Dear all,When using the roughing sequence to rough a pocket I see there is no option to enter a plunge feed.When using an end mill this is essential in order not to damage the flutes.I've tried entering a ramp speed and specify explicitly a ramp angle of 90° (which is the default setting).This has no effect on the resulting toolpath. The only feed applied is the default cut_feed.The volume rough sequence does have this option but I can't use that sequence for this particular toolpath.Is it possible to specify a plunge feed with the roughing sequence ?   John   KU Leuven - Technology campus Diepenbeek

Hi,I'm here for a little problem with Creo 2.0 in Manufacturing->NC AssemblyAfter the creation of all the functions, I generate a .ncl file.But the creation of the .ncl file take to much time (sometimes 10h)During this time I look in the system monitor, and I see only one core work on the 8.Can I use more cores to generate the .ncl faster ?TanksThomas

in EMX, when deleting the ejector pins or any other components, the related section views are getting deleted with out any warning. I understand that creating section views without relating to EMX components will do. But is there any other method to avoid this. It will be great help because randomly I am creating new section views after removal of EMX components.

I am trying to implement thread mills into Creo negating the need to use a code generator from the manufacturer, so that code can be reliably posted from the manufacturing model.I am having troubles setting the depth of the NPT, as there seems to be no "thread length" in the parameters, or depth option. I am not completely sure, but this depth appears to be controlled by entering the number of teeth on the cutter, in the "flute" field of the tool information.  This seems like a very odd way of controlling depth, is it how it is done?The code generated when doing an NPT thread mill is many lines of point movement rather than a few lines of canned cycle.  There is no G03 movements output at all, and this makes for a very awkward and VERY long program, any workarounds?Placement of the thread when choosing start and end.  I am having problems with the placement of the thread, I have attached screenshot to help explain.In this demonstration, I have made a sample part that is

When I insert parts from EMX and I hereafter open the parts, the datums are always hidden in layers. In the layer its called 00_buw_datum. QST: Why are these datums always hidden. Everytime i import a part and i want to use the predefined datumplanes, I have to unhide and save status afterwards. Is there a way for these datums to always be visible? Thanks. Clement

Some customers have reported problems when trying to use EMX the first time after they have installed it. Usually the functions "Project> Create New" cause a crash OR "Administrator Tools > Options" show empty sheets.   In this case, please check the content of the folder <emx_install>/configuration. If you see only this files: the most important files to run EMX are missing. They are shown here: This are localized files that should be created by EMX when starting it the first time. Since MS Windows 8 the handling of Administrator rights for the folder "C:\Program Files" is rather restrictive, therefore EMX is not allowed to generate this important files!   To solve this problem, either make sure you have 100% administrator rights for this folder OR install EMX into a different directory.

Hi everybody,Does anybody know how to eliminate the transparency on plates created in assembly definition?Within EMX options - Technology - Face color :I believe that this is the place to define the colors on the various plates.BUT i cannot set the transparency!... Where can we find the file that explains whats new and improved for EMX 10?  What is the significance of F000 vs M000 for the build number? 

Is there a way, other than inserting a CL command in Tool Motion, to force each sequence to force out ROTATE even if it does not need to move? I'm trying to do it with my post, but I get the last rotation or a double rotation. By using the CL command, I have to put warning comments if anyone else tries to resequence anything.

Hello,   due to a customers question I will explain how you can set up a custom Drop-Down selection in the BOM or in the Edit BOM Entry dialog.   In some cases it makes sense to restrict the user to a list of given values when he is working with the EMX BOM. Use the EMX feature sel_list.txt to define lists of values for EMX parameters.   1.  Set up an example parameter in EMX Options with a name DROPDOWN_EXAMPLE and make sure it is aof type STRING and Show in Table and Show in Dialog is e set to YES 2. Create a new project and assemble a couple of components. Opoen the BOM Dialog. The parameter is added to all Components. 3. Now go to the <emx_install>/configuration folder and find the file sel_list.txt and open it with an text editor. Change the content as seen below. It is important to add a # hastag in front of the parameter name. the following lines will be the list values.In this case EXAMPLE_1, EXAMPLE_2 etc. 4. Save your project and restart EMX now.

I have been working with Pro since version 12. Over the last 25 years I have used several parallel CAD systems, I trialled Solidworks, run Catia etc yet never left the PTC fold. But I yet again find myself railing at PTC lag and apparent indifference to market conditions. This is why.   We design and often machine prototypes, or 3d print, or cnc turn, or even laser cut.  They all start from data that I generate from Creo4. But there it stops.   There was much fuss made about new 3d printing functionality in Creo 4. Hopes dashed, my 2 year old Stratsys Object 30 prime is not supported.  There was me thinking PTC were wising up - maybe I can avoid the clunky interface of the Objet software. No of course not, PTC add 3d printing but only include drivers for the very top of the range printers.   When I need to CNC I get most concerned. I am increasingly using Fusion 360 to do cutter paths and slowly learning its interface and enjoying the integration between CAD, C

Hello,I and setting up a post for a Leadwell V-60i and need to set the Tool as modal. When I set this option in the Tool Change Sequence output options to "T-code is modal" it will stop posting the T code but still posts an M06.How can I set up my post not to post an M06 when the T code is modal?Does any one have a post for this machine that they can share?Mike

Hello community,   due to a customer question I decided to write a short blog entry about setting up custom BOM Names in the EMX Options   In EMX 9 m023 the concal screw bom name is marked as Set screw. please let me know how to correct it as csk screw.thanks…   In EMX every component template file comes with a defined BOM Name. In my example I will talk about the screw from supplier Meusburger with an order number E1200. The template file for this screw is called screw_e1200.   If you open the EMX Options   an switch to the tab Part Names you will find a table with all templates use for EMX components.   In my example the BOM Name for the template file screw_e1200 is called SHC*Screw. The * will later be replateced with a space character. In this dialog you can set up any kind of description that you need for your mold.   If we now open the Screw dialog and switch to the E1200 screw from Meusburger you will find this BOM Name in the BOM Data. Many EMX users show the BOM Parameters in their modeltree for easy editing. This can cause troubles as EMX does not consider manually overwritten parameters. So the internal EMX parameter values will be used to overwrite such modified parameters when using EMX BOM functionality. Here is the best practice tipp to avoid such problems:   As an example the odering number of a Meusburger guide bushing will be used. The parameter name ORD_NUMBER for this ordering number is specified in EMX Options > Parameter: Here you see the paramerter ORD_NUMBER and the component parameter BUW_ORD_NUMBER displayed as extra columns in the modeltree. The content of BUW_ORD_NUMBER is maintained by EMX and must not be modified. If you edit the content of ORD_NUMBER now, EMX does not know baout it and will reset the value to the content of BUW_ORD_NUMBER automatically. Hello,   due to a users question I will show you how you can use the Mouse Pick Points Feature to create points on the fly when defining an EMX component.   On the fly point creation in EMX   In my example I will create 4 support pillars. Generally, the Mouse Pick Points feature can also be used for other components.   1. Define a new support pillar from the EMX Ribbon. 2. It is important that you preselect the correct planes for the component, otherwise EMX will give you a warning. When selecting both planes for the support pillar correctly, the distance between the plane is meausred and a valid instance will be preselected. 3. Now you can select the Mouse Pick Points feature. EMX rotates the view and you can start creating point on the fly. Leave with Middle Mouse Button and click OK.   The support pillars are going to be created based on the picked points. Hi,A (very) long while since I did this but none the less a useful method. I used to do it in Independent and wanted use the method in Creo but can't.A geometrically symmetric model but the loads are not. We want to reduce the model size by exploiting the symmetry of the geometry.Conclusion - we can't, run the full model.Alternative - add the symmetric and anti-symmetric results (superposition).Independent Method - run 2 models1. With symmetry boundary condition & symmetric part of the load2. With anti-symmetric boundary condition & anti-symmetric part of the load3. Add the results in the post processor by:4. Manually copying the result files from 2. into 1.5. Reopening the model for 1 and selecting 2 loadsets which invoked the 'combine' function in the post processor when opening the results for 1.In other words, we fool the post processor. Hi,When we place a ejector, usually we trim it by molding surfaces. In BOM we have to show the trimmed length of the ejector.For example:Original Ord_number: Z41x12x200Changed Ord_number: Z41x12x200 (189.90)Is it possible to somehow add the final length of the ejector to the Bom?
