I am able to successfully import data via a text file (.txt) by using this READPRN command. However when the .txt file changes (i.e. data change), the import matrix in MathCAD is not automatically updated. I need to close the program down and re-open to have the updated numbers.The question here is, whether if there is a nicer way to do this? Another command maybe? I know I can always do right click “disable evaluation” and “enable evaluation”, but the problem is I open/use this Mathcad sheet through an easy batch code for an another program, so mouse commands are not an option for me.Thanks in advance!
Civie student here, got MathCad Express Prime 3.1 for several of my classes this semester that have labs and thus lab reports. Obviously one of the pros was that it could actually make graphs, compared to Excel which doesn't understand the x-axis. So I'm trying to graph data from a Geotechnical lab - grain size analysis - where the x-axis is diameter (mm) and the y-axis is percentage (unitless). I have three problems (possibly four):Unitless y-axisImporting data from a table (is that how it's done? I don't even know...I'm new to this...)Switching x-axis to the horizontal and y-axis to the vertical (they're currently the other way around)Defining x-axis values going backwards (smaller value towards the right)I say possibly four because reversing the direction of the x-axis scale isn't mandatory, it's just how we usually graph it.So...tips? Suggestions? Is what I'm trying to do impossible? Thanks in advance.

Hi all,I am trying to solve a function symbolically. However, I am having trouble with it, as shown below:As you can see, if I symbolically solve the function in the first line, directly, I get the desired result. It shows the transposed function and then I evaluate to get the answer.In the second line, I try to assign the function to a function variable.In the third line, I try to call up the function to solve it explicitly, but it fails. However, it still manages to find the solution, if I don't request 'explicit'.Is there any way to call up a function assigned to a variable and solve it explicitly?Any advice will be greatly appreciated.Cheers.
Hello Guys i have easy task to solved on paper even but can't find the proper code in Mathcad for it.The main task is really simple : A horizontal force of P = 100 N is just sufficient to hold the crate from sliding down the plany, and a horizontal force of P= 350N is required to just push the crate up the plane. Determine the coefficient of static friction between the plany and the crate, and find the mass of the crate.I don't want go deeper in technical aspect of this easy taks to calculate. The problem is in Matchad and my limited knowledge. How to set in equations with diffrent P value and find the solution in Mathcad?My work is seen below. But it's not going to work.The think is probably that i don't know how to use the result from two first equation and moved it to the next two to get the final result of it. Of course still don't know why for Mathcad the value of mi and m is as undefined...

Hi there,I have this little routine (see attached file MC15, Win 7) where I read in parameters from an excel file. For a better oversight of used values I display the assigned values by the explicit command. The catch is, even when restricting it by not using the keyword ALL, it displays all steps back to the very beginning; i.e. when read in from excel.Is there a way to limit the steps back of the explicit function?Raiko
Hello,I have seen that similar topics were opened but I could not find a solution to my problem. So sorry if the solution of this problem was explained somewhere in the ptc community and I missed it.I have a problem opening a file that I created a couple of days ago. I was using Mathcad 14 but I haven't checked which version to be honest. I typed the solution of an exercise that we gave in the class to the students and when I was done I saved the file as "xmcd". In order to send to some colleagues I also saved the file as ".rtf". I wanted to add some comments in the solution. So I tried to open the .xmcd file again but I got "the requested file is not a valid mathcad xml worksheet" error. For the last 2 days I have been trying to find a way to open the file. I tried to uninstall and install Mathcad 14 but it didn't work out. Some people in other topics suggest that upgrading the version might help. I installed Mathcad 15 with free trial license and still cannot open the file.Could you
