Hi everyone,it is possible that I already posted a similar question in the past , but this one is a slightly different problem. The physical background is the fatigue calculation derived from random vibration with a known PSD. There are many literature sources for that, I will just mention a good practical summary by Tom Irvine (hope the link will work), or just google "Estimating Fatigue Damage from Stress Power Spectral Density Function".Now my problem is: the input for these approaches is always a continuous integrable function like for example this example from that paper:Obviously the units of these function are the square of the input quantity divided by Hz (for stress for example ksi**2/Hz or MPa**2/Hz). In this way the square root of the integral of the function will provide the RMS of the input quantity (in this example 6.64 ksi).Now let's say I have a measured time signal (it is actually a vibration velocity, but it would be no problem to convert it in stress, so that i
I have an output issue with mathcad Prime. I am missing a negative sign. I have attached PDF and actual Prime and mathcad files.
Hello Everyone. Not know to graph f(x):= e^x - (1 / {e^[x*1i]}^1i) + [1/(e^pi)]*{[tan(x)]^2 - [cot(x)]^2} ? Thanks in advance. Regards.
I have 2D matrix (NxM) created with indices which I like to plot in 3D. I wish to change the axes to display not the indices but rather the actual vector that have generated them (with units).Please see the attachment.How can I do that?
I need a little help. Why isn't this working... How am I supposed to solve the system (except using a matrix without units or even this method but without units)
Hi,I'm using a Mathcad Prime 3.1 Express version and when trying to open the program an Error informed of an Unhandled exception error which information was in a hidden folder of the app data.I attach the files of the error to this post, hoping for someone to know how solve it and willing to help me.Thank you,C.O.
Hello,I would like to know if it is possible to solve a system of elliptic partial differential equations in Mathcad 15. Mathcad help contains a solved example of one elliptic partial differential equation. There is however no information about a system of elliptic PDEs. Is Mathcad 15 capability to solve a system of PDEs limited only to parabolic and hyperbolic equations? Best regardsRafal
I recently obtained a new work computer running 64-bit Windows 7. I have a single user license for Mathcad 14.0 with the Add-On Collection. I uninstalled Mathcad from my old 32-bi Windows XP machine. I had tremendous difficulty getting the software installed on the new machine. I also have personal license at home runing on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine that installed relatively easily and works fine, so I know it was possible. The difference is that my primary account on my home machine has full administrator privileges, whereas my work machine is much more restricted. Here's the procedure that worked for me. Hopefully, it can help somebody else.Installing Mathcad 14.0 M020 with Add-On Collection on 64-bit Windows 71.) Ideally, run the entire installation from an account with full administrator privileges. However, you can run from a standard account as long as you obtain local machine administrator privileges (which is what was done here)."*.exe" files should be run with "Run as Adminis
Hi community,Here I submit for revision and correction the results of a big formula to get the density of a mixture of ethanol and water given the temperature in degree Celsius (t) and the alcoholic strength by mass (p) expressed as decimal. The goal is to reproduce an alcoholometry table attached as a pdf file where the formula is given together with the reduced result table .I attach also the Mathcad worksheet where I try to reproduce the table by applying the formula to different values of temperature and alcoholic strength of the mixture.Thank you for any help!Juan.
I have been told by PTC advisor that Mathcad 14 is not compatible with Windows 8.1.So I downloaded Mathcad 15 and found that would not intall either.I have installed Mathcad Prime but without 15 Prime is not fully functional.It seems I will have to abandon Mathcad and use other maths programmes - unless anyone has any ideas ?Regards, Andy.
Hello everybody !I am just curious if the first argument of polyroots has some (useful) meaning (see highlighted region in attached), since subsequent calculations in the worksheet work fine.The equation originates from the simple DE : dT(z)/dz = [deltaH/cpm(T)] * dgCO(z)/dz , with the initial conditions : T(0) = T0 and gCO(0) = some value.I suppose that's something coming from the cuisine of muPad symbolic engine...Note that value displayed as first argument at polyroots may change on re-opening the file.Best regards, Liv.
I thought this was quite useful but I couldn't find a single post here or elsewhere on how to do it. Mathcad's solver is a bit temperamental so feeding it good guesses can be important. Other programs I've used offer the option to use last solution as the guesses. Since I don't seem to see that option I generated a program to do it. Here's the original post for the problem I was trying to solve. I'm just posting this stand-alone to enhance findability: Solve block problem (3.1)Credit to Valery for pointing me in this direction.This is probably an overly complicated example, but the takeaway is guesses can be fed into a solve block (when it's called as a function). And a program can be used to read the last solution as new guesses when it calls the solve block. Maybe there are more elegant ways to do it, but it seems like a good trick to have in your bag. It would be nice it Mathcad offered this a built-in option. I expe
I have what I thought was a fairly simple problem, but it is giving me all sorts of problems converging. Background: I'm solving for flow and forces on a valve to find conditions as the valve strokes. So, I have flow through a series of orifices (solving for an intermediate pressure) and those pressures lead to forces that must balance against other forces (e.g. a spring). So, it solves that without any issue. Then I want to get more complicated and I use the solve block to calculate a simple parameter like flow velocity - then it starts having trouble. Note, velocity doesn't affect the flow or force equations - I'm just looking for a value. Sometimes it will solve it, but I have to get the guesses right on. So, am I not formulating this right? The blocks in red are what cause a problem when I enable them. I've tried many ways of entering the guess values but nothing seems very robust. Thanks!3.1 and pdf attached.

i am trying to plot this function S(R) but it keeps saying that it does not converge to a solution. based on the homework it says that it should be an exponential decay to zero but i don't know why it is not working out here. anyone know what to do? my functions and plots are solely just following my teacher's directions but it seems that it doesn't work as easily as it seems.
Hi everyone,is it possible to read (import) FAMOS raw data into Mathcad? eventually with some kind of script?Some measurement equipment produce this kind of raw format. The format description can be found in the manufacturer web page: http://www.imc-berlin.deAn example of what I mean can be found here, albeit with MATLAB:File Exchange - MATLAB CentralI would have a description of the format, but it is in German. And it is pretty complex Thanks for any hint!Best regardsClaudio Pedrazzi
Hello Everyone. The question : atan(1i*[1 - x^2i]/[1 + x^2i]) = a assume, -pi/2 < a <= pi/2 , solve, x ? Thanks in advance. Regards.
Please see the screenshot below. PAEH's unit should be kN/m. Thanks,Vincent
In the same MATHCAD document, is it possible to have different headers (top page information, like date, title of calcul sheet, etc.) like Words for example? Thanks
Please see attached for formatting issues in Mathcad Prime
When I try to plot a user defined function on the y-axis vs. the independent variable on the x-axis, the independent variable is marked as undefined, and the plot fails; However, when I switch the positions of the function and the independent variable, such that the independent variable is on the y-axis, the plot works perfectly. Why is this the case? I need to plot the independent variable on the x-axis for the assignment I am working on. I have attached what I have so far. The plot is at the very end. Any information will help! Thanks!:
Hi everyone ! I'm a student, Can anybody tell me where to download a free version of mathcad 15.0 ?
Hi,I have a problem with an integral. Symbolic evaluation resulted in a "hypergeom" function. The problem is Mathcad 15 does not recognize its own function "hypergeom". Is this a bug? Does anyone now how to deal with this problem? I am interested in solutions for 'z' larger than -10 in this particular example (away from the singularity).Best regardsRafal
