Mathcad

My knowledge of Mathcad is limited. Im trying to pass an example of a Mass Transfer book, for some reason is not working. Please help.

The idea is as follow,When an engineer needs to perform a certain type of calculation, he or she will open a MathCAD template and select the appropriate material and temperature at which he or she wants to perform a certain type of calculation.MathCAD should then identify the correct cell in excel and return into MathCAD the correct value.The idea is to have two loops.  One to identify which raw.  eg if I select Mat3,  the program will check in Column A and start with the first cell.  Does A2 = Mat3 ? Hello,I seem to be having an issue regarding if/then statements in regards to Mathcad not recognizing my the initial "if" statement due to an error in my "else if" statement.When x does not equal 0, I get an answer.However, when x does equal 0, I get "can't divide by zero" error, and the program does not recognize that the first statement is true an should report the respective value.Is there anyway to get around the zero in the denominator error? I know it's probably an easy fix, but I can't figure it out. Anyone have any ideas?Thanks,C

Hi All,I want to change automatically with the Function "Suchen und Ersetzen" the variable my_f by my_o in a worksheet.This is a quick example:I can do what i want but th Funktion does not replace the variables.I'm running MCP4.0 latest Version and i had the same problem when running MCP3.1.Platform is Windows 10Has anybody the same problem?Or is it again a typical saving of PTC to save development costs?Thank you for your efforts!Volker

Hello again friends,I have what is hopefully a simple headache in integration.I am looking at the below and attached.In yellow is the integral I am trying to work out manually as I need to be able to do this in a manual way. I have tried a 'nifty' short cut in red but this is way off.Then I have tried integrating without the upper and lower limits of the integral by rearranging, expanding the brackets, then integrating. Then replacing z for -T and resolving. Although this gives me an answer with a extra 5 in the numerator?Any ideas where I am going wrong?A

In MathCAD 14 I am attempting to find the maximum absolute value in a vector that contains positive and negative numbers. With only positve numbers in the vector this works to determine the maximum value: max(vector)=With positive and negative values I have tried putting the vector in absolute value bars within the max function like this:max([vector])=but the answer is strange and is larger than the aboslute value of any of the entrys in the vector (maybe it's finding the determinant?).How can a command be written to find the maximum of all the absolute values in a vector?

Hi,   I have a question to solve a DAE-system of a chemical reactor. In the picture you can see a minimal example. Its a simple reaction A to B with a first order kinetic multiplicated with an arhenius equation and an empirical pressure factor. To solve the DGL system, I have to predict the pressure p, wich depends on the mol fractions and temperatur. So this is my algebraic equation. This equation is combined with a DGL of the energy balance and two mass balnce. How can I solve such a system? With the example of mathcad, i can't solve this. Is there a simple way or standard method? I want to solve the system with RADAU so i have to built the vector function D. How i have to implement the pressure equation?   Thanks for your help

To simplify a project where multiple steel frames are being designed I've incorporated the use of "include worksheet" in MathCAD prime 3.1All the worksheets include a worksheet that has basic quantities calculated, like a parent - multiple child relationship. I've now tried to have one of the child worksheets include another child worksheet and I get the errors in the attached image. Reloading the worksheet has eliminated the green error but the red error persists. The included worksheet has no errors. Are there any limitations to including worksheets that would not allow this include to work?

Hi,May I ask some help to improve my spreadsheet that will satisfy all conditions. Sometime the  utilization  of the bending moment is greater than 1 from  my initial profile selections. Hello dear community !   Results of sign function in the attached worksheet are quite tricky. When calculations for a root under the argument of sign function are done only with integers the result is always like expected, i. e. 0 ? Why this behavior ?  Binary representation of numbers in numeric engine of Mcd...? I'd have wished a more consistent implementation of sign function, for example in agreement with the precision given by TOL or of the symbolic calculus (like in Mcd2001), or without differences between integers and rational (real) numbers... Same behavior in Mcd Prime ? I've used this function for roots testing in a program and I was surprised to discover that thus I missed some, like in the case of p30f in attached, where the output of sign is not 0 (zero), as expected for a root of the polynomial in sign argument. Hi Every oneIn MathCAD 15 I was able to use vlookup referred to the tables inside the worksheetbecause any table has a specific name but because in Mathcad Prime there is no name related to table I can not do that at allI do know How to can do the the same in Prime without using excelI do not like using excel entire worksheet because every time you have to double click on it & going to another program in fact , it is also take unnecessarily time,It would be your kind if you find any solution in this regards except using Matrix

Hello,could someone advise how to interconnect external data with spline points?I generate coordinates in my external program .I use matlab now but can write code in anything. I want to drive spline points with this coordinates. I know I can save the coordinates to file and load in creo during editing the spline but this is not what I need. I would like at least the creo to read the file automatically during regeneration. Another possibility is to create program in mathcad and exchange data with parameters. There is problem the number of points change. Is it possible to use the spline from mathcad as geometry in creo?Are there any other ideas?(in Creo 3)Thanks, best regardsmichal

How do you frame the header and footer in Mathcad prime? In Mathcad 15 there is a box that you can check off. I don't find anything like that in Prime.

Hi guys,I have a quastion. I give you an minimal example. I want to solve a ODE-system with the Radau-Solver. Therefore I need to build the derivate B to component X_2. In the picture you can see, that i can write only X. How can i build this derivate? I know the derivate ist X_1+X_2, but in my real problem i have a big equation-system with many function in another function. So i need a practical solution like  d/dX_2(X_1+X_0*X_2). Can someone help me?
