Hello all, In pattern table the instance values are set using ProElementIntegerSet or ProElement DoubleSet(). But sometimes I want to ignore some Instances in pattern table by adding @ symbol in idx column. How can I set value to @ so that the instance is ignored and read as comment?
We have custom symbols that contain parameters that are associated to the active model when placed.is there a way to change the association with out having to recreate the symbol?
Hi,On a drawings, Is a straight forward way to change the line style for a selected body to e.g. Phantom transparent?I'm looking for something similar like changing styles via component display on an assembly drawing.
I have been able to create this geometry using patterns but I am trying to determine if Creo has the functionality to implement the geometry creation using the algorithm detailed below. This algorithm is simple and will yield the desired pattern but I am not seeing an automated way to reduce this to practice using Creo patterns. I have determined if a pattern will step out radially while also enabling incrementing of the # of members placed in 360 deg axial pattern it would work. There are additional relations that would need to be defined as a function of the hole sketch to ensure the automation but I am simplifying things here with some assumptions for the purpose of discussion. Does anyone see a way to implement this with one pattern ideally or at the most two? This of course assumes that the geometry is grouped and patterned to make each individual hole. For simplicity one could assume that the pattern would only drop points at the center of each hole on the surface to be cu
In our harness drawings, we have a table per connector with two repeat regions to display the refdes and the pinout info, kind of similar to HMX drawings. Is there a fast way to bring in multiple tables and "model/rep" them to the connectors automatically or something? Currently, we load from file, or copy and paste the number of pinout tables we need, then for each of the two repeat regions, we do a "model/rep" and select the connector. With large harnesses, we spend a LOT of time doing this. Thanks!Creo 9
So I searched for this issue:- Unable to edit sketch of the main featureand found articles pointing to disabling the web browser - and browser tabs. This didn't work. So what is strange is that I edited this same sketch a few hours ago, There are external references to a part within an assembly - but this never stopped me from editing the base sketch. I regenerated - tried removing as many external references from the part - except the base feature which I cannot edit. I tried editing the part/base feature sketch in the context of the assembly - it doesn't work. What happens is I selected sketch and edit - the screen sort of zooms and then nothing. This isn't due to this article:Article - CS352473 - Unable to modify dimension with a Double click in Sketcher when using Chromium as embedded browser in Creo Parametric (ptc.com)Even though I did turn off browser + tabs. Using CREO parametric 10.0.4.0 I saved files - exited and re-entered CREO - still doesn't work. I edited Co
How would I insert our company title block and revision block onto the default page view, or any view for that matter, of a part created in MBD? I'd like to avoid redrawing it as a note on each MBD part, and make the blocks editable as they are now on a regular drawing. Are there any instructions available?Thank you
We are looking for a way to place a table from a file and it's contents on a layer at the time of placement. Can this be done?

Hi, How do I drag dimensions while in edit mode like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRxBD-B5IrY&t=49s I attached a gif of me trying to drag sketch dimensions. it doesn't matter if dimensions are weak, strong or locked.I'm currently using Creo 8. thanks
Hi, I'm cleaning my config.pro file. It has very old options such as this one below which seems to be a hidden one. I didn't find anything related. Anyone knows what this option does ?
Hi all, I am on Creo Parametric 8.0.5.0. I am attempting to give a skeleton part a parameter, create published geometry of it, use copy geom in another part to pull in geometry and this parameter, and then display this parameter on the drawing in a pre-established repeat region. This needs to be done with as little adjustments to the top level part as possible. I've accomplished half of this so far by creating the parameter at the surface, body, or curve level of the skeleton part so it is included in the published geometry. When I pull the published geometry into a part using copy geom, the parameter appears in the part if I look at parameters at all sublevels of the part. However, the BOM repeat region that I am using uses mdl.param.name to find and add items with a certain prefix to the repeat region. I am assuming that it is reading parameters made at the part level NOT at feature, surface, etc level so it will not populate anything coming from the copy geom parameters si
Has anyone used Infor PLM with Creo? Our products are highly customizable. We are in a multi CAD environment. One location is using Inventor and Vault and the other location is using Creo and Windchill as PDM. We are using Infor CPQ that coordinates all our system (Sales, Engineering and ERP). We are looking for a full PLM solution. One of the possibilities is to change our CAD system to single vendor system either PTC or Autodesk. But that is not an easy process. We are still using our Engineering data that are more than 15 years old. Migrating them to a single CAD system will be a humongous task. We are thinking of leaving the CAD systems as they are and building a PLM solution that communicates well with our CPQ and ERP and integrates our CAD and PDM systems. Infor PLM is one of the contenders of our PLM solution among Windchill and Aras. Does it work seamlessly with Creo? Is it at par with Windchill? Any major issue or drawback that we need to be aware of?
Today, we're diving into the groundbreaking world of nano voxel, a company specializing in two photon polymerization, 3d printing technology, or in other words, 3d printing in miniature. They aim to transform micromanufacturing by replicating parts into silicon molds with unmatched precision. Our producer Aaron visited Nanovoxel's state of the art facilities to meet founder Domenico Foglia. Hear how their incredible feats of micromanufacturing can create a baby Yoda the size of a grain of sand, or an entire castle crafted on a pencil tip.
"Generally, the good practice in defining sketches/sections is to prefer constraints over dimensions, and to prefer surfaces as references over edges/vertices." This statement came from the PTC R&D team in the context of a discussion involving constraints of a sketch and the resultant feature. I was having difficulty capturing the design intent to produce the desired outcome in the geometry of the part. The desired result was achievable but only by implementing some unorthodox sketch constraints. The geometry is proprietary so I will not be posting it here. Has anyone had training on Creo since the intent manager has been deployed as the only sketch environment, and if so do you recall this paradigm from the training? Are there any other resources that explain in detail the algorithms in intent manager with examples of outliers and solutions? The closest thing I can find on PTC.com is a tutorial titled "Understand Construction Geometry Theory". &nbs
Hi everyone,I wanted to better understand the difference between the options Create and exclude shrinkwrap and Exclude and create Shrinkwrap (I attach image 1)It is indicated in the help but I did not understand it. Thanks,Matteo
Hi there, I have an odd "thing" in Creo and/or Windchill. When I create a new Object (like a Assembly) and I edit its parameters, the lifecycle state is set to "Released": only if I upload the file, the correct state is displayed: @unknown: Is this behavior intended or is this a bug? I am using Creo 10.0.5.0 with Windchill 12.0.2.19
Hello, I am a student in Mechanical Engineering and I am looking to make a so-called hypoidal pinion.I want this pinion to be parametric, I have already done 90% of the work but I am stuck.I am trying to find a curve that allows me to start from the top of the cone to a pitch circle where the tooth of my pinion is defined. This curve must have a BETA parameter that allows me to manage the inclination of the teeth. The problem is that my curve goes too far, and I don't know how to limit the h factor in my equation, as you can see here ->My curve must take into account the following parameters (I think):Spiral angle (β): This is the angle of the spiral of the tooth.Pressure angle (𝛼): This is the angle formed by the line of action with the transverse plane.Base radius (𝑟𝑏): This is the radius at the base (primitive) of the cone where the teeth begin.Module (𝑚): This is the measure that connects the distance between two consecutive teeth on the pitch circle.Taper angle (𝛾):
Hello, community! When I import a stl file, I have no way of knowing whether it is closed (other than the visual search for a green colored hole). Is there a simple way to ensure that the imported STL file is closed? I appreciate the responses in advance. Thanks
Hello, There was a function ProPtntbl_remove_instance() in Pro/Develop. What is the equivalent function for this to remove instance from Pattern Table using Toolkit. Thank You
Hi, im working on a university project and new to the whole top-down design game.I have already created a sketch and some datum planes in my skeleton model. (I have many variables, so there is a lot of references).Next, I have published some of the sketches as a publish-geometry, so i can use it as a sketch for my parts which will be part of my assembly. Now Ive got the problem that i just cant get the copied sketch to work like a normal sketch for revolving or extruding parts. I have already tried moving the copy-geometry around inside of my model tree (main assemby, subassembly, part), but the only way I could imagine using the copied sketch as a revolve/extrude sketch is by referencing every single line inside of my copied sketch and using it to make a new sketch, which just does not seem rigth. Sadly, I also cant find any tutorials on this specific problem, because everyone uses the copy-geometry feature for already existig parts and not sketches.Bonus question:
hi,I have creat a mapkey in the 3D model, but when I work in the 2D model, the mapkeys do not work,
I'm running Creo 9 and there is an option to merge bodies. Is that not possible in Creo 8? ----------------------------------- (Note from the Moderator: this question was a comment, moved from this Creo idea)
Is there a way to regenerate the part model and assembly using ModelCHECK SAVE mode? is there a way to confirm whether the model is regenerated or not?/ family table is verified or not?/relations is verified or not? using the ModelCHECK save mode.
Hi guys, some weeks ago we moved from onprem Atlassian Wiki Atlassian Cloud. To improve the user experience we implemented Microsoft oauth as SSO. This is working fine for all browsers but not for the embedded chromium in CREO 9. Here the browser always loses the cookies after starting a new creo session and the users have to re-login with MFA...Has anyone out there a similar experience or any hint for a solution? Thanks for your suggestions.
