Our school system just purchased us a Tormach PCNC 1100  Mill and a Slant 15 Lathe.  The controllers for this equipment only accepts G-Code   We're new to PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 (3 years) - We've worked through the Manufacturing design tool to generate an NCL file, but we don't know how to get the G Code necessary to mill the object. After programming a part, I always make a workshop document to show how to do the work. In some specific cases I have to display the tool path on the document. But sometimes, there is more than one view. Is it possible to choose on which view to display the toolpath ?In fact, it displays by default the tool path on the first view created on the drawing.For example, on the view below I would like to show the tool path on the bottom view. But I created the bottom view after the top view. For the moment as a work around, I can delete the first view, display the toolpath on the bottom view, then create again the top view. Hello,  I hope you lovely people don’t mind me asking a question. So I would love to engrave a photo on a block of Al, but the problem I’m having at the moment is how to get a vector photo (i don’t know what is the correct name) into Creo (2.0 version). I would love some advice on how to solve this problem. P.S. Sorry for the bad language, English isn’t my first language and I’m only in high school. Cheers from Slovenija.

In a large assembly, from a project that was concluded in manufacturing some time ago. I need to do some changes. The regeneration times are not acceptable for the time I have to do the job.   I pretend to get "dumb solids", get the geometry whithout features. I was able to do this exporting to neutral and reimporting. Doing this I kept: Geometry, anotations, parameters, layers and datums. So older versions of Pro-E you could specify a different color for areas that were removed material. For example I have a casting and that is one color (say purple) but when I make a machining of that casting anywhere I removed material would be a different color (say yellow) so I'd have a purple part with areas of yellow that showed where a machining operation was done.However, I cannot find how to do this in CREO can anyone help?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I am learning Creo NC(milling) and have run into an issue. When the following situation occurs, it will omit the "G1" causing the tool to enter the next cut at rapid instead of feed. Not good. It appears to be tied to using the parameter value for "free_feed" to anything other than "0"Here is a code example and more info below it explaining the details.If a new sequence is created where the tool repeats, is using “free_feed = 500” or any value other than zero and follows a previous sequence that posts out a “G0” rapid move, then it does not post out a “G1” with the first linear feed move. It will omit it the “G1” and enter the cut in Rapid. If you set the “free_feed = 0” in the constant load vol mill it will then output the “G1” correctly. This will not resolve the problem because the tool then moves in “G0” rapid during the retract tool motions risking damage to the tool and workpiece. The only solution I have found is to set the post to handle the “G1” as non-modal. This resolves the

I use solid tools to simulate G code in a full blown seat of Vericut.  I have a solid tool in Creo that is giving me a problem.  The tool design is a 3/8 bull nose end mill with a .06 radius.  When I run the tool path in Creo the tool stays away from drive surface as if it were a regular end mill.  It has been a long time since I have try to setup a solid tool.  Who out there can tell me how to setup a solid tool?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. Hello,I am a highschool robotics team captain, and my team is getting parts cnc'd that I designed in CREO Parametric 3.0. The milling company has requested to have the measurements 2d blueprint style, instead of the dxf, so that they can machine it differently. (less paths using their own generated file.) Is there any way to get a 2d picture of the 3d model with all the measurements, without going into every sketch and recording the measurements? Unfortunately I have a feature I simply can not figure out how to model in Creo, and I would prefer not to model it in solidworks (which can easily create this feature) and then import to creo.The feature is a cut on a planar surface (call it X-Y plane for datuming purposes) generated by a 5/16 diameter , 0.06 radius tipped end mill moving in an arc defined from the tip center of the tool.  the arc is in the X-Z plane and the tool stays parallel to Z while traversing the arc.I can not figure out how to create the feature correctly.  It must be correct for FEA analysis, and has been vetted by experiment to be vastly superior to our older geometry for making similar features, otherwise I would just use different geometry.Any tutorials (I could not find any) or tips to create this geometry?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I know that some of you have begun playing around with the new functionality in PTC Creo 3.0 M040. And some questions are coming up about how it works, who gets access and what enhancements are coming out next.   Unfortunately I don’t have answers on the last part. Every time I try to post I get a "post processor fails" message. I was getting it last night but it went away after resetting my machine. Well its back tonight. I have tried other programs that I know work and have even tried on a different machine and it fails on everything. We have purchased and started using IMSpost and would like to change the load point when clicking on "Post a CL File" to IMS instead of Gpost. The draft analysis feature was designed to be intuitive so that you can make analyzing your molded parts a part of your regular design process. Mold Analysis Lite was integrated into Creo 3. PTC dropped Plastics Advisor after Wildfire 5, I think. I was happy to see it back because in the initial phases of a design I just want to look at fill patterns as related to feature sizes, but PTC has really crippled the mold analysis lite. The Lite feature list indicates materials as 10 and gates as 1. The aspect that is not clear is you can't move or redefine the one gate. You literally get one try to define a gate. If you want to move it or change its size, you have to quit and start over. Then on top of that, you can't customize the material beyond the 10 candidates they give you.
