hi all, i'm using prime 2. when i smooth some data with the movavg function, the resulting data is offset by the size of the smoothing window. in fact, even the helpcenter example on using moving average to smooth data shows this resulting offset! but with no comment. attached.is this a bug or am i using movavg wrong?
I only want to run Mathcad 15 (I am running a free trial version). My question is : PTC has only mathcad 15 version to sellor I have to buy all included version Mathcad Professional?
I just installed Mathcad 15 and I also bought Roarks worksheets from PTC installed in my computer. But all XMCD files in folder shown as Adobe , i can't open them when I click them, and I only open them in Mathcad 15 environment. I want to open them directly when I click a XMCD file, how can I do?Thanks,Ling
Hello dear PTC community,I am very new in MathCad and strugle with it a lot.If someone could help me to create table to calculate Total K like it is in attached excel file I will be very grateful! Many Thanx in advance!
In reference to this document: Minerr/nonlinear optimizingYour equation for Function is wrong. For a least squares fit the error function should be the square root of the sum of the squares (or just the sum of the squares). You have the sum of the square root of the squares, which is equivalent to the sum of the absolute values. See my Function2 for the correct error function.Having said that, the best way to fit a function to experimental data is to create a function that generates the vector of residuals: see my Function3. Feed that directly to minerr, and use the Levenberg-Marquardt option.Minimizing Function gives an error (i.e. Function2) of 1721, 311, or 133, depending on the algorithm usedMinimizing Function2 gives an error (i.e. Function2) of 1628, 109, or 100, depending on the algorithm usedMinimizing Function3 using the LM algorithm gives an error (i.e. Function2) of 261I'm not sure why the last option does not give an error as low as a couple of the other options, except to
We have purchase matchcad v15 few years ago. The supplier send us the following guide last time with the host id. We are trying to transfer it to a new pc now but it says host id doesn't match.First, you need to unzip the license.txt file and save into a folder as Mathcad 15. ( You can use the Mathcad 15 CD to install. ) Prior to installation, client ensure the pre requisite of MSFramework .net is install in the computer. It is a free software from MS site if they dont have. Upon installation, please click on Mathcad Icon. It will ask you to choose license. It is NODE Locked. And choose Browse, and browse to the license folder whereby you save the license.txt file It will take a min to verify and will work.Pls advise Thank you

I am using Odesolve to solve a system of ODE's with a boxcar forcing function that starts at 1 goes to 10 and and I would like to return to 1. If I set the return value at 1.5, everything is fine. I I reduce it to, say, 1.2 I get the (to me, cryptic) error "The return value of this function must match the problem size." (see attached worksheet). Can someone help me out.
Hi,I open a document and all the images inserted are showing under the text, not where they were originally inserted. All my colleagues dont have that issue when they open the same document !?Michel
Hello,Today there was a new release of Mathcad Prime 3.1. And here is a list of major new features:Application Programming Interface (API): You can use PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 to create integrations with third-party tools and to automate processes. Connectivity with Third-Party Tools: Use a selection of PTC written custom functions to integrate with external tools.Engineering Notebook Powered by PTC Mathcad: For PTC Creo Parametric 3.0 M030 and later, you can embed a PTC Mathcad worksheet directly within a PTC Creo Parametricpart or assembly. Hi,I have a cylinder defined as follows:and I would like to rotate it around the z-axis and represent it in a 3d graph. How can I do it in Mathcad 15?Thanks in advance,Enrique
I have a customer who is trying to transfer his Mathcad 15.0 from one computer to another. When I try to return the license from the computer that is registered, the option to deactivate is greyed out. I have disabled all firewalls. Am I missing a step? Thanks,Nick
Hi, does anyone know how to use a root hanning window within the coherence function of the signal processing extension pack ?I am using Mathcad14.Peter
Goodmorning everyone. As AUTOCAD user (the latest version that I use is the 2000) for several decades, I would like to know if it is possible an interaction between AutoCAD2000-mathcad-prime-3.1 or mathcad 15.Thanks for your kind attentionWith best regardsFM
How would you do this "If" and "Otherwise" operation in Mathcad Prime 3.1? have no idea what command to use or how to start it.b= 0.85 if f'c=4000 psi 1.05-0.05*f'c/a000 psi if 4000 psi < f'c 8000 psi 0.65 otherwiseplease see attachment.
I am writing a program to calculate principal stresses from stress tensors. The principal stresses are defined by a cubic equation. The invariants (coefficients) of the cubic equation are calculated from stress tensors. The stress tensors are first read into Mathcad from a multi-row file of stress tensors. Each row represents a state of stress at a node in a finite element model. There are six stress tensors for each row in the file. I am able to read the file row by row and assign the stress tensors to a matrix. From the stress tensor matrix I am able to calculate the invariants (there are three invariants , I1, I2 and I3, plus a constant term, I0, for each row of tensors) and assign each invariant to a separate vector having as many rows as nodes of interest. What I have not yet been able to do is calculate the three roots of the cubic equation that define the principal stresses and output a matrix populated with the results by looping throug
Hello everyone, I have this problem with mathcad-prime-3.1: I import data, with the use of READEXCEL, from a file with extension .xlsx. I made some changes in the argument of READEXCEL, then I deleted the changes. Nevertheless, many variables are no longer recognized. See example in the image below. At first, I modify the β1 index, then I delete the change and the error disappears. How to avoid this "strange phenomenon."Thanks for your kind attention. With best regardsFM

Attention Geotechnical / Civil / Structural Engineers,Please see attached a copy of the Mathcad file I'm working on. The diagram is based on the author of a paper using different software to analyze a pile pile group. I tried the same problem using the method of deformation, but I was getting the wrong answer compared to what the author's answer using the different packages. Can anybody tell me what I was missing in the equations or provide the equations. The author's answer is at the end of the worksheet.Regards,Moses
How can I assign geometrical and Mechanical properties to a series of reinforcement bars and have them saved on the system or pre-established so everytime I perform a calculation I simply pull out the bar number and the parameters automatically are displayed. please see attachments. Thank you.
After a harware upgrade, I've installed MathCAD 14 on a windows 10 machine.Printing worked at first, but doesn't anymore. (Nothing appears at printer, and M/S print to pdf produces corrupt files; but other apps are OK).Circumstantial evidence from the dates suggests that the Windows Updates KB3149135 or KB3163018 of 16th June could be responsible.Has anyone else experienced this? (I've posted on the M/S forum too)Thanks
I am trying to find the symbolic Fourier Transform of f(x). Please see the picture below for the equation. I know from hand calcs that the answer should be e^(-2*(pi^2)*s^2). Instead, I am getting the strange answer shown below. Can somebody please show me how to get the correct solution using Mathcad? Thank you in advance,Tommy
Hello.I've written a program which finds the resonance frequencies of a recorder (using 2nd order Runge-Kutta integration) for various open and closed positions of the finger holes. Actually right now I am trying to get the same results in MathCad as in my earlier Excel program, so that I can easily move on to using complex quantities. I have attached the file.I am pretty sure that the basic computations are correct, and one can skip over them. The problem is with the minimization. Things are very sensitive to the inital "guess" frequency (at the top of the program). If I am off by say about 50 Hertz I get nonsense. Furthermore the final frequency found drifts slightly as I change the guess frequency. It's also very sensitive to the CTOL.The fundamental frequency for the hole configuration set right now is 353.4 Hz. If I guess around 800 Hz and search for the 2nd harmonic, I sometimes get around 743.9 Hz, but if I change the guess a tad I might get 347.1 Hz.Any help appreciated.R
