Hello,   We're developing an application for creo that uses the pfcls vb api. We need support for multiple version of creo and what I've observed is that each major version of Creo (>X<.y.y.y X=major version) requires its own pfcls assembly (.dll).    Is this true?    Thanks

In my company, from last year I had to work on different workstations, based on their availability after shifts. And it can be hard for anyone, who has different files and folders in his dedicated system. In an organization, work files and folders can be neglected for some extent when you work in PLM and you have different logins to store the files from the network folders. You can access them from any device, anytime.   But when you have your software settings in your system, you will feel the real pain of migrating to new system, so did I. After studying the customizations storage path, I have learnt that I can avoid this UI gap in other systems in a simple way. I have made a short video on this. Please check this out.   In todays situation, when we are working remotely from system to system, we can definitely go mobile with UI and be more productive as we are on our own system.  What is take on this, please share in the comments.

I'm a little off the path on this program so bear with me... Everything I am doing is happening in unmanned batch mode using toolkit. I am importing Step model assemblies into session, not linked to Windchill. I am then linking to Windchill while keeping these objects in session.   Objects with the same names as these just imported already exist in Winchill as placeholders.  These placeholders are .asm files that only contain a csys, and they are assembled into this master assy, using Csys contraints. (one simple constraint). Result is the assembly has these imported step files assembled in place to csys.Issue is, Creo realizes the component csys is not the same. So what I am looking to do is fix the component constraint, basically redefine.  ive read up on TK assembly, there is a lot there to grasp, and have studied the UG constraints.c sample. If I use the Properties UI to set a dimension2D as a Basic dimension how then can I find this Basic Dimension2D using the jlink API?   As an example, if a Dimension2D is set to be a Reference dimension then i can use the Dimension2D.GetIsReference() method to find Reference dimension.   I can not find an equivalent function for Basic dimensions, but i can imagine that i am not looking for it properly.   Any suggestions?   Tnx in advance!   johnu   Tnx! johnu 

Is there any way to set the location of the main window on the screen?  For some reason, when I launch Creo (4), the window opens in a location that is below & to the right of the top left corner of the screen like all my co-workers.  I have to move it up & against the left/top edges of the screen every time.  When I open another part, that new window also pops open in the lower offset location and must be moved.   I have tried deleting my config.pro & creo_parametric_customization.ui files and it makes no change (any combination or both).  I have gone to File > Options and tried to make changes there.  I have tried Window Settings: Restore Defaults.  I have tried to move it into the correct location & export the .ui & create a new .ui for my launch point.  Nothing changes this.     Even setting the config.pro option to open maximized has the window open full width to the screen, but still located down the sa

Recently a customer has replaced an old HP Designjet 5500PS plotter for a new HP Designjet T1700 plotter. Plotting from Creo 4.0 in the old plotter had no problems but with the new one the lines are very faint and some of them even vanished (as can be seen in the attached image). Plotting from PDF has no problems on both plotters.   Anyone using the same plotter or experiencing the same problems?

My program involves automated configuration of assemblies.  I am exporting the results as STEP files using ProIntf3DFileWrite.   The 5th argument is reference Csys,  a ProSlection, This argument takes NULL for default csys, but I need a specific csys in my case for future assembly of the step file.    My program runs non-interactively, so there is no one selecting the csys.   I know the name of the Csys and have code where I am successfully finding and obtaining  the handle.    What I cannot seem to figure out is how to convert this csys handle to a Pro Selection.  Any ideas?   Thanks!

I want to do some automated Tasks in Creo controlled by a python script.   I prefer a simple solution without the need of extra Software (creoson / creopyson).   What works is to start Creo with a Batch file or from cmd with the Trail-file. (parametric.exe .psf Trail.txt) But when I start Creo like this from within python, the Trail file is ignored. I don't know why.   I use the external Analysis and .csv files to change Parameters and get measurements. The csv-files are read/written with the python script.   Is there something in Creo, which blocks the Trail-file when started from python? Hi,   Can anyone help me out and point me in the direction of some information about how to use the GUI components in Toolkit?I want to create a dynamic list box (contents of the list box is different depending on what the user does).I was hoping to figure out how to create a list box when I compiled the example "pt_userguide" that is one of the "examples" that PTC has provided in the installation.However the dialog which shows a list box is just loaded from a resource file (as can be seen in UgUITables.c) and that is all it does so this isn't helping.Is there a decent description somewhere of the API's that are used to create GUI components?Any help would be very much appreciated.   Best regards,        John Bijnens

Good morning everyone.  I'm having serious troubles excluding sketches being added to a layer via rules by name. For this layer I want to add all sketches which don't include the following name *Draft*. When I setup the layer rules as shown, noting is added to the layer:       If I setup the layer to include based on the name it works as expected.      Any thoughts why this is happening when I am excluding based on name? This method works without any issues collecting datums; however, it breaks when working with sketches.    Thanks!

Hi, i'm new on CREO (3 month). new job new company. i used to work on different software to create 3D harnesses. i have an issue today regarding Harness Mfg. we just got the licence i try to flatten simple harness. it work (sometime) but when i want to use a component to route my harness sometime it will work and sometime i got the following message: Unsupported Axial Topology when i remove the component from the path it will be ok, but i use the same component  somewhere else and it is working fine so i don't understand what is happening. i think the part i use to route the wire is created properly as it is working fine somewhere else if someone has an idea i will appreciate.
