileMdlnameWrite(mdl, L"cable.cbl", PRO_CABLE_PARAMS_FILE, globalHarness, (ProAppData)wideString_c, NULL, NULL); ProError fileImportStatus = ProInputFileRead(mdl, L"cable.cbl", PRO_CABLE_PARAMS_FILE, globalHarness, (ProAppData)wideString_c, NULL, NULL);
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Date Code 7.0.8.0I need to export a 2d drawing to .dxf. The export works so far, but unfortunately a view outside the drawing frame is exported as well even I choose "all sheets as paper area" (translated from german). Is there a way to export just the sheet w/o outer elements? Thanks BR.
Iconic British designer Dame Vivienne Westwood set up her fashion brand in the 1970s, reflecting the rebellious spirit of the era and embracing punk and counterculture. I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.7.0When tangent edge line style is being changed to any other than default, using reset button or copying style from another tangent edge will not bring default style (thin continuous line), but it will set it to the line style of contours (wide continuous line) instead. The issue affects how drawing exported to PDF format looks like (line thicknesses).
Do you have any specific notes on the library components, saying that "This part is for graphical representation only. Detailed information should be available from the supplier"?
Hi all, Greetings!I need to automate export part/asm to STEP format with different options OR through different profile files in Creo. I checked Mapkey does not work. Anybody suggests how to do it? OR any API or batch files that can solve/work.
I can change the View in the Searchbox (File -> Open) of Parametric. So its possible to show also attributes instead of just the name. If i close Parametric and open the Searchbox again, Parametric will run with the default UI of the Searchbox and will show me just the Name again. How can i save this Setting. I tried it by saving the Customization_ui but it didnt work. Is it possible? If yes how can i save the setting?
When deleting a patterned part you get (2) options "Delete Pattern" and "Delete". If you are getting rid of the part completely, I have typically just chose "Delete". When this is done, the family table has a orphaned dimension left in the table for the quantity of the pattern. Why would the pattern quantity not be deleted also?
How do you resize the column widths in family table beside dragging the divider line in the header?
