Hallo i just installed mathcad express but i cannot convert files. The symbol is greyed out. Can aynone help me? lg Stefan
Hello everyone, I am getting the following error when trying to run Mathcad with my .dat license. I have tried running the wizard and selecting the .dat I originally had. I also tried the .txt file that I got emailed to me when i "retrieved my license" on the PTC website. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I am not very familiar with this program so I apologize if this seems simple. Thanks, Rob
Hello, I have been trying to solve this problem below using MathCAD. Yet I could not do it. Kinda stuck in here.
After working on a Mathcad file for more than 2 months and for a design job I am doing, I tried to open the file today, but it won't open at all.I tried from several computers.Every time I get a message saying:The file type is not supported. Log file is located at...etcI have not updated the tile type. So obviously the software corrupted the file last time it was saving it or so.Now how do I retrieve 2 months worth of work?I was going to negotiate with my management to upgrade to a paid version of Mathcad and use it as the standard tool for all our calculations. But now I don't trust it.Please advise how to retrieve the file contents.thanks
Hallo, found something strange in the calculation when i show all decimalpositions Is there any plausible explanation? lg Stefan
Hello, Everyone. From : How to plot 8 upper-corner-points ? Thanks in advance. Regards.
Hi, I am using Mathcad 15. Usually I will copy and paste drawing from autocad to Mathcad worksheet. Then, when I right click the Autocad drawing in my mathcad worksheet, it only have option edit DWGTrueView object but cannot edit it with DWGTrueView. Can someone please show how to edit the Autocad drawing embedded in Mathcad using autocad? You can review the attachment. Thank you
Does the newest version - Mathcad Prime 5 has the option of formating as it was in Mathcad 15? Mainly I have in mind these options: definition as equalevaluation as equalhide keywords
Hi, I am trying to do this workshop as shown in the attached picture. I am a new user to MathCAD and it needs to be done using MathCAD. It is an iterative calculation to find parameters related to the terminal velocity in a settling equation. In this case, the desired terminal velocity of the particle is known, I am trying to find what the associated diameter D for that velocity would be, given a certain particle density p_subp. Reynolds number is R, Drag coefficient is C, as defined by the equations in the picture. you can rearrange the velocity equation in terms of v or D as desired. The physics part is easy but I am having the following issues. Since C is a piecewise function based on value of R, I have used if/else statements to determine value. However, MathCAD highlights the inequality Re<1 for C <-- if Re <1 and says "This value must be a scalar" This also comes up for the R<1000, R<200000 terms. Any fix for this? If that can be fixed, it is part of a
Hello, I am trying to control the output of the trace() function for debugging. Ideally I will want something like the fprintf function of several programming language to control the characters that the output displays. It becomes really cumbersome to read the output if the vectors are not aligned as for instance What I would like Iteration 1 vec1_vector(3) [1.0000e-06, 0.0000e00 , 0.0000e00 ] __vec2 vector(3) [0.0000e00 , 0.0000e00 , 0.0000e00 ] Iteration 2 vec1_vector(3) [1.6667e-06, 0.0000e00 , 1.3413e-02] __vec2 vector(3) [0.0000e00 , 1.3413e-01, 1.3413e-01] Iteration 3 vec1_vector(3) [1.6667e-06, 2.4513e-01, 1.3413e-02] __vec2 vector(3) [2.4245e-01, 1.3413e-01, 1.3413e-01] What I am getting Iteration 1 vec1_vector(3) [1e-06, 0, 0] __vec2 vector(3) [0, 0, 0] Iteration 2 vec1_vector(3) [1.16666666666667e-06, 0, 0.013413413] __vec2 vector(3)&nb
how can i change page number in footer and delete "of" or change "of" to "-" there are words "page" and "of" but i want to change to other language..
Hallo, question about the new Prime 5.0. As so far we are importing loadcases frome excel calculating the stuff and exporting the results to excel. After calculating the loadcases we are creating a calculation report in WORD. Copying the excel table and the mathcad calculation in. Now our reports have up to 500 Pages because one calculation can have up to 30 pages. Now is Prime 5.0 capable of doing such a Report of 200 to 500 Pages? So there is no need to use Microsoft Word anymoore? Or are there any limitations like in Mathcad 15 where there comes always the message not enough working storage. lg Stefan
Hello everyone! Why is the generalized integral, highlighted in the figure, null? when, instead, should it be 1?Thank you very muchGreetings F. M.
I have defined a load function, which plots nicely: Then I find the shear force diagram by integrating the load function and considering reactions. This also plots nicely: Finally, I want to find the moment diagram... should be just an integration of the shear force diagram... but Mathcad seems to get confused: (100kNm is just an estimate for demonstration purposes) (Note the single point at 0, 100) Am I doing something wrong, or is this a Mathcad problem? The main source of my frustration is that the loading diagram 'works' and the shear force diagram which is based on it, also 'works' - why then not the bending moment? Although I understand that posting the calculation file is preferred, I have not done so as it is over 25 pages long and almost every page feeds into these functions, eventually. Would anyone have any ideas of what I should check?
Plz check the mathcad file.
Hello, Everyone. From : "No solution was found". What does it mean in this case ? Regards.
I have what is probably a simple plotting issue. It occurs at the bottom of the attached worksheet. I am comparing four outputs from Odesolve and Radau: velocity, stress, porosity and pore pressure. When I plot the velocity and stress together there is no problem (I know there are some differences in the peaks, but I understand why this is happening and it is not the issue). For the porosity and pore pressure, the outputs look ok if I put them on separate plots, but if I put them on the same plot, the output from the second quantity on the plot (from Odesolve) does not seem to plot correctly.
I was wondering if I could get some clarification on updating the license on the Mathcad Prime 4.0 We had a message stating the license was expiring. I have able to successfully retrieve the new license and have the zip folder with the text document. However, I'm unsure how I go about updating the license for a user. I attempted to look at some documentation but I'm unsure what the next step is or if I'm doing it correctly. Help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Hello Everyone. From : Am I missing something in finding the local min of the function f(x), the above ? Thanks in advance.
Hi guys! I'm new here, trying to learn the basics of mathcad prime 4. I'm having trouble solving what I thought was a simple operation. I'm trying to get a numerical value for k, but I can't make it work. I tried looking in the help and googling, but I'm not getting any closer. I know the answer is probably simple, but I'm just not finding it. So I was hoping for some advice and help on how to write this stuff in mathcad so it understands what I want to do.. One last thing, k is a factor in wind resistance (Wind resistance = k * velocity) EDIT: I tried removing all units, which seems to work. But then I have to reassign all my units again, which is rather annoying.. I believe there is a way, which I'm just not seeing (yet)
See the mice (surface bats) problem here The Bats problem - see please the video and the Mathcad 15 sheet in attach! Can you show more nice (symmetric) plan of flyers!
Still learning mathcad. could you please help me to understand what changes i need to make to get the sigma_x/p, sigma_x, sigma_z/p, and sigma_z values to calcualte correctly. thanks
I have coordinates of two point: x1, y1, z1 and x2, y2, z2. How to plot the line connected two points in 3D surface plot? Thanks
Hello, I have a little problem with mathcad prime 4.0 and I hope that somebody on here can help me. I already paid the 12.00€ that mathcad prime 4.0 costs and verified my adress but then the problems started. I got an E-Mail that had a file attached to it which i saved to my computer first (like the E-Mail said) and then tried to open the file on my computer. But every time I do this PhotoDirector just tells me that the file can not be opened because it's damaged / not supported and that I should check the content sources and try again. If somebody knows what I'm doing wrong please tell me as soon as possible because I need mathcad for school and without it I'm screwed.
How to create 3D curve using x, y and z vectors? I have done it but do not remember! And second - can you correct the solution of this problem - Hawk and Hare. Thanks!
