I had to program a long expression that runs past the width of the page. Prime has a means of wrapping a math equation. Is there a means to wrap an expression as shown below? TR := "Z1P OR Z1G OR Z2PT OR Z2GT OR Z4PT OR Z4GT OR 51T01 OR 87OP OR (50P1 OR 50G1 OR 67P2T OR 67G4T) AND LOP AND 87BLK"
I have a large portion of calculations that I will be calling a few times and I would like to avoid repeating it it's not a simple function f(x) = x^2, that I could just create a custom one. it has loops, etc I saw a suggestion of putting everything in a solve block, but the solve block has these options (guess, constraints, solver) that I will not be using in my routine:Also, after I defined the subroutine, how do i call the results?i am using Mathcad 9.0.0i attached the file that contains only the part I would like to be the subroutine itselfit has the Inputs, Calculations, Outputs. Should be easy to understand the general idea.
After several attempts I can't understand what is not working, please can you look at the attached sheet
Ctl g does not work. It teverts to regular text. Is this possible in any table or matrix. The text is in quotes in the table.
Hello everyone! My 17" laptop, which had Mathcad 15 installed, "died" after 15 years of honorable service. Fortunately I still have another laptop that runs M15. Having a new 17", I would like to buy M- Prime 11, but how can I get the retiree discount, if there are only two options for purchasing: 1) Mathcad Prime (Single license) €811/yr; 2) Student edition €90/yr? I thank all those who will answer.
Hi,Can you help me in solving this equation? I'm stock in this equation. I am using Mathcad Prime 10. And the error is said to be "This value must be a scalar or a matrix".
Hello. I don't quite get the way hte summation operator works in my particular example here. Why do I get different values? What do I do wrong here? Best regards,Sergey
Hi.I'm using MathCad 14 with Windows 11. When I click "help" and "Quicksheets," it says "Unable to open C\contents\qheet\*.hbk. The C:\contents directory doesn't exist. When I create it and load Quicksheets from the install disk, I get "Unable to open C\contents\qheet\toc_qs.xmcd. Should I do a complete reinstall, or will it not work with the new Windows?...Larrylarry@capsense.com
whenever I multiply an array by numbers and store it in an array I get this: because of those brackets, if add other values to u''0 and I try to call u''0 and displays like this: why is that happening and what is the proper syntax to avoid this issue?
I am using MathCAD Prime 10I’m working with a system of four vertically stacked blocks, each 4 feet high. The widths of the blocks are labeled B1, B2, and B3, and the bottom elevation of the lowest block is defined by BotEL.The ground surface is sloped and described by a series of known (X, Y) coordinates. For each block, I need to:Determine the coordinates of two intersection points with the ground surface. These are labeled a1 and b1 for the first block, a2 and b2 for the second, and so on.The "a" points represent vertical lines extending down from the right edge of each block. Their X-coordinates are defined by the block geometry, while the Y-coordinates should be interpolated from the ground surface at those X-positions.The "b" points correspond to lines inclined at an angle ψ relative to the ground surface, as illustrated in the attached image.I've also attached a Mathcad file and a diagram to help illustrate the problem setup.Note: This is a more detailed version of a previous ques
Prime 10. I want to make an xy plot of a function. The function evaluates correctly. But when I plot, it says the units are not compatible. I assigned units to the axes
Good morning, everyone,I'm currently working on a Mathcad sheet. I have two time-dependent functions that I want to combine with a differential equation. However, I keep getting an error message, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.I managed to get it working in MATLAB, but I would like to finish this properly in Mathcad. The issue occurs on the last page, where the solve block isn't isolated from the rest of the calculations Does anyone know how I can solve this? Thanks in advance!
Hi,I have a nested loop where I wish to calculate crack growth under a block of stress range data and then continue the calculation for multiple blocks to see how many blocks of data it takes until failure (crack is half diameter of shaft).I am sure there is a simple fix, but I cannot seem to find it!Any assistance would be appreciated. Ross
Hi Mathcad 10.0 Prime User,I want to make a table with different variables. My Q is always different, on which the other variables depend on. Q has to be 2 or higher. So if someone can just show me how to do the basic table, I will than use my Q's etc. I really have no clue how this might work in Mathcad. File is attached. Thanks.Saro
Hello @LucMeekes ! I am using prime 9.0.0 and I cannot seem to find an option to add multiple entries to a single plot like in this answer. I can just copy and paste the plot you generated, and it works, but I would like to know how it is done, please 🙂 Reference topic: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Multiple-Plot-Entries/m-p/652806#M925
Hello mathcad 10.0 Prime User,I wanted to ask if someone knows how to use the the "solve-block" to find two missing variables in an equation. Or if there might be a different way? I am searching for h1u und h1o. And h1o depends on "a" and h1u.Thanks for any help. The mathcad-file is attached. Saro
HeyMy file for my exam crashed while saving and now it wont open. See picture. Can you help me recover just a fraction of the data? Also Im not able to attach the file for some wierd reason.
Hello everyoneI've had the same problem as descripted here twice this week:Unable to activate Excel componentI work with an embedded excel table which contains a function. At a certain point I get the error message "Excel is busy; can't activate Excel. Make sure that cells are not being edited in Excel and try again in a few seconds." but there is no instance of excel open. Upon restarting mathcad and/or my computer the problem remains.Does anyone know how to solve this problem?Could someone please check the appended file so I can exclude an error of my sytem?Cheers!
Does FIND stop searching for a more accurate solution when it finds a solution satisfying CTOL? For example suppose I want to find temperature to within .5 F and I set CTOL to .5. Will Mathcad stop searching when CTOL is met or will it continue searching until some smaller CTOL is achieved? Note: my Solve Block is solving for 1 unknown with units (BTU/min). My constraint has units of degF. I found that units can be applied to CTOL but then FIND does not work. Also I have a case where I set CTOL to .4, but the FIND solve block found an answer (solution) at which the error is .53733 which is larger than CTOL. So why is FIND returning a solution? PS: My constraint is 0 =ABS(T1-T1x) + ABS(T2-T2x)
Hello! I am working in mathcad prime 9.0.0.0 and am wondering why mathcad calculates end result units like this:why do the units on the results automatically display as such? To me it would be logical for it to display kip x ft as the unit since those are the units of the values being multiplied and is also a commonly used unit for moments or torques. Is there a way to get it to automatically show kip x ft as the units?
PLEASE add a dark mode option and/or color options for the background and text.
Hello people 🤗 Mathcad 10 Prime User here,In my picture below you will see that the equation is giving me a very weird answer. I guess it has something to do with a vector problem, but I tried everything and can't figure out what the problem might be. And I also don't understand why my "header" is showing an error. The table from Excel should be my answer. Don't get confused by "yi"and "y" - it's the same thing, it can be ignored. I also send the mathcad pdf (i don't know why I can't send the actual file but anyways - it always said error) - all the equations are correctly written. Thanks for any help.Saro
Dear all, I'm exploring the functions:numerdenomAnd I've encountered the "oddities" in the joined MathCAD file (see what highlighted in pale yellow and the text; in pale blue some reference results for information) To be honest I suspect multiple bugs... If I'm wrong (i.e. we're not dealing with bugs...) , can someone explain me the logic under the quoted functions behavior, because I really cannot understand... Many thanks in advance & Best Regards
Hi Folks, I have a system of three coupled ODEs that I'm trying to solve in Prime 10. I seem to have a syntax error, but the help files are so terse, I can find an example to follow. I'm sure I'm making a basic mistake, but I can't figure it out from the documentation. I'd be most obliged if someone could point me in the right direction. The attached file actually has two different solution attempts in it. The first is a state space solution with rkfixed. I followed a short example from the documentation, but it doesn't work. The second is the uses odesolve in a solve block. I'd be happy if I could get either one to work, but the solve block version seems like it takes better advantage of Prime's features. Edit: I figured out the problem with the odesolve solution. I defined three of the initial conditions incorrectly. I wrote x1'(t)=0 rather than x1'(0)=0. That just leaves the state space
Hello @MN_2245665 With reference to this topic. I dont have mathcad 15. when I try to convert it to Mathcad prime 9, i get an error message: Thanks, Sam
