Mathcad

Does anyone else have the problem where the print quality of the chart components is abysmal?   When I print my Mathcad worksheets to .pdf the text and maths comes out great but the charts look a jpeg that has been saved 1000 times on Windows XP.

Hello,,, I  have the version 3.0 Prime (paid for this version while a study at the university). I got some interesting sheets that were apparently made in prime 5.0 version, so I can't open them in my version. I know is impossible to change it, because my version is older wich is ok, I just want to see the content as PDF and then I can rewrite it all. to allI am playing around with what is known as 'Frequency Response Assurance Criteria' (FRAC). I have attached an example  with some refI understand that the Freq. Response Function (FRF), noted H(w) is a complex function containing magnitude and phase informationIf one has got magnitude and phase info (at each frequency) (from a physical test) does one need to create a complex equivalent of the data to apply the criteria (A*exp(iw+phase)) ?In the case of the analytical data (FRF) I am not sure I can get the phase (but will need to check) as it is from a random analysisI found an example of a FRAC equation involving sum, see attached, assuming it is correct (not sure it is!), how does one "code" the sum? I did it but it look wrong. I interpreted the equation as calculating a FRAC value in a range w1 to w2. I f guess if one plots it one can see the "evolution" of the FRACThe example attached contains dummy vectors. I'll need to see if I can put my hand on "real" dataThanksRegards

I downloaded this application on to my computer ~1 year ago and used it fairly frequently.  I have just had a hard drive failure and have been trying to re-load everything, including this.  I go on to the website, fill out all the required information and submit.  It says I will get an e-mail with a link to allow me to download the application, but nothing comes.  I have tried the chat line and sending an e-mail to the address given - but nothing happens. Does anyone know what is going on?

I must be stupid.  I can't figure out how to add axis labels to an X-Y plot in Prime 5.  I found a new features post from a little while back that mentions the capability, but no hint of how to turn them on.  Nothing obvious in the software help either.  Can some kind soul steer me in the right direction?

Hi folks,   I am trying to solve a second order differential equation in Mathcad 15 to model the diffusion of a substrate in a spherical pellet. Regrettably, Odesolve gives me the following message: 'This function cannot be used here' (see attached file). I have tried to rearrange the equation in different forms to see if that helped, but I still have the same problem. Do you know how can I solve the issue?    Best, Daniela

Hi, I'm a student and am unable to locate the Mathcad Prime license required to dual authorize the Mathcad 15 program. Per PTC instructions this file is "MathcadPrimeLicense.dat" in "C:\ProgramData\PTC\Mathcad Prime\license\directory" and similarly in forum discussions has been listed as "C:\ProgramData\PTC\Mathcad Prime\license\MathcadLicense.dat". Presently, althought I have successfully licensed Mathcad Prime, there is no "*license.dat" file that I can locate on my computer and the only files under the "C:\ProgramData\PTC..." directory are "Windchill sharepoint products" and 'PTC places NamespaceShellExtension". All other files reside directly under the "C:\ProgramData\Mathcad..." directory, but, nowhere can I find the license file.I purchased an HP Laptop with Windows 8 just yesterday (subsequently upgraded to the Win8 "pro" version) specifically to run Mathcad for a class. I have homework due soon, so, any help I can get in getting Mathcad 15 running would be most appreciated.Than

Hi, I am trying to solve a beam bending problem. My end goal is to solve a problem with more complexity, but for now I have simplified it so that I can make sure I understand how to use MathCAD. See the sketch below. I have a cantilever beam, supported on the left (at x0=0) it extends to x1. The Support reaction loads can be described as M0 and R0 which I am trying to solve for. The end of the beam is being deflected by Y1.   I have set up a solve block in MathCAD (Prime 2.0) as such:   But I get all sorts of errors. I've been reading about different solving methods including odesolve (I guess this could be seen as a really simple ODE, as well as symbolic calculation, but I haven't gotten any to work! I did it, but don't know how to get the function.    I attached a file with my experiments.  @ValeryOchkov maybe you can help me?   I am a newbie in Mathcad Prime, so please help me how to find the analytical function F(x,y) according to that data. Hi there,   I have the equation below which Vout and Io are variables and I need to isolate Vout from the right side of the formula, but the function is too large to display.     I could manually isolate Vout, but I found a third order equation that again MathCad could not solve...    The problem is that I have two variables, Vout and Io and I have to plot a graph of Vout/Vin in function of Io.

Find the maximum value from a list of data and  also the value that results in the maximum data.   I have attached a mathcad prime 5 file and pic if you dont have Prime 5

If you have nested range variables, which loop gets executed fastest? For example in the following the trace indicates the inner loop gets executed fastest, but if you swap the a and b lines, the outer loop loop now seems to be executed fastest???

If it isn't obvious from my subject, I'm using Prime 5.  I've run into a few issues where a partial derivative will incorrectly evaluate both symbolically and numerically as 0.  I've attached two files, both are pretty stripped down just to illustrate what I'm seeing.    The first, derivative_error.mcdx, illustrates the issue with a fairly simple example. You can see that the derivatives with respect to the first two variables are correct but the last three evaluate to 0.   In the second file, derivative_error2.mcdx, all I did was rename essentially everything and the issue magically disappeared.  This has been my only method around this issue to-date.  Move a piece of my work to a different file, play with variable names, eventually things start working.  I've never been able to fix the issue in my original file though.     I've searched this forum quite a bit and haven't seen a similar issue.  I'm either doing something real

Hi,   I'm new to mathcad and I'm sure this is an easy thing to do but I can't for the life of me figure it out from documentation and existing threads.   All I'm trying to do is simplify the results of a symbolic evaluation. Right now, MathCAD is returning this:   It's pretty obvious that the RHS is equal to 5.758*F0/in^2. There must be a way to get MathCAD to return this simplified form of the expression, right? Can somebody please show me how to do that?   Similarly, I have another expression in which MathCAD expresses units as in^2*psi.   It would sure be nice to display those units as lbf. Does anybody know how to do that?   Thank you!

Hello all   I'm trying to get the indices of values in a vector that are less than or equal to a threshold value. From the documentation, it seems that I should use match(threshold, vector, "leq") but this gives the error "This function accepts at most 2 arguments but is applied to 3". The relevant code snippet is below.   I've looked at the docs and forums but can't find any code examples using the third argument as specified in the docs. I've tried "leq" with and without the quotes.   I would really appreciate any help! What am I doing wrong?  

Hello. I am trying to extract values from a matrix according to certain restrictions, with no success! In the file attached is the attempt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

See please here Mice problem about this task! You can see in attach a Mathcad 15 file with solution of this problem. But I think that will be better to use not a X-Y system but a Polar system of coordinate - for the calculation and for the plotting - not only for 4 animals but for 3, 5, 6 etc. Help me please!
